[ may catch-all ]
Who: Loras Tyrell (
triplerose) & OPEN
What: A collection of open starters.
When: The month of May.
Where: Wyver and Olympia.
Warning(s): TBD.
[i. OLYMPIA]
[ A) Loras can be found on the beach. Upon hearing that Flona Cove is open to non-Olympians, he couldn't pass up the chance. He remembers it fondly from his arrival, and he recalls it as being the first time he's felt any sort of happiness or rest in a long time. His mood this time is much better. You can find him either sitting in the sand and soaking up the sun (he's fortunate enough to turn golden rather than red), splashing about in the waves that are rolling in, or wandering the vendor stalls. ]
or
[ B) How can he pass up the allure of fight club? Loras isn't one for fist fights, but when he stumbles across it, he's excited to watch. Maybe it's something he should practice. Watching the fights definitely makes him think it'd be a good idea. When he cheers, it's generally for no one in general - though there's maybe a preference when it comes to fighters from Wyver. ]
[ii. WYVER]
[ A) With the opening of Highgarden being approved, Loras feels more like himself than ever. He's missed this, really. As much as he loves being in the Knightryders and enjoys the arenas, this is the missing piece. Training, passing on his knowledge and love of his craft to others. He's taken care to set it up as much like his old training grounds as he could, but what he really enjoys the most is seeing the Tyrell banner flying. It's never going to be home, but this is close, and it's the best homage he can think. Come find him to chat about it, or do some sparring, or maybe get some pointers. ]
or
[ B) The turn in weather has been very welcome. Like the natives, Loras welcomes to warm(er) weather with open arms. With the city emptied out as everyone goes to enjoy Flona Cove, he's taking the opportunity to wander the streets and enjoy the heat. With less people milling about, it's quite relaxing. Run into him at the stables, getting his mare ready for a day of riding, or maybe you've crossed paths in the quiet streets. ]

What on earth are you doing here?
[It's good to see him--it always is--but it's unexpected.]

They've opened up the cover for us. The people in Wyver. I'm glad to visit it again.
no subject
Really? Guess I missed that. Does that mean we'll be seeing more of you here?
no subject
Perhaps not too often. I've a training grounds to run now. [ Yes, he's very proud. ] But I've fond memories of this place, and it's nice to visit it again.

[Moping around and being a nurse, mostly, but that takes a surprising amount of one's time.]
no subject
[ He smiles, not wanting Claire to feel as if she's not paying attention. She has her own problems to worry about. ]

Lest the matriarch woke without her knowledge, this must be Loras' doing. There was only one way to find out. So she pushes open the door--unlocked--and steps inside the shop. ]
I'd never been to Highgarden before.
no subject
I'm afraid it's not quite matched the glory of Highgarden, but I suppose as heir to it, I have the duty to revive it.
[ He walks towards her, giving a slight nod in greeting. He feels they aren't quite at hugs and handshakes seem too detached, and he certainly won't bow to her so this seems a happy medium. ]
It's good to see you.

[ She's a returning smile, the corners of her eyes crinkling. It's as best to expect between allies and the start of a friendship not yet fully explored.
Then she's looking around, curiosity getting the best of her. ]
Is that your intention? To bring a piece of it here?
no subject
[ Loras had promised Margaery, before her return to stasis, that he was going to do what he could to return them to their status. And he misses home. He'd never missed Highgarden this much when it had been there, a ride away from Storm's End, but now it's gone he can't help but wish he could go. ]
I'm afraid you'll find it as exciting as any knight's training ground.
no subject
[ His next sentiment has her huffing a quiet laugh. ]
What's not to find exciting about that? A new thing to see. You forget I wasn't surrounded by knights growing up.
no subject
[ He gives her a nod of his head, an acknowledgment of his social bumble. ]
I can't imagine my life having been without it, in truth. Though I think every young boy in Westeros had dreams of becoming a knight.

MAAAYBEEEEEEEEEEE the first wyver one
He doesn’t miss the addition of a new banner among the others lining the street, and he’s pleased to find a familiar face when he pokes his head into the shop. Fortunate for both of them, he’s in good spirits today. ]
All the gardens I’ve known have been home to plantlife, but I suppose nothing in here requires watering. All the better. Steel would only rust.
[ He peers around with a good-humored smile. ]
You seem to be in good health, monsieur. What is this? Training grounds?
ur gonna be the one who tags meeeee
[ He smiles, obviously pleased by it all. Loras looks so relaxed in the space, more present and in command than his typical wallflower self. ]
I've taught some refugees the art of swordsmanship, and how to ride. This seemed a natural progression.
AND AFTER ALLLLLL
[ His tone implies no conceit or egotism. It’s just a mention, spoken with a faraway sort of look in his eyes that comes from more than the glass of wine he’s already consumed this morning. He misses home, and sometimes he even misses his occasional hobbies. ]
Unfortunately, I was never skilled. I merely enjoyed the sport.
[Typically when Grantaire claims to be unskilled, it means he harbors skill to some extent, but fails to see it. Thus is the case here, though his drinking habits and lack of practice have slowed him down. He sees how much happier Loras is, though, and how much more in his element he seems to be. He considers them to be friends, and that leads him to his next thought. ]
I've been told I'm impossible, but perhaps you could help me to improve.
[ For as long as his motivation holds out, at least. ]
no subject
[ Loras leads Grantaire through the grounds, though there's little there to see, but because walking around it still feels wonderful. ]
I'd be honoured to assist.

That does make sense in many cases. Enjolras enjoys political debates, so he excels in political debates. Another friend enjoys poetry and excels in the art of verse, but I fear I have an advantage over no one in anything.
[ He follows Loras, smiling. He’s likely to wander away from these practices sooner than later, but it does give him great joy to see Loras so much happier. In the short time they’ve known one another, he can truly say he hasn’t seen him this happy. ]
But I'm grateful for your help. When would you like to begin?

So some time in the afternoon, when Renly hopes Loras will be less busy, he goes to visit.]
Excuse me, I hear I can speak to a man about jousting lessons here. Do you know anything about that?
no subject
[ The corner of his mouth turns up. He can tease, because he's seen Renly try to learn jousting, once many many years ago, when they were hardly young men. ]
Well, what do you think? [ Loras stands beside Renly, hands behind his back as he looks at the grounds. ] Have I captured some of the likeness of the grounds at Highgarden?
no subject
[He slides his hand over Loras's back and looks over the grounds with him, immensely pleased.] It looks remarkable, Ser Tyrell. You've done your home proud.
no subject
[ There are touches, too, of Storm's End, where they could be fit. And Storm's End was as much home for Loras as Highgarden, and Renly was as welcome in the Tyrell's home as Loras himself.
He leans over to bump his shoulder against Renly's. ]
I find I miss it less every day.
