[For those who venture down to the see the underground fights, they might find a peculiar scene waiting for them. Standing in the arena and awaiting his opponent is Shell. But for those who know him, there's really no questions that he's not exact;y the fighting type. What's he doing there? Well...]
A. VS (Previous CR only please!)
[...it looks like he's your opponent today. He doesn't look very intimidating, not particularly dressed down beyond having taken off his jacket and scarf, and he doesn't seem to be holding a weapon of any kind. But something you might notice is that a good chunk of the crowd seems to be stepping back. You probably haven't seen what he can do yet -- but even the refferee looks a little standoffish, climbing up over the barricade to stand atop it, out of reach. But as for Shell-- well, he didn't expect to see anyone he knew here.]
...what are you doing here?
B. Domination (OTA)
[...it looks like his battle is about to start. If you're smart, and you've chosen to follow the crowd in sitting in one of the higher seats, then you'll only see the "battle" play out. Shell enters, and just as his opponent starts getting into stance to fight, he suddenly freezes and collapses to his knees. As Shell steps closer, the man starts to scream, pleading for it to "stop" -- whatever it is. Eventually, Shell leans down and whispers something to him, and he starts screaming for the refferee that he gives up.]
[But if you were curious enough to stay as close to the ring as possible, then you'll get to experience what those sitting in the higher seats can only watch: a strong sense of fear and dread seemingly emanates off the battle arena, causing those sitting closest to experience effects similar to the man in the ring. Some start crying, others scream, but most of them only stand and stare in petrified silence. Even the refferee seems affected for a few moments, taking far too long to end the match and give Shell the win.]
[And the moment he does, the heavy atmosphere disappears as suddenly as it appeared. But as Shell heads off stage to wait for his next match, for some reason, he doesn't look very happy about it.]
[ooc: Feel free to alter prompts as you see fit! Let me know in Prompt A whether your character will be effected by Shell's pheromones, as they have a 25% chance of failing entirely. Please note that if you choose to have your character sit too close in Prompt B, they will be affected as well. If you'd like to avoid that, have them sit further back!]

[REIGN YOU DRUGGED HIM]
[AND MADE HIM WEIRD]
[...]
[AND NOTHING HE SAID WAS UNTRUE and somehow that makes it that much more embarrassing.]
1/2
Really?
[ ...
Oh. ]
That does seem like the case. Maybe I used too much dosage of dragon blood.
no subject
Perhaps I shouldn't have used that Verrilium sap either. [ Because rumour was that it was something of a truth serum. ] Oh yes, reduce the amount of dragon blood. Add something a bit sweet, maybe?
no subject
[Well, seeing as Shell still has a firm grip of both his shoulders -- he's just gonna shake him a little.]
R-Reign! Come on, shouldn't we talk about this!?
no subject
He raised his hands, offering his surrender. ]
Sorry, you're right. We should talk about this.
So... [ He grinned, tapping his chin as he leaned slightly towards Shell. ]
Tell me what else did you feel. Only anger? Ah, but did the perfume smell nice to you? Not too overpowering?
1/2
[He's gonna push him back up against the wall.]
That's not what I meant and you know it! Come on, I-- I can't be the only one feeling... confused right now...
[...or is he? Surely Reign wasn't carrying the torch for him for three years after the failed proposal. Obviously Shell has no idea what became of himself during those years, but it was obvious they weren't anything else but friends. And those little differences he's noticed in Reign... maybe Reign really didn't feel the same as he did back then?]
[Which made sense. And it was better if he didn't. Rationally, Shell knows and understands this.]
[...]
[So why does it hurt? This isn't fair.]
no subject
The perfume smelled fine. It was subtle and not so overpowering that anyone would think it to be too much, unless perhaps someone decided to bathe in it.
I don't know what else it made me feel-- but it didn't feel unpleasant.
no subject
His initial excitement slipped away, replaced by his rarely shown serious face. ]
Thank you, I'll keep that in mind about the perfume.
About what you said earlier... I would be lying if I say I don't feel anything any more after three years. It'll always be there, you'll always have a place in me. [ He pressed a hand to his own chest, over his heart. ] I'm happy you're awake, I really am. There are so many "ifs" running in my head, of what could be between us, but then there's him.
[ Reign didn't need to say his name for Shell to know who he was talking about. ]
no subject
[Reign didn't need to say his name. But Shell will.]
...I love One, Reign. That's... not something that's changed.
