[slightly aggravated] Yes, I built it. [He starts walking, expecting him to follow him. It's not very far, at least.] I need an environment to make sure you don't get some kind of weird malfunction when I put this thing on. Trust me- metal poisoning is terrible. Ideally, I need to make sure there's a seamless merge between the fleshy parts and the metal parts.

Hm.

[ normally, he wouldn't be as eager to follow someone, regardless of what they're doing for him. but his curiosity gets the better of him in this case. he watches as rocket starts toward the clinic, but soon, sesshomaru joins him. ]

Metal poisoning...?

[ it hits him almost instantly. he's speaking about the arm, of course, which has been an issue for him since his half-brother severed it. there's a phantom pain there when he remembers when the tessaiga had cut him, and places his hand over his bicep instinctively. ]

It isn't my body that wouldn't be able to handle it. It is the arms themselves that cannot sustain the demonic energy. [ but, if it's metal— ] Do what you need to.

[ he'd give anything a chance if he can have a workable arm again, quite frankly... ]

Uh-huh. Demonic energy. Right. Well, as long as demonic energy don't feel a whole like a significant amount of electricity, this should probably fix you right up.

[Rocket feels that giving this guy a hand (HAH) means he can be as smarmy as he wants about the whole situation. It's nice to have all the power, especially when dealing with pretentious pretty boys who were way more amusing when both of them were drunk.

Once the clinic, looming large over the Noble's district, comes into view, Rocket strolls in like he owns the place, makes some excuse about needing to wait for Mantis and finds an unoccupied corner, "borrowing" some supplies from behind a counter.] All right, fancy man, are you ready for a serious upgrade to your lifestyle?

[ he can't say he follows completely, but for keeping his end of the promise that even sesshomaru manged to forget, he can't help but trust him. there's confidence in his voice and mannerisms despite resembling a tanuki that is undeniable for even someone like sesshomaru. normally, this behavior would have made him dislike the creature, but in this case, it's reassuring.

maybe this attitude had grown on him when they were drinking together... who really knows for sure.

regardless, he seats himself nearby, his expression unchanging. ] Sesshomaru.

[ is a small correction, but it doesn't matter to him what he's called; those are trivial things... he quietly disrobes the upper part of his kimono, letting one side roll off his shoulder. ]

What is this... arm capable of doing? [ that is to say, yeah.. he's ready?! ]

[Rocket removes a metal arm that has been covered in some some sort malleable plastic that resembles flesh, even if it doesn't quite match Sesshoumaru's skintone. It's better than just having a random metal arm and gives it a nice layer of protection.

Also it has a red stripe. Because aesthetic... or Rocket remembers dumb details when he's drunk.]

Eh. It's stronger and more durable than a fleshy one. I couldn't go in for anything real fancy, but if you get in the market for an upgrade, at least I got a base model.

[ sesshomaru isn't picky. he's tried several arms, demonic or otherwise, and they've varied in terms of shape and size. unfortunately, none of them ever worked for long.

it's interesting to him that he'd keep the stripe there, though, effectively matching the one on his other arm. ]

This is impressive work. [ even he has to admit that... ]

You're welcome. [Rocket climbs up on a stool so he can be at shoulder level.] Next time you're in a barfight and you punch someone into the next building over, just remember that, even drunk off his ass, Rocket keeps his promises.

[a beat, as he lines up the metal arm with the stub to make sure everything will go properly, completely unaware that... Sesshoumaru's weird demonic arm fusion energy is probably gonna make this surgery part pointless.] ...If that promise benefits me in some way. So tell your friends.

[And also tell them that they all will be in his debt forever.]

[ but he supposes that rocket is on par with that now. and maybe a few others not with mentioning, but don't worry. ]

[ he'll protect him... even though rocket doesn't seem like someone that needs saving if he's capable of such weaponry. but as soon as the metal is lined up with the severed part of his arm, it's as though his body absorbs, assimilating with it.

sesshomaru hisses; the pain is excruciating, but it doesn't make him lose his cool. ]

Yeah, they're overrated, anyway. [HAHAHA FRIENDS. WHAT FRIENDS. ROCKET DOESN'T HAVE ANY FRIENDS EITHER. WHO NEEDS THOSE, AMIRITE?

Ahem.] But I could always use allies [that I've basically manipulated through services rendered into trusting me].

[He might be on the way to say something else, but the second he's starting to calculate how best to connect metal to flesh, he's treated to... that. He makes a noise and stumbled off the chair, hitting the floor with enough force to probably wind a normal animal. He skitters to his feet and stares, wide-eyed.]

The fuck is- shit. That's never happened before.

[It seems to have... actually done what it needed to do, but that doesn't change the fact that his body sort of just

absorbed
