[He so does, and he actually gives a sigh of relief that she doesn't start going on about the state of the place (he and Quill are terrible bachelors and Mantis moved out) or anything of a small talk variety. He hates small talk.]

You need it to run wirelessly? [That seems simple enough.] One thing, though... What's it do?

[Because he knows what "chronal" means and he knows what "accelerator" means, but context clues mean it's... a device that... speeds up time.

...Huh.]

[ Here's the fun part -- explaining what the machine is. ]

Keeps me locked to the present so I don't go jumping around time. I have ... this ... thing, an accident happened and long story short; without this, I don't exist like a normal person. [ Which sucks. A lot. She does miss the days where she didn't have to worry about disappearing because her accelerator might be a little too far from her. ]

Also lets me have minor control over it.

The deadest of dead-eyed stares.] Y'know, the crazy part of that is... It actually makes perfect sense.

[Inasmuch as anything around here does. Since the Storm, he's sort of had to reevaluate what makes perfect sense and what doesn't.]

Heh. It's a good thing I don't screw things up [besides his personal relationships HEYOOO], 'cause that could be a big risk you're taking here. I've never seen anything like that.

[ Maybe. Her gut says to trust and believe him so that is what she's doing. ] Does this mean you're likely to be able to do that then?

[ Her face lights up and she inches closer to him, eager to hear what his answer is going to be. She's even doing a small little dance as she moves her hips side-to-side, trying to contain her excitement. ]

It ain't hard to put a wireless signal on something within a certain range. [His ears flick back a little- he can't help but be taken aback by a faith he doesn't know he's exactly earned, even if his ego is screaming JUST ACCEPT IT.]

So I hope you weren't hoping to run laps around the Outposts while this thing stayed here, 'cause that might not be workable at the moment.

[Okay, but... he has to ask.] If you're so convinced the Celestials can fix this, then why come to me at all? Why not ask them to make it wireless?

Huh, nice. Then it should be an easy job for you to do. [ Yes, swimming without having to worry about it is a go! And sleep -- oh, she can actually sleep in decent peace now which is big news for her. ]

I don't need it to be that big. I like keeping this on me so I can actually, y'know, control my time.

[ It does some real wonders when she is out working. ]

... ... I don't know. I mean, makes sense for me to ask them, but, I kinda trust you more than some strangers that aren't always around.

I mean I trust trust 'em as far as I could throw 'em, myself, so that's a good answer.

[Which he means genuinely- the tension eases out of his shoulders a bit, because for a moment he had to wonder if there was something else to it. Paranoia is a tricky bitch.]

And I do owe you, anyway, so at least you're not gonna have to pay for it. [a shrug.] All right, lady, you got yourself a deal.

[ Lena giggles at his response. It's nice to know that they're in the same boat with that because while she knows they might mean well, she can't just trust anyone so easily. ]

Great! [ She does a small fist bump to the air. ] So, where do I unload her and how long will it take?

Here's fine. I ain't exactly got a shop up and running yet. [He moves towards a box of parts stuffed surreptitiously under a table and yanks it out to rifle through it.] Gettin' it done's the easy part- shouldn't take longer than a day. I just gotta make sure I have the right stuff here.

[ she wastes no time in taking the harness off her body and holds it out for him to take when he's ready. ] Hopefully you don't mind my company then because I can't really go out without it.

[He takes it with much more care than his aggressive personality would suggest. He might be indelicate with other people's feelings, but machinery is something else.

He freezes a little bit at the word company, looking like he might shove it back at her, because whenever he thinks he needs something is the second he wants to kick and punch and say NO I DON'T NEED THAT AT ALL.] Uh... Sure. Place is usually pretty quiet. Quill's always at his job wooing the masses who're too dumb to realize he's a loser, and Mantis moved out.

[ clapping her hands together, she is beaming with happiness -- which isn't any different from how lena normally is, lbr. ]

I promise to be quiet! Or not quiet if you want to talk... I'm not sure what type of worker you are, so just tell me where to sit or stand or to talk or not annnd ... you get the point.

[He has to say probably, because, really, it's hard to tell with him. He's just being honest here.] Don't take anything too personally. I'm a dick, everyone knows I'm a dick. You adapt.

[ Raising an eyebrow, she crosses her arms. That's really blunt and honest which catches her by surprise because Lena wasn't expecting that.

She snorts. ] I'm sure that handling you will be easy then.
