Who: Matt Murdock (
thatmurdockboy) & open
What: Exploring his new home
When: Anytime in November
Where: Prompts for both Wyver and Olympia
Warning(s): None/will update as necessary
I. Wyver
For someone as well-versed in the ways of the subway as Matt is, it's easy enough to get around on the train system. So he takes advantage of it to visit Wyver, as well. He's been told there are dragons here. So far he hasn't run into any, but he keeps his head cocked, listening for -- he's not sure what, exactly. What noises do dragons make? A hiss, maybe? At least he'd be able to feel the change in temperature if they breathed fire near him. Maybe even before. Even after twenty-five years, almost, of adjusting to his senses, apparently there are things that can still throw him.
He and Danny live in Olympia right now, though Danny said he'd be happy to move, so he might as well explore a bit. He walks slowly, sweeping his cane out in front of him to make sure he doesn't hit anyone (or anything) while he adjusts to the new sounds and smells. New York he knew like the back of his hand. This is all new territory, and it's a little frightening.
II. Olympia
When he first arrived in Olympia, he'd stayed pretty close to the house he share with his new roommate. But what little research he'd done on it had sounded interesting, and he's eager to explore. To push his own boundaries a little. He's already so far outside of Hell's Kitchen, he might as well.
Matt finds himself in the marketplace, which is a little disorienting. So many people talking at once, from all different directions. Usually he'd try to count heartbeats to see how many people were around him, but he thought he'd heard two heartbeats from the same place, and that just didn't seem right. But it's a new planet, with new people. And new -- possibly-not-people.
Anything can happen.

"Try not to show weakness. They eat that up." Ha-ha. His dad jokes are unparalleled.

"I wasn't aware I was on the menu. I thought it was the other city that had nasty, man eating creatures."

"Every place has its monsters, Murdock. You just have to know where to look."

He ended up being a client of mine. I'm a uh, I'm a lawyer, back home. Or I was."

"I'm pragmatic," he defends blithely, not sounding concerned if Matt disagrees. The rest is sinking in slowly - a criminal he defended, named Frank. He doesn't use those words, but Frank can read between the lines. "A defense attorney?"

If you're trying to rob me, I don't really have much of anything to take.
no subject
I was waiting for when you stopped walking. I don't need to rob anyone.
[Anymore.]
I'm Emori. You talked to me on the network, said you'd help me box.

I was just making sure you didn't forget.

He's gone off to get some money for some food - likely in a fight in the rings - and when he sees Matt he jogs over to him.
"Hey. How's it going?"
no subject
Maybe you can be my guide. Let me know if I'm about to step on any dragons? I've heard there are some, but I don't know how numerous they are."

He smiles, too, which Matt can't see but Danny's smiles are always evident in his voice. He waits to see if Matt wants to take his arm before they keep walking.
"I think they have a sanctuary, if you want to go visit it?"
no subject
He does shift his hand from Danny's elbow to the grip his arm loosely as they walk. "I'm not sure I'm up to that, just yet. They're smaller, though, aren't they? Or at least the ones in the sanctuary are."

Like the dragon frozen in stone.
"Hey, I'm an experienced dragon puncher, so you have nothing to worry about."

Olympia
He spots Matt in the market easily enough and weaves through a few people to fall into step next to the other man.
"Come here often?" There's humor in his voice as he delivers the cheesy pickup line.

I'm based in Olympia for right now, but we're keeping an open mind. Yourself?"
no subject
"I live here. I haven't spent too much time in Wyver yet, but my friends were already living here when I woke up."
no subject
Have you been in Olympia very long?"

Riverdale is no where as cool as the city, but she wouldn't be a big fish in a small pond there. Perhaps it's for the best.
"As you're probably wondering," she continues. "I'm petite, stunning, and a natural redhead." Now Matt can sleep soundly at night, knowing his newest teenage friend is a ginger.