[One, not Eric. It's a name he knows, even if he feels like he only heard it in a dream -- but it's not a name he'll acknowledge out loud until he sees him again for himself.]
But I don't know if I ever really saw him. If I ever really saw the person underneath, who he tried so hard to hide from me. And when he wakes up... after everything that's happened, I don't think we could do anything other than start over. This world is so different... I've already experienced things I-- things I never dreamed I could do back home. For the first time in my life... I feel like me all the time. One was the one who showed me that side of myself.
[He smiles -- but there's a distinct sadness to it.]
...but then he left. Without telling me anything about himself.
[He already told Reign that was his last memory -- and that the next memory he had was of the storm. The transition of those memories was seamless. As impossible as it might seem, Shell has a hard time believing that he truly lost his memories. Rather, for whatever reason, he seems to have been taken away by the storm in the past.]
You told me that I meet him again. And I'm happy you told me. But that person... that Shell you know-- that person isn't me. I'm already a different person now.
no subject
Reign was silent as he listened to Shell, hearing the concern beneath, seeing what it was that had been gnawing at his friend. It was clear to him how much Eric had been a part of Shell's life, opened Shell up to his true self. Honestly, Reign was a bit jealous that Eric, a mere human (though now he knew was a human-vampire hybrid) had been able to get past Shell's wall. But that was in the past, despite not being so for his best friend. ]
If I could, I would tell you all about what happens after, and for the next three years. But you're right. We've changed, you and I, ever since we wake. I can't promise that— [ A pause, almost a slip of his tongue to say Eric's name. He needed to be more careful. ] —that One will be the same as well when he wakes. His memories may even be of the time before he met you.
[ And that would be horrible thing to happen, not remembering at all, but not impossible either. Sure, Reign knew that Shell and Eric will end up together in the end, but there was no way he could assure Shell that it would be the same when One/Eric woke.
He took a step closer, and if Shell allowed, Reign would reach out to touch Shell's cheek. ]
We will change, but that doesn't mean the core that defines us will. You may have begun to change, open up more, but you're still the Shell I know. [ And love. ] I only fear if I've changed so much from the Reign that you know, and maybe that's why I've unconsciously kept my distance from you.
[ Compared to Shell whom Reign was familiar with three years ago, Shell had to get to know this Reign who was three years into the future. So much would have changed. Nysa had changed Reign already. It was scary. What if this divide begun to push them apart? ]
no subject
[He allows Reign to step closer, resting his hand over the top of his own when he reaches out for his cheek. He's not sure if Reign completely took to heart what Shell was trying to say, but...it was a start.]
...you have changed. Or maybe I was never really looking at the real you either... but after spending this past month living with you, I already feel like I know you better than I did when we were back home.
You're not exactly as I remember you now... but I like the Reign standing in front of me, too.
no subject
I think living in Nysa has helped me. You too. It makes us more... comfortable in our own skin, who we truly are.
[ Sure, Reign may have come out as an abnormal back home, but the backlash hadn't been pretty either. He was just lucky he didn't get exiled to the slums.
But Nysa was a place where he didn't need to worry about such matters, except the occasional people who may have had a bad experience with vampire kinds in their own world. ]
Really? You're not saying it to placate me? [ Reign knew Shell wouldn't lie to him or sugarcoat words, but he wanted to be sure, quell the dark doubt in his heart. ]
no subject
[To hear that Reign feels the same way, and to know that's what's helped him become so strong in Shell's eyes, is more than enough to have him smiling again.]
I really mean it. [Shell was the one who just kissed him a few minutes ago, he's not really in a position to deny it even if it weren't true. But he's not going to point that out. Maybe... it would be for the best not to think about it. Not when he knows the risk of hurting Reign is so high.]
[As long as he knows Reign is looking at him and not at the person he could have become three years down the line-- maybe that's enough.]
No matter how much time passes between us-- you'll always be my best friend, Reign.
1/2
Hearing that from Shell made Reign smile, lips stretching wider at the words that followed. It pleased him to see Shell's smile as well, though he hoped his friend would get better and be able to get used to his new diet. He knew it wasn't easy, and thee type of animals on Nysa were quite different compared to their own.
There was a pregnant pause. Be prepared Shell, because the next moment, Reign threw himself at him in a hug. Probably hard enough to almost knock them both onto the floor. Whoops. ]
You're forever my best friend too, Shell.
[ Yeah, Reign took Shell's earlier words to heart about having kept his distance. Now he will try to stick by Shell as much as possible. ]
2/2
Now then, let's continue testing the perfume recipe. You'll help me, right?
