Warning(s): Awkward boners, violence
Fight Club | cw: violence, mind control
[For those who venture down to the see the underground fights, they might find a peculiar scene waiting for them. Standing in the arena and awaiting his opponent is Shell. But for those who know him, there's really no questions that he's not exact;y the fighting type. What's he doing there? Well...]
A. VS (Previous CR only please!)
[...it looks like he's your opponent today. He doesn't look very intimidating, not particularly dressed down beyond having taken off his jacket and scarf, and he doesn't seem to be holding a weapon of any kind. But something you might notice is that a good chunk of the crowd seems to be stepping back. You probably haven't seen what he can do yet -- but even the refferee looks a little standoffish, climbing up over the barricade to stand atop it, out of reach. But as for Shell-- well, he didn't expect to see anyone he knew here.]
...what are you doing here?
B. Domination (OTA)
[...it looks like his battle is about to start. If you're smart, and you've chosen to follow the crowd in sitting in one of the higher seats, then you'll only see the "battle" play out. Shell enters, and just as his opponent starts getting into stance to fight, he suddenly freezes and collapses to his knees. As Shell steps closer, the man starts to scream, pleading for it to "stop" -- whatever it is. Eventually, Shell leans down and whispers something to him, and he starts screaming for the refferee that he gives up.]
[But if you were curious enough to stay as close to the ring as possible, then you'll get to experience what those sitting in the higher seats can only watch: a strong sense of fear and dread seemingly emanates off the battle arena, causing those sitting closest to experience effects similar to the man in the ring. Some start crying, others scream, but most of them only stand and stare in petrified silence. Even the refferee seems affected for a few moments, taking far too long to end the match and give Shell the win.]
[And the moment he does, the heavy atmosphere disappears as suddenly as it appeared. But as Shell heads off stage to wait for his next match, for some reason, he doesn't look very happy about it.]
[ooc: Feel free to alter prompts as you see fit! Let me know in Prompt A whether your character will be effected by Shell's pheromones, as they have a 25% chance of failing entirely. Please note that if you choose to have your character sit too close in Prompt B, they will be affected as well. If you'd like to avoid that, have them sit further back!]

[And speaking of-- his head still hurts, so he's just gonna very, very carefully step over Reign (no looking up his robe!!) and out into the hall.]
I'm getting something for this headache... have a better excuse ready when I get back.
[Behold: Shell at his most tsundere, hungover and cranky. But he'll only be gone a minute or so, of course.]
1/2
Awww, I was hoping to snap a few more pictures.
[ Disregarding the fact that Reign didn't have his phone with him at the moment.
Either way, when Shell stepped over him, Reign pretended he was a good vampire boy and not trying to peek under Shell's robe. Look, he couldn't help it. He was always curious to see how Shell was like underneath. Maybe next time he should whip out a ruler. ]
Take your time, Shell. No hurry.

Uh, last night...
[ Reign briefly avoided Chuuya's gaze, then back at the redhead. Should he ask? He didn't want to, not without Shell. If anything, this was best talked about with all three of them together. But first!!! ]
A-anyway, I think you should... uh, put something on.
no subject
[Chuuya wonders exactly what Reign might’ve wanted to ask, but he might as well get up and pull on his clothes. Enjoy the show of Chuuya in nothing but his underwear, Reign.
Once he’s got his shirt and pants on he gathers the rest of his accessories, all of which he’ll put on later.]
Nothing happened. Really. If it ever did, I’d want him to be sober.
[But he supposes he’ll stay long enough for Shell to come back and give his own side of the story.]
no subject
As for Reign, he stole a few glances at Chuuya, admiring the planes of his muscular body despite his smaller physique. It went to show that size didn't matter. A pity he couldn't stare longer. ]
Other than cuddling, I presume.
[ His lips twitched in a wry grin, almost teasing. Then a pause before he continued: ] I... heard the two of your talking last night. Well, this morning, since it was after midnight.
no subject
Other than that, yeah.
[Chuuya sits on the edge of the bed, crossing one leg over the other.]
How much do you know about One? Shell still seems pretty hung up on the guy.
no subject
I don't know him very well, but enough to know that he means a lot to Shell. Didn't like him at first. I actually hate him for the pain he'd caused Shell, and I don't mean physically.
[ He remembered the prison guards talking about Shell, the rumours that he'd gone "crazy" and stopped feeding on humans. ]
no subject
[Who caused like a million different insecurities and hang-ups in Shell. Not exactly a great guy.]
It sucks that he feels guilty for being who and what he is. That’s no way to live.
no subject
[He didn't exactly close the door behind him, and their place really wasn't that big. Which means when he rounds the corner, now carrying a bottle of pills and a glass of water for Chuuya, he has a pretty sour look on his face.]
[...not that he actually heard everything, since he didn't mean to eavesdrop. But he heard enough.]
no subject
[ Which Reign didn't feel comfortable sharing with Chuuya, because that may implicate Shell. He knew the ending to their relationship, but this was a "different" Shell, to put lightly. Same but not quite. Neither knew what happened after that, the entire incident with Humpty Dumpty and Jack. Maybe if and when Shell regained some of those memories, he'll tell him.
He jumped when Shell spoke from behind him, chuckling sheepishly with a caught-red-handed look. ]
Shell! I didn't see you.
[ Lousiest excuse. ]
Where's Scorch? Let me go get him.
[ Making another excuse to try and walk past Shell. Look who else was an expert at being evasive? Not unless Shell stop him. But since Shell's hands were full... Yeah, that was an underhanded thing Reign was doing. ]
no subject
I’m not saying you can’t miss him, I’m just saying what he did sounds shitty.
