_{[There's a shake to her head that's quick, accompanying her answer as she leans into Lance's touch.]}

No way, I wouldn't. Not at all.

_{[She crawls a little closer, in an attempt to settle herself in his lap. She's not exactly graceful as she goes about it, but she manages to accomplish what she set out to do.]}

I'll never get tired of it.

[Well if Diva wants to come closer and sit on his lap, Lance is just a-okay with the change in plan. He's not one to turn down opportunities to cuddle with the people he likes, and maybe the truth is just that he needs that just as much as she does. He shifts a little so they can both be comfortable and wraps his arms around the small of her back.]

Guess that's one less thing I gotta worry about then.

[He's teasing of course, but there's no denying that he has been doing a lot of worrying in general lately.]

<sub>[One less thing to worry about is always a good thing, especially when worries seem to plague the two of them as of late. Diva herself has a lot of things she's been worrying about and Solomon is shit at giving her the actual attention she needs. Lance is soft and warm though, smells good and alive. He's present and that's enough for now.

Now being the few moments she takes to really settle into his lap and hook her arms over his shoulders.]</sub>

What I am tired about is people leaving me. For now you won't leave me, right?

[His brow furrows a little at that. He loves spending time with Diva, not just because she's so beautiful, but because she's so much fun and loves what she loves so unabashedly and Lance feels so lucky to have befriended her for real. But sometimes the things she says are so relatable that it feels like it may as well have been taken straight out of his own heart.

Maybe he ought to be joking about this instead to keep the atmosphere light and pleasant, but the words come out a bit more solemn.]

If I ever leave, I promise it won't be by choice.

[It's all he ever wanted to hear from his friends.]

<sub>[Ah...how many promises have been broken to her by now? Atsushi had made a similar promise, but he'd ended up back asleep in a pod. She doesn't fault him for it, but it had hurt. JJ too had ended up with the same fate but he had ended up shunning her once he'd seen her true nature in action. She couldn't fault him for it either, but she had warned him what she was.

She's never been dishonest about her inhumanity.

There's a quiet pause between them, the silence drawn out as she stares at Lance, settled in his lap. He's a sweet boy and she likes him, wants his company and to keep him around. Realistically though just how much would he want her around if he saw what she was capable of? Wouldn't he be like the rest? There's a tilt of her head, dark strands falling over her shoulder as she meets his eyes.]</sub>

Even if you saw me do something terrible?

[Oh. So she's gotten serious too, huh? It doesn't take much thought for Lance to know what his answer is, but he prefaces his words by moving his hands up to her shoulders.]

Even then.

[There's a lot about Diva that he doesn't know. He's only heard fragments about her life, and he's sure there may be a lot of things about her past that are upsetting. But that said....]

Cuz no matter what terrible thing you do, I know you have a good heart. No matter what you did in the past, I know that's not the person you are now. You're my friend and I'll always believe in the best of you.

_{[Her hands may be small but there's a lot of blood on them, both past and present. His hands are warm, firm but gentle. She likes the weight of them on her shoulders - for the moment, she feels grounded.]}

You're one of the few who think that, Lance.

<sub>[Not even Saya, her own twin who she had shared a womb with thought highly of her. Sure, they had begun to mend their relationship here but that had been cut short. His words touch her, truly they do, and she wants to believe them so terribly. Even their time together here will be cut short in the end, regardless of whether he gets stuffed in a pod again or not - he's human and she's immortal. In the end she's always going to be alone.

But maybe, just maybe, she could keep him by her side forever...it's just something he'd have to agree to. They're not at that point yet.]</sub>

_{[Really, really sweet. She leans closer, squeezing him to herself in a hug, tucking her chin against his shoulder.]}
