steponme) & OPEN
What: Catch-all Log, now with open prompts!!
When: End of April - Start of May
Where: Olympia
Warning(s): Awkward boners, violence
Fight Club | cw: violence, mind control
[For those who venture down to the see the underground fights, they might find a peculiar scene waiting for them. Standing in the arena and awaiting his opponent is Shell. But for those who know him, there's really no questions that he's not exact;y the fighting type. What's he doing there? Well...]
A. VS (Previous CR only please!)
[...it looks like he's your opponent today. He doesn't look very intimidating, not particularly dressed down beyond having taken off his jacket and scarf, and he doesn't seem to be holding a weapon of any kind. But something you might notice is that a good chunk of the crowd seems to be stepping back. You probably haven't seen what he can do yet -- but even the refferee looks a little standoffish, climbing up over the barricade to stand atop it, out of reach. But as for Shell-- well, he didn't expect to see anyone he knew here.]
...what are you doing here?
B. Domination (OTA)
[...it looks like his battle is about to start. If you're smart, and you've chosen to follow the crowd in sitting in one of the higher seats, then you'll only see the "battle" play out. Shell enters, and just as his opponent starts getting into stance to fight, he suddenly freezes and collapses to his knees. As Shell steps closer, the man starts to scream, pleading for it to "stop" -- whatever it is. Eventually, Shell leans down and whispers something to him, and he starts screaming for the refferee that he gives up.]
[But if you were curious enough to stay as close to the ring as possible, then you'll get to experience what those sitting in the higher seats can only watch: a strong sense of fear and dread seemingly emanates off the battle arena, causing those sitting closest to experience effects similar to the man in the ring. Some start crying, others scream, but most of them only stand and stare in petrified silence. Even the refferee seems affected for a few moments, taking far too long to end the match and give Shell the win.]
[And the moment he does, the heavy atmosphere disappears as suddenly as it appeared. But as Shell heads off stage to wait for his next match, for some reason, he doesn't look very happy about it.]
[ooc: Feel free to alter prompts as you see fit! Let me know in Prompt A whether your character will be effected by Shell's pheromones, as they have a 25% chance of failing entirely. Please note that if you choose to have your character sit too close in Prompt B, they will be affected as well. If you'd like to avoid that, have them sit further back!]

[But does he need to leave? Maybe there was no particular reason to stay, but it's hardly like Shell wanted to chase him out. He liked the company. He even takes a seat on the couch again, pausing only for a moment when he sees the blood-stained scarf from before, frowning briefly before setting it aside.]
[His concerns aren't exactly unfounded. He might have agreed to drink human blood, but that doesn't mean he's going to give up on finding a different source eventually... nor does it mean he'll drink human blood regularly, either.]
Reign's the son of Blood Lord too, but his pheromones are weaker than mine are. If you could manage to stand up against mine, you'd probably have an easier time resisting his... not that he'd ever use them on you.
[Reign Fear: the vampire who absolutely doesn't live up to his name.]
no subject
He takes a seat next to Shell, huffing a laugh.]
Yeah. He’s not the kind of guy who’d do that.
[Reign Fear, the cuddliest vampire.
Chuuya settles back against the couch cushions, not paying the scarf any mind.]
So why are you and Reign so different from the other vampires in your world? You said that humans were treated like livestock or toys, but neither of you treat us like that.
no subject
I don't really know about Reign. He must have been cut from a kinder cloth... he was always kind and gentle, especially when we were kids. He never treated humans poorly, but... I was still surprised when I woke up and found out he had so many human friends here.
[Which Shell might have expressed in some regard when they first met on the station. Reign wasn't that kind of abnormal, after all.]
But as for me... I've always loved humans.
[At some point while talking, he finds himself leaning back against the cushions as well, until his head finds a place to rest against Chuuya's shoulder.]
My father was busy when I was a child, so he had a human look after me instead. He was always so warm and kind to me... even though I know my father must have treated him poorly. But it was because of him that I started caring about humans. And even back then... I didn't like drinking their blood either.
no subject
[And he’d cried upon seeing a simulation of the storm. Crypires, man.
Chuuya is a little bit surprised when Shell rests his head on his shoulder, but he doesn’t protest or move away, instead settling next to him like it’s a perfectly natural thing to do.]
Sounds like he was a better father than your blood one.
[Of course Chuuya wouldn’t know anything about that given his background.]
I guess that makes sense.
[Feeding on humans when you’ve been essentially raised by one must be incredibly difficult, but hey, you do what you gotta do to survive.
Chuuya leans against Shell just a little, not unlike a cat leaning into someone’s touch.]
Do you like it better in a world where humans outnumber vampires?
no subject
...he was, yeah.
[It's said with a little uncertainty, but that's probably because he's never though of Ellie as a replacement for his his father. He felt like so much more than that -- like someone Shell wanted to hold and protect, rather then the other way around.]
