OPEN ☆ If we were in a perfect world
Who: Shell Overlord (
steponme) & OPEN
What: Catch-all Log, now with open prompts!!
When: End of April - Start of May
Where: Olympia
Warning(s): Awkward boners, violence
Fight Club | cw: violence, mind control
[For those who venture down to the see the underground fights, they might find a peculiar scene waiting for them. Standing in the arena and awaiting his opponent is Shell. But for those who know him, there's really no questions that he's not exact;y the fighting type. What's he doing there? Well...]
A. VS (Previous CR only please!)
[...it looks like he's your opponent today. He doesn't look very intimidating, not particularly dressed down beyond having taken off his jacket and scarf, and he doesn't seem to be holding a weapon of any kind. But something you might notice is that a good chunk of the crowd seems to be stepping back. You probably haven't seen what he can do yet -- but even the refferee looks a little standoffish, climbing up over the barricade to stand atop it, out of reach. But as for Shell-- well, he didn't expect to see anyone he knew here.]
...what are you doing here?
B. Domination (OTA)
[...it looks like his battle is about to start. If you're smart, and you've chosen to follow the crowd in sitting in one of the higher seats, then you'll only see the "battle" play out. Shell enters, and just as his opponent starts getting into stance to fight, he suddenly freezes and collapses to his knees. As Shell steps closer, the man starts to scream, pleading for it to "stop" -- whatever it is. Eventually, Shell leans down and whispers something to him, and he starts screaming for the refferee that he gives up.]
[But if you were curious enough to stay as close to the ring as possible, then you'll get to experience what those sitting in the higher seats can only watch: a strong sense of fear and dread seemingly emanates off the battle arena, causing those sitting closest to experience effects similar to the man in the ring. Some start crying, others scream, but most of them only stand and stare in petrified silence. Even the refferee seems affected for a few moments, taking far too long to end the match and give Shell the win.]
[And the moment he does, the heavy atmosphere disappears as suddenly as it appeared. But as Shell heads off stage to wait for his next match, for some reason, he doesn't look very happy about it.]
[ooc: Feel free to alter prompts as you see fit! Let me know in Prompt A whether your character will be effected by Shell's pheromones, as they have a 25% chance of failing entirely. Please note that if you choose to have your character sit too close in Prompt B, they will be affected as well. If you'd like to avoid that, have them sit further back!]

[Random-ass fantasy creatures. It's probably the best tasting blood he's been able to find so far, but er... he sniffs the air a few times.]
...I think I would have thrown it out too. Hold on, I'll get some towels to clean it up.
no subject
[Because literally why else would he have bottles of it in the fridge to begin with?]
Do you have bad taste?
no subject
[He calls out from another room, before coming back in with a few towels, rolling up his sleeves to mop it up. Notably, the towels already look like they've been used to clean blood before, given the light stains around them.]
[He sighs, frowning.]
It doesn't taste so bad when it's fresh, but I can't seem to get it to last after one glass. I've only had this bottle for two days...
no subject
What do you mean you don't drink human blood? You're a vampire. Reign drinks it.
no subject
[He gives a small, sad little smile, even as he kneels there cleaning the mess. He's not sure she'd understand his reasoning... but she's also one of the first people to ask him directly. Huh.]
Because I love humans too much to want to feed on them... but I guess that makes me a bit strange, huh?
no subject
[No really, why? She doesn't get it. Sure, she's met a couple that she's come to like, but they're still primarily food at the end of the day. A pig farmer could have his favourite livestock as a pet and eat it too.]
You can't stop drinking something you have to drink. You don't have a choice.
no subject
[He probably had more humans he cared about than vampires, really. Or at least, humans have always shown him far more love -- Reign aside, perhaps.]
[What she says next has him laughing softly, smiling a little brighter. It's... weird to feel proud of this, but he didn't think he'd be able to keep this up for this long.]
You say that, but I haven't hate human blood in over two months. And I'm still breathing, aren't I?
no subject
And yet you look awful. Worse than you did at the party. You don't have to kill a human to drink their blood. Just take some of Reign's supply.
no subject
[Look at this casual change of subject.]
I don't remember if I ever got to thank you properly for it. I felt a lot better the day after, even though I should have been pretty hungover with all those drinks Chuuya made me.
no subject
[Ah, avoidance. Nice. Whatever, she'll roll with it.]
You didn't, no, but you don't need to thank me. I thought you could use some, and besides, my blood is special. It's an honour really, that I gave you some.
no subject
[He stands and takes the towels to the sink, turning on the water to wring them out.]
[And then he pauses for a moment, back still to her as he looks up.]
...actually, how did you give me your blood, anyway? You told me I didn't bite you, right?
no subject
[Ah, had he really not realized? That gets a small smile out of her.]
I fed you like a baby bird would be fed by it's mother.
no subject
Y-You... wait, you don't mean...
[POINTS AT HER, POINTS AT LIPS, GESTURES]
no subject
[That's not important. His shock is pretty funny though.]
I'm not surprised to hear it made you feel better, even if it was a tiny amount.
no subject
[He almost brings his hands up to his cheeks to cover his face, but realizes at the last second his hands are still covered in gross blood, so he turns around to continue washing the towels.]
[She'll still get a pretty good shot of his bright red face, though.]
I-I... wondered about that, since I didn't see a mark from where you bit me.
no subject
I bit myself! And then shared it with you. Lucky you, Shell.
no subject
Y-Yeah. If it's something you don't give to a lot of people, then I really must be.
[...]
You, er... haven't mentioned this to Reign at all, have you?
no subject
[She's had no reason to.]
Should I?
no subject
[Especially now, knowing he's from three years ago and what he's going through, trying to live without feeding on humans.]
no subject
[She doesn't look too concerned about whatever Shell's saying, at any rate.]
If I wanted to kill you I could and he knows that.
no subject
[Don't talk about killing him so easily?? But whatever, that's not what's important here.]
But that's not really what I meant. He wouldn't be worried about you hurting me, as much as... me letting myself get hurt, I guess.
no subject
[Yeah, how's that for the truth?]
no subject
[He can't exactly deny it.]
But this is something I chose to do for myself. I don't expect anyone else to understand it.
no subject
[It doesn't make any sense to her.]
So why don't you explain it?
no subject
[It might be boring to her. Or she'd hear it all, and still not quite get it. It's not that he thinks she wouldn't be able to understand it, but... for her to ask him so sincerely why he loves humans, she must not have had very many positive interactions with them.]
[It's sad to think about, really. Did she have no humans friends here on Nysa?]
