Who: open to all!
What: The Aqours Spooky Get Yohane Magical Powers Halloween Extravaganza...which is a super extra way of saying a Halloween party. It's a Halloween party, y'all.
When: early October
Where: a local restaurant in Olympia

The Halloween party is in the back room of a local, family style restaurant. What used to be a banquet hall is decorated with fake cobwebs, crepe paper, and garlands of pumpkins, ghosts, and cats. A lot of the decorations are hand-made, courtesy of Yoshiko and You. There's an open space in the middle for dancing and mingling, some food tables along one side of the room, and some games and entertainment on the other side. There's a table with various hats, animal ears, and crowns for people who didn't bring a costume. Most of them are made out of cardboard. There's a very beat-up boombox in the corner, obviously borrowed from somebody, playing the El Nysa version of hokey Halloween songs like "The Monster Mash" and "Flying Purple People Eater."
The food is fairly standard Halloween fair. There's a large bowl full of candy, as well as some pumpkin flavored breads and muffins. There's a large punch bowl of something that's green, but is really your bog-standard lime sherbet/lemon-lime soda combination. The oddest thing on the table is some jet black takoyaki, labeled "Tears of a Fallen Angel." The label does not tell you that these things are spicy as hell and flavored solely with Tabasco. There's enough space on the table to fit more food, should your character decide to contribute something that isn't 'way too much sugar' or 'something that will melt your tongue off.'
The Halloween games are simple enough. There's a 'pin the tail on the donkey' though you're pinning a broomstick to a witch. There's a large tub for bobbing for apples. There's also a table dedicated to touch and feel mystery boxes: you reach in blindly to touch what's inside. The labels say things like 'eyeballs' (they're really peeled grapes), 'worms' (they're really cold, cooked spaghetti), and 'hearts' (it's a peeled tomato). The party's going past the closing time of the restaurant, so enjoy some slightly spooky nonsense!
( ooc: feel free to make a starter and tag around! Even if your character didn't reply to Yoshiko's post, it's possible that they heard about the party from somewhere else or just came in from the street: Yoshiko isn't turning away anybody. )

[Nott has even less sense about this than Molly does, this party was doomed from the start.
So, Nott glances around to make sure no one's looking too interested in the two weirdos by the refreshment table, and... yeah, there's a few people giving them glances, because they're a lilac devilman in a technicolor dreamcoat and a mini mummy with amber cats' eyes that shine in dim light, but it's about as ignored as they're going to get, so she just upends her flask in the punch anyway.
Thankfully, because she's trying not to get caught, she doesn't end up making the thing more liquor than juice, but it's not for lack of trying.]

Well, maybe not for Yoshiko and her friends, but if Molly ends up puking in the street, he'll be happy.
He just gives the onlookers the biggest grin and a wave, which does something to keep them from focusing on Nott too much. They're trying to figure out if they should maintain eye contact with Molly's fucking demon seal eyes or if it would be rude to avert them. Fortunately for them, Molly chooses for them once he hears Nott screw the cap back on her flask.]
Well done. You've drastically improved the party. [He ladles some of the concoction into a cup and takes a swig... and makes the fucking worst face, because no matter how often he tastes it, Nott's whiskey is like 1000 proof.] The fruit juice really improves the burn... A little. [Cough.]

She looks a little smug that she still managed to make Molly pull that face after a sip despite holding back (slightly) on portion size.]
Now we've just got to get one of our new bards to do karaoke.
[She means Yoshiko or You, the latter of whom she still barely knows and just met tonight, but still. She's a Fighty Five member for life.]

[At least someone in that circus (probably Desmond) was a bard, but all he really knows about the subject is "play music good, make you hit better in fights, make you die less yay." He also knows that bardic inspiration is tingly and feels nice, even when unnecessary.
He takes another sip of the fruit and vaguely 1000 proof whiskey flavored punch. The taste improves. The burn does not. Whatever Nott's gullet is made of, it is not of this plane. Someone who doesn't have Molly's tolerance is going to need bardic inspiration to survive it. This was probably a poor decision.

I mean... Look at me. [And by some miracle, he doesn't immediately point to Nott and call her on needing a leash. The only reason he doesn't is because Yoshiko is entirely someone who is going to be a fine bullshitter one day once she stops believing her own bullshit to the point of putting herself in danger.] Would you want me being me with literally no way to defend myself if it goes wrong? That's where You's standing right now. You'll see if you can catch up to her.

[She understands that. A little too well, really. It's not so much the way that she protects Caleb, not really. It's closer to the way Caleb and the rest of the Mighty Nein protect Nott. Because Nott is the one always getting into trouble.
And maybe it's not an exact comparison. It's much different in a lot of ways, really. So Nott feels less empathy and more sympathy for the two girls—You seems to be only recently learning bard skills to protect Yohane as well as others, and Yohane is... completely defenseless.]
Maybe You could use some help with that. We're the Fighty Five now, after all.

[Somewhat, anyway. He's sure You and Nott can commiserate about squishy friends/children. But he has plans for Yoshiko. That kid is going places.]
And I plan on doing just that. I've been putting some ideas in Yohane's head, getting her prepared for the world and how to make her way in it. She's a natural charlatan. She just needs to buy into the bullshit a lot less.