I don't know if it's fair to judge this place when I've only been here for so long, but... I do like it a lot more.
It's a little strange, and I'm still not really used to having to explain what a vampire is every time it comes up. But it's nice not having to pretend to be someone I'm not.
no subject
I have to explain what a Mafia is to everybody too. Guess it was mostly just a thing in my world.
[Leave it to Chuuya to announce that he was a criminal back home to like, everyone.]
Vampires are pretty popular where I come from, you know.
no subject
[Chuuya are you about to tell him about Twilight.......]
no subject
[Like teenage girls...]
Some people find the whole biting thing sexy.
[”Some people”.]
no subject
[And here we see Shell, totally seeing through Chuuya's attempt to fluster him. Well, it's not going to work!! At least for like five seconds, while Shell actually manages a fairly teasing response... but not really thinking about how he'll handle whatever the answer will be.]
[But regardless: he tilts his head up at Chuuya, shooting him a playful grin.]
And are you one of those people?
no subject
That playful little grin from Shell earns him one in return, and Chuuya taps his chin as if he really has to think about the answer.]
Hmm...
[And now he’s leaning in reallllll close, like noses brushing close.]
Yes.
1/2
[But here we see Shell immediately returning to his true form, blushing and leaning back -- not that there's anywhere to go, since he has his head resting on Chuuya's shoulder.]
...o-oh.
[.........]
no subject
[Not that he really has any room to judge, but surely this is a fair question.]
no subject
Nah. That’s just a side perk.
[That he won’t indulge until Shell is more comfortable with drinking from him, if he ever gets there. He’d rather there not be tears if/when anything sexy happens.
Not sad ones, at least.]
Anyway, yeah, there were books and movies and plays all about vampires back home.
no subject
[Well, he's probably not going to cry again now, knowing that little tidbit of information.]
But I guess that's not that out of the ordinary. Most of the people I've talked to know about us from stories, too. Even if none of them are really accurate-- at least when it comes to Reign and I.
[The stories probably fit vampires like Diva better, even if she wasn't technically a vampire.]
no subject
[Chuuya’s lips curve into a sly grin.]
Well, at least Reign never turned into a bat. You on the other hand...
[Chuuya pokes Shell’s cheek with a finger.]
Were tiny and fluffy when I first found you.
no subject
I still can't believe that actually happened. We don't have anything magical like that were I'm from.
[Well, aside from pheromones, but that's Science™, not magic!]
...are your powers considered magic?
no subject
[Chuuya enjoyed it, at least.]
Nope. They just exist where I’m from. Nothing magical about it.
[Honestly it’s not much of a stretch to call abilities magic, but shh.]
There’s all kinds of abilities. Combat, information gathering, illusions. Almost anything you can think of.
no subject
If it's not magic, then how does it even work? It's one thing for you to be able to float around, but you made me do it too...
[And this is not an invitation to let him experience it again!!]
no subject
[It works with pretty much everything and everyone except Dazai.]
I dunno the in-depth scientific stuff about it. It just works.
[He could go into how he’s a bit different from other ability users, but that requires a higher social link.]
Reign seemed to love floating around.
no subject
[It did sound pretty cool. Floating in the air, walking up walls and ceilings...]
...n-not that I want you try it again. This is the first time in ages where I haven't felt nauseous after eating, and I want to keep it that way.
no subject
[Chuuya yawns; it’s not terribly late, but still, he has a right to be tired after being fed on, even if Shell really didn’t take much blood.]
So do you and Reign not like the sun? I know the other stuff isn’t true, but I wondered about that.
no subject
It's not so much the sun as it is the heat. Our world is-- was a lot colder than this one. The sun was only up for a few hours, and it was too cold for much of anything to grow, except for trees and some weeds.
But that's ideal weather for vampires! We don't really feel cold anyway.
no subject
[Wyver is much more uncomfortably hot and humid, so Olympia was a good choice on Reign and Shell’s part.
Cue Chuuya yawning again and resting his head against Shell’s shoulder once more.]
Mm. I should head back soon.
[He says, not moving.]
I dunno how much sleep vampires need, but you should rest too.
no subject
[And it's not even summer yet... he'd probably just melt if he tried going to Wyver during the day.]
[But warmth was fine -- and the warm feeling of Chuuya's body against his was pleasant enough to have him reluctant to move.]
We sleep about the same as humans, I think... [...] But if you're tired, you can just sleep here? It's only fair, after I stayed over on your birthday.
no subject
[Pot. Kettle.]
I dunno, I don’t want to make Reign jealous. He’s already caught us sleeping together once.
[And yet Chuuya isn’t moving, instead shifting to lay down with his head in Shell’s lap.]
But I’ll stay if you want.