[ Yeah, smooth change of topic. Reign was going to turn away quickly now, trying to walk past Shell. ]
no subject
[Well, okay, no. He did honestly miss this, even if half the time he was pushing Reign away. But the fact that he didn't have to do that anymore felt... a little lonely. And admittedly it did strike his ego a bit too, especially when he knows he's not exactly looking his best these days.]
[...]
[But then he feels Reign poking him and the regrets come back.]
Ahaha... hah? Wait, you're going to keep testing that one? On me?
no subject
Reign blinked, stopping in his tracks as he looked back at Shell, then hummed. Okay, testing that dragon blood-infused perfume was a bad idea. He still had to deal with that little problematic "guy" down there anyway. ]
Urm, no. Not that one. It's too dangerous. [ For both their libido and well-being. ] Maybe another recipe. I promise those don't contain dragon blood. [ But he couldn't promise that some would have ingredients that enhance one's sexual prowess. ]
no subject
[Look, he enjoyed that kiss too, so he had to make sure he didn't have a growing problem of his own (he doesn't, it was probably too brief) and maybe in the process of looking back up his eyes... lingered. Trying to see if he could see what he felt earlier.]
All right, that-- that's fine then! I said I wanted to help, after all.
no subject
Didn't help that Reign too stole a quick look downwards. Maybe it was due to Shell's pheromones that had affected Reign more than it did Shell. ]
G-good. With the perfume, right? Yeah. Just... sit down somewhere, and I'll bring the samples with me.
[ Reign was certain that Shell hadn't meant helping with his boner problem; not that he would mind, but that's another point! So Reign went to one of the corners of the living room, a small area with a table that he used like a miniscule perfumer's organ, soon returning with a few tiny glass bottles as he sat down beside Shell. ]
Some of these are still in their experimental stage. Which would you want to start first? Spicy? Fruity? Floral?
no subject
[A QUESTION HE SHOULDN'T HAVE ASKED he's just gonna clear his throat, pretend he didn't say anything.]
[But okay, which should he choose... floral might just remind him of hiss pheromones again, and spicy sounds a little dangerous when things are still this tense, so--]
...why don't we start with something fruity?
no subject
Anyway, time to start with the experiment! ]
Okay, then. This one.
[ He picked a bottle labelled "Mochi", spritzing on a long strip of paper, letting the scent settle before passing it to Shell. Rather than describe the scent in detail, it was better to have Shell smell it without clouding his judgement.
The fragrance would start off light and fresh, with a hint of apple, then mellowing to sweetness, ending with something like vanilla. What Reign had yet to fix about this scent was to balance out the amount of those ingredients. He may have put too much, because had the possibility to enhance one's libido and act like an aphrodisiac. ]
What do you think?
no subject
[But okay, he takes the paper strip and brings it up close to smell it. He's not usually a fan of fruity scents, but apple is subtle enough that he doesn't mind it too much.]
[But there's something else there as well... something that has him pausing as he sniffs it again, a brief shiver running up his spine. He doesn't realize it, but his cheeks have started to flush.]
Oh, this one's pretty nice... is that vanilla I smell?
[He's gonna start fidgeting in his seat here in a bit.]
no subject
Yup, you're right! Good job picking that up. There's a bit of apple too.
[ Shell seemed to like it quite a bit, though Reign wondered about that flush on his cheeks. ]
Try it again, see if you can smell the apple this time.
[ Alert, alert! Bad idea!!! ]
no subject
[And just like how he could now pinpoint the subtle apple smell, the effects that were subtle before are now much stronger. The blush to his face increases, his breathing grows heavier, and his whole body starts to feel hot. But unlike with the dragon blood, he notices it this time -- and it doesn't exactly feel pleasant.]
[He tugs uncomfortably at the collar of his shirt, frowning as he lowers the strip.] H-Hey... did it just get a lot hotter in here, or is that just me?
[He also has a problem now, if Reign happens to look down at his lap.]
no subject
I don't think so. The temperature is the same as always.
[ But yeah, Shell was showing an expression that definitely scream "turned on", or something. Maybe it mixed badly with the earlier perfume? Some scents lasted longer, and shouldn't be combined together.
Reign reached out to take the strip from Shell, simultaneously catching sight of that bulge in the other's trousers. Oh... Oh well. ]
Urm... I think it's you. Or this scent, actually.
[ Just to be certain, Reign brought the paper up to his nose, unless Shell stopped him before that. ]
