Who: Axel (
icingonthecake), Kagari (
hedonistic & All Y'all
What: It's (maybe) the end of the world as we know it, but we feel fine.
When: Saturday, 26May, all day starting around 11am
Where: Thesa Station Mess Hall and surrounding areas
Warning(s): idk, Axel's manning a grill, make sure there are fire extinguishers handy.
(this is a spur of the moment silly mingle sort of log that anybody can hop into, or not, it really has no bearing on anything and just seemed like a good idea at the time. come have fun! there are sub-threads for different areas, or feel free to make your own top-level, Axel and Kagari will be milling about but y'all can thread amongst yourselves as you like it, THE GROWNUPS ARE GONE WE CAN DO WHATEVER WE WANT.)
Anyone who finds themself on the station today may find themselves sniffing the air, wondering what that appetizing smell is. If they follow the smell, it might lead them to the mess hall, where Axel and Kagari have essentially commandeered the whole kitchen and dining area. If you're not on the station, that's fine, too! Everyone will receive a note in their inbox late Friday night, inviting them to pay a visit to the station today for some food and festivity and maybe even some hijinks. Everyone is invited!!
As you enter the cafeteria (if you dare), you'll see that the tables have been moved to one end of the room, leaving space for about four tables that have been pushed together to create a buffet. There are hamburgers, there are hot dogs, there are steaks, there are... no vegetables in sight, who eats those, gross. There is soda, there is juice, there are possibly more desserts than there is real food. How was this accomplished? Magic. Where did the food come from? The world may never know. Is the whole station about to go up in flames? Possibly. Probably. But who cares? The Orbiters have abandoned us, so if this is the end, we might as well have fun with it, right? Across one of the walls is a hastily painted sheet, hung by the corners, telling you all you need to know about exactly what's happening today.

Never should have left these kids alone, Orbiters; you'll never get the ketchup off the ceiling.I mean... what ketchup on the ceiling? How'd that get there?
Everyone is welcome to come grab a bite to eat (after all, we shouldn't let this food go to waste, if we're all about to meet our doom), chat up old friends, maybe make some new ones before the end of days. If you investigate beyond the cafeteria, in the Simulation Rooms you'll find several games available, courtesy of Kagari and Axel's imaginings and memories of home. There's DDR, table tennis, and some oldschool computer games ala Tron-era. (Feel free to imagine up your own favorite games to share with your fellowdoomed refugees!)
At the entrance to the Stasis Unit, you'll find a basket of assorted flowers and leaves collected from various places around El Nysa. It might not be much of a sendoff, but if we're all about to kick it, at least you can leave a flower for your loved ones, and say one last goodbye.
Maybe the Orbiters had a perfectly normal innocuous reason for suddenly getting the hell out of dodge. Maybe this is just business as usual. But if it's not? It would be a damn shame to have the whole planet blow up without a good blowout to commemorate the occasion, and who better to spearhead such an endeavor than a couple of sort of not exactly undead ex-mafia assassins?
In their defense, the end may be nigh, and they were left unsupervised.

Send help, these guys really don't know what they're doing, but they're trying, okay?

Somehow though, the flowers and decorations make her angry. Sure, she could give up maybe but if everyone else was just consigning to their fate and giving up too... it didn't set well with her, at all.
She does what she always does though - she finds her mother, father and brother's pods first. And then she finds Zuko's pod so she can just drop her flowers unceremoniously, more tossing them than nicely laying them down. There's a bitter taste in her mouth.]
You're an idiot. And so is everyone else.
