"Once we're inside I want you to let me look for signs of frostbite."
So she could get that taken care of immediately.

"I think I'm all right."
Hypothermia is the more pressing issue, but he thinks they've got a handle on that as well.
"Are you my doctor now?"
no subject
And she immediately sat back in the boat and seemed ready to stop doing anything at all to tend to him. She was hardly a doctor but she also was just as much an expert in healing as one. Perhaps more so than some because she knew how to make cells repair at a more rapid rate.
There were certain benefits to being a genius geneticist.

He's been through much worse and is very confident in his ability to weather a little hypothermia. Gabriel smirks a little when she tests him, and leans back in the boat himself, pulling the blanket tighter.
"I know you wouldn't let me freeze."
no subject
And she even smirked right back at him. Moira found she was enjoying this little conversation. Then again, Gabriel did seem to be one of the few people below her intelligence level who didn't constantly end up with her looking down her nose. He had a wit about him that she appreciated.
Plus, she was fond of keeping him as her little...pet project as it were.
"Freezing you could produce interesting results."

Gabriel might be a little crazy, and he might have different thoughts about being a test subject than most of the general populace, but he's not terribly keen on something like that. Still, it doesn't change the fact that he's trying to get a handle on his newfound powers.

Moira smirked but simply looked past him to see where the shore was. Not much longer now. Then they could stop somewhere to get him dried off and warmed up a bit. Perhaps even get him dry clothes.
"A shame I don't have access to Doctor Zhou's research. It could be interesting to experiment with it on you."
Not that he would be aware of the resurfacing of the woman but that was fine.

Or was, he guesses. Gabriel hasn't really gone out of the way to look for her in a pod. He knows, on some level, that this is what joking between the two of them looks like, and he feels a smirk on his face in spite of himself.
"Kind of a stretch."

Oh sure the rest of the team all died due to complications but Moira was ready to ignore that in favor of the success. The failures could be analyzed later to make sure mistakes were not repeated, of course. But first she wanted to thoroughly study how the success took place.

The last he'd heard of her, her entire team had been lost to a freak antarctic storm. If what Moira says is correct, well. Of course she'd be interested in something like that.
He doesn't add anything else until the boat drifts ashore, and Gabriel cuts the motor and ropes them to the dock.
"Let's warm up and then get this back."
no subject
That would be a start. Moira could at least be sure his feet would be protected while they walked in the snow.
She really didn't need him losing toes.

He clambers out of the boat, dragging his shoes and wet clothes with him. Still, he pauses as she instructs, pulling socks out of said boots and then cramming his bare feet into them. It's wet, and it squishes, and he makes the appropriate face.
At least they're out of the water.

Though their friendship was a rather...unique one. One couldn't often say that friends shoved each other into icy water or experimented on them. Then again, having any sort of normal relationship with Moira would be...a unique experience. Simply because it wouldn't happen.
Tugging her collar on her coat up to protect her neck, she moved the device out of the boat and then headed towards where she could see shelter. They'd start there. Perhaps steal clothes if they needed to. She wasn't picky.
