Atsushi has been planning this for a while now, but needless to say, a certain dragon forced him to adapt his plans, and arguably not for the better. Still, he's determined to make this work! Diva told him she's never had a birthday party in all of her long life, and that is just not all right - so of course he promised her she'd have one this year.

He... should have maybe not said anything, and just done this in secret. Or at least he should have known better than to ask Diva what kind of party she wanted, because she sure had a lot of wishes... That's Diva for you, though. Besides, after more than 170 years without a birthday party, she deserves to say exactly what she wants!

Atsushi has spent more time than he probably should have, decorating a part of Nadril's cave system with fairy lights and anything else he could find. For being in a cave, the setting is very atmospheric! There's food, drinks, and recorded music - not all of it suited for a party, but there are instruments too, for the more talented guests.

A masquerade was Diva's first and foremost wish, and with everyone having limited means and fewer possessions here, masks have kindly been provided by your hosts at the entrance. Some are classy; some are a little unusual; some are -....... Well, you should probably be at the party in time, so all the good masks haven't been taken yet. How well have you disguised yourself? Did you bother to hide your identity at all?

A gift for the birthday vamp is appreciated, but your presence is the biggest gift. There's no better time than the present to forget the unresolved situation elsewhere on the planet, and have a little fun together!

_{[Yeah, she literally has been so into eating the cake she didn't realize she got it all over her face. Good job, Diva. Don't mind her as she sticks her tongue out to lick at her lips, accomplishing nothing of value.]}

[Nope, that definitely didn't accomplish very much at all. Ren transfers his cake to one hand so he can make a motion of rubbing a bit at his own cheek with the other.]

No, there's still a little bit there, maybe try touching your face to find it...or licking it off your fingers before you do that. At least it's really bright and easy to find~

[There might be napkins somewhere, but nobody wants to eat leftover cake stuck to a napkin.]

<sub>[That's a protip right there, warning her to lick her fingers clean before she touches her face. It's comical, the way she pauses, iced fingers reaching for her face, before she pulls them back to lick away the remnants of her birthday cake exploits.

When her fingers are "clean" she goes to drag the pads of them down a cheek, pulling them back to inspect what she might've wiped off her face in the process.]</sub>

I guess I did make a mess of myself, huh...

A little bit. [Ren's tone remains cheery as he says that, though he elaborates on it a moment or two later.] But it's your party, and if you can't make a mess of yourself at your own party, then where can you do it~?

[With that bit of sage wisdom, Ren finally takes a bite of his own slice of cake, successfully managing to not get it on his own face even if he thinks using actual utensils for cake is boring.] Oh, this is good...who made it for you?

Well, I make a mess of myself a lot of the time.

_{[It's true. She's a messy girl, quite literally. The number of dresses she's ruined with dirt and bloodstains would be a pain to count at this point.]}

But you're right! It's my party so I can do what I please.

I got it from a bakery in town. It's super yummy. I know you can cook but do you like baking too?

That's the spirit~ [Being in the right mood is always important for a party, especially if you're the host, though as far as Ren's concerned, the right mood for the host of a birthday party is "doing as they please".

He breaks off another piece of cake to eat while she's talking, though he smiles widely at the question and makes sure he's done with his food so he can answer properly.] I haven't done it as much as I've done cooking, but I think it's pretty fun as well. And you get to decorate things that you bake a lot more than things you cook, so that's extra fun.

I've always wanted to decorate a cake...it always looked like it would be fun.

_{[And messy. Clearly there's a theme going on with her.]}

If you bake something you should let me decorate it.

[Letting someone with absolutely no experience decorate a cake would probably be a bad idea to a lot of people. But Ren is decidedly not "a lot of people", and he instead looks pretty taken with the idea.]

Oh, I should! It's really kind of a shame you've had to go so long without getting to do that, didn't you say you were turning something like a hundred and seventy five...?

[He taps his chin thoughtfully for a few moments before seeming to remember something.] Oh, right, happy birthday, I said it on the post but I should say it today as well.

Mm...I'm pretty old...but not compared to other vampires I've met!

It doesn't mean you should go much longer without doing it, though~ [And the smile is cute despite the fangs, so hey, that's worth having told her happy birthday twice. If it took this long to get a birthday party, clearly it needs to be made up for.]