[Chuuya leans back on his hands, unfazed.]
How are you feeling?
no subject
[But he is going to be a little petty and close the door, so Reign can't eavesdrop. He walks over to the bed to give Chuuya the water and pills, hesitating for a few moments before sitting beside him -- but a short distance away. Any more cuddling is probably off the table for now.]
My head hurts still. But it's not that bad.
[He's lying, but only because there's something he wants to say -- something he knows that's gone unsaid all this time. Mostly because he's purposely avoided it. Maybe it was a heavy topic for the morning, but given he'd rather not spend the next few hours trying in vain to defend One's honor, he'll concede at least this much.]
[And maybe -- hopefully -- he can finally make Chuuya understand why he chose to live like this.]
You know... I never told you the real reason I stopped drinking human blood.
I don't know whether Reign knows it's the reason or not. But it had nothing to do with One.
no subject
Chuuya figured a serious discussion was coming, but he thought that maybe it would be about how upset Shell is that Chuuya would talk badly about the man he loved.
This is less awkward, at least.]
Yeah? What happened?
no subject
[He keeps his eyes focused down at the ground, his voice soft and steady. Maybe it's better to be telling him all of this now and not before -- his emotions aren't going to get the better of him right now.]
I've already told you some things about it. But even what I've told you so far... I've watered down a lot of it. Because I didn't want you thinking less of me. I spent thirty years turning a blind eye to everything, not even questioning it. When I look back now... it all feels so obvious, that I can't help but beat myself up over it.
[He really can't emphasize enough how sheltered and ignorant he was before. Maybe Chuuya can't imagine it, a Shell who professes to love humans and yet seemingly ignores their suffering -- but that's the truth of it. A few small acts of kindness here and there does little in the face of the sheer amount of blood Shell's consumed over the years.]
Until I came here, I'd never seen a human older than 40. I used to think it was just the nature of our world... the climate was too hard on them, their bodies were too weak... but that wasn't it.
The reason there were so few humans... and the reason they died so young, was because my father and the other Blood Lords released an epidemic every year to keep the population of humans low. So the supply of blood would be small... increasing demand and profits for their Blood Banks.
[Just thinking about it has his stomach turning, remembering how casual his father had been about it all.]
[Would Shell have taken over that work someday as well? The fact that he doesn't know is probably the most twisted part of all.]
My kind took everything away from humans. Their names, their blood... and even their right to live. Knowing all that... I couldn't bring myself to take part in it anymore.
no subject
Well. It certainly explains why Shell was so disgusted with his own kind. Chuuya’s brows furrow, a look of utter disgust on his face.]
An epidemic? On purpose? That’s fucking vile.
[Chuuya won’t pull any punches, but he also doesn’t blame Shell for any of this. Sure he might’ve stayed willfully ignorant for a while, but obviously he’s suffered for it and is willing to atone for his sins. That’s really all he can do now that his world is gone and there’s no one to apologize to.
His expression softens then, and he rests his head very lightly on Shell’s shoulder.]
At least you see that it’s wrong, and you’re making up for it, right? And it’s not like you knew how bad it was until later, so I don’t think you’re a shitty person or anything.
[Chuuya has done plenty of terrible things in his life, after all.]
Is it forgiveness that you want? Or just to get it off your chest?
no subject
[It's not like Shell didn't understand what Chuuya meant when he explained what a mafia is. The idea that Chuuya might have even been considered a terrorist in his world, much like the Red Mask back home, is certainly a thought that's crossed his mind. But for some reason, it doesn't bother him as much as it should. Or maybe he's just biased because he's human.]
But I'm not arrogant enough to think that I'll be "forgiven" if I just deny myself of blood for a while. And I know this world is different -- the people are different. And there are people like you, who don't mind offering their blood to a vampire. Sometimes... this place really feels like some kind of dream come true.
[A dream he doesn't think he deserves. Especially not of all the people who could have woken up in his place. What would One think about it? A world where he could live truly free?]
I just... wish the humans back home could have lived to see this world too. Or the other vampires could have seen how a world like this could still work.
When I think about everyone still in stasis or who the Natha couldn't save... it just feels wrong to carry on like everything back home never happened.
no subject
[Chuuya being able to live with and get along with a former ADA member is a testament to that. Not to mention the bonds he’s allowed himself to make since coming here. Back home he kept most people at a distance, partially for the their own safety and also to protect himself. But here?
Here he’s selfish enough to want to be close with others.]
It sucks that they won’t be able to see it, but you got to live, so might as well make the most of it, right?
[He’s sure that Shell will endure plenty more guilt and suffering before he can finally move on, but at least he seems to be on the right path now.
Now if only Chuuya could find his own path.]
Thanks. For telling me all this, I mean.
no subject
[He never thought he'd be accepted by another human like this. One was different from other humans -- his pheromones weren't even an issue between them. But with his pheromones not working properly anymore and the rules of this world being so different, he doesn't have to worry about getting close to other humans anymore.]
[The fact that he was able to get to close to someone like Chuuya so soon after arriving -- maybe that's the part that feel the most like a dream.]
...but I think I'm going to lay down a little more. My head still hurts, and I'm pretty tired. [He turns, returning a shy smile back to Chuuya.] You can stay a little longer too, if you'd like.
no subject
[...he never learns...
Chuuya yawns, and much as he’d love to stay here and sleep the day away, he should get home and take care of his bird. He stands up and stretches, head still pounding but feeling better than earlier.]
I should go. I’ll be around, though.
[With that Chuuya takes his leave, but it definitely won’t be the last time they see each other.]
