Open Post for Jean Prouvaire
Who: Jehan Prouvaire (
pluspetitpoete) & everyone
What: Open Post
When: June
Where: See prompts for details
Warning(s): None
Wyver Prompts:
i: The Blessed Waters. Jehan is deeply pleased to have a job. After some exploring, he found there were loads of little shops in and around The Blessed Waters that were more than happy to have an extra set of hands around. While he's not yet trained to make the drinks, he can at least serve them to customers. He's also able to collect and safeguard clothes for those wanting to go for a dip. He's more than happy to help you.
ii. The Market Place: Now that he has a few coins in his pocket, he's excited to explore the marketplace. He's been a few times of course, but hasn't been able to purchase anything. Perhaps he'll get something to make a nice dinner for his friends. Or some new clothes from himself.
Olympia Prompt:
i. The Market Place: While he loves the market place in Wyver, Olympia has much more interesting clothing! Their shops are fantastic and the cloths and fabrics they use to create the clothing entraced Jehan. He can't stop feeling the hems of dresses and the arms of shirts as he wanders through, quietly in awe of all the wares.

Wyver, I. I DECIDED TO GET YOU HERE INSTEAD
He’s already learned Wyver well, both through his own exploration of it and though word of mouth. The Blessed Waters have always been on his radar, but never been worth a visit until now. They have a cold spring, and that is certainly the most welcome source of relief he can think of right now. All the better that Jehan works in the area now as well. ]
My dear Prouvaire.
[ He smiles, though he looks as though he’d rather be sleeping. ]
I thought that I might find you here, as I do recall that you did announce you would be here. I am pleased to find that my memory has not betrayed me after all. Has the cruel word been treating you kindly?

[ He rests his own elbows on the counter, resting his head in his hand and looking dangerously close to falling asleep right then and there. Waking up earlier than noon and staying awake are not things Grantaire is particularly used to anymore. ]
That is a lie, Prouvaire, and I apologize for it, though seeing you has brightened my dreary day significantly more than a ray of sunlight. I came with the intent of seeking out the cold spring.
no subject
You've come to the right place, then. And I am, as always, happy to brighten your day. Perhaps the cold springs will serve to wake you up, a little?
no subject
[ He does smile despite his grim words, as he so often does, and gently pats Jehan on the cheek. He is vaguely aware of not wanting to upset him this time, though, so he’s quick to add: ]
I’m more likely to wake up before that can happen, surely.
no subject
And then they'd bring you back to me and I'd fuss at you terribly for giving me a fright like that.
no subject
[ Grantaire always spoke negatively of himself and of the world in general. The isn’t half as harsh as he can get, or half as harsh as he’s been in the past. He practically welcomes cruel words from Enjolras because they mean Enjolras is listening to him, but he doesn’t know what to do with kind words. What has he done to earn them?
He squeezes his friend’s hand, eyebrows knitting together because Jehan sounds so sincere. ]
I would dislike very much to be fussed at by you more than I am now. If I requested it, would you be able to join me instead of a guide?
no subject
Give me a moment to make arrangements?
no subject
[ He holds up his other hand, raising his eyebrows before Jehan can even begin to speak. ]
I see that look, Prouvaire, and I will have you know that my pockets are full today. Lucky for us, I often have far better luck with gambling than I do with most other things.
[ He is quite good at gambling, it's true, but that's only where half the money came from. Easier to round it all up to gambling than admitting to a job, really. ]
no subject
He returns with a coworker, giving them a wave and coming around the counter to join Grantaire.] We should be all set for a little while.
Shall I be your guide?
no subject
He actually smiles properly when Jehan joins him once more, pleased that he won’t be alone. ]
Shall you? I would want for nothing more.

They're meant to have healing powers, you know. I wonder what our dear Joly would feel about such things. He'd probably give us a lecture about polarities and which way the pools are facing.
no subject
[ He isn’t, not right now, and that’s the sad joke. He would quite like to be, but there will be time for drinking later. ]
I’ll have you know that my boots have never let me down.
[ All the same, he doesn’t know the way on his own, so he grips Jehan’s hand and allows himself to be led through the winding paths. ]
Everything is meant to have powers of some sort here, isn’t it? [ He doesn’t like it. He doesn’t like that he has to believe in it. It disrupts his entire belief system. ] Joly would fear hypothermia, if we stay in too long. A limit of fifteen minutes would be his suggestion, I think. Perhaps less.
