Who: Miles Edgeworth (
milesedgeworth) & Phoenix Wright (
objectionattorney)
What: Nightmares, traumaversaries and late night talks.
When: Dec 28th
Where: Olympia, House 69
Warning(s): Death mentions, comfort, will update warnings if needed.
[He was a child in an elevator, his small hand in the warm calloused hand of his father. His dad had lost a case but he was still so very cool in the courtroom. He was really excited that he could come to see him in action. Miles squared his shoulders and lifted up his head. He was going to be just like him when he grew up. He was sure of it. His dad smiled down at him, the small crow's feet around his eyes crinkling as he smiled. Miles couldn't help but beam himself. He felt warm and safe with his dad.
Suddenly he was in a small metal room. Were the walls closing in? everything was shaking the world was falling apart and surely he was going to fall, and fall and fall... into the depths of the dark earth. But he didn't. There was arguing and all he could do was feel the cold metal against his small hands. The gun he picked up seemed huge and heavy, somehow getting bigger and heavier as he held it. He threw it and it went off. The sound was so loud. It reverberated against the small walls of the elevator. was it shaking again?!
That scream, It was Von Karma or was it, Gregory? screaming that demonic scream. But his face was morphing between his father and his mentor, and all he could focus on was the hole of their mouth extending screaming and there was blood so much blood. Large hands grabbing his torso and dragging him out. He clung, screaming himself, no no no no He couldn't leave him. This was his fault. All his fault!]
NONONONONONOOOOOOO! I WON'T I CAN'T. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry.
[It was so dark, the sweat had soaked through his pajamas and he couldn't stop shaking.]

Something was wrong. Miles was screaming! Something was wrong!]
Miles!
[It was almost through sheer instinct that he rolled over and reached out to his boyfriend. Nudging at his elbow with his hand as he attempted to shake the other man into a more lucid state.]
Miles! Are you okay!? What's wrong?
[Was he hurt? Was he in pain?! Did something happen when Phoenix was asleep? Why wasn't he there to protect him? Should he open the network and ask for an emergency doctor? Perhaps he should drag Miles to the nearest carriage and take him to the medical outpost. Maybe he should ask for help through the network...
Wait... Was Miles still asleep?]
... Miles?

Muh...mmmm....f...fine.
[He took another deep shaky breath.]
...dream...
[Would he never be free of this? ]

[He knew Miles had suffered such things. And he had seen the occasional fit in the past ever since they started sharing a bed together, but it had never been this bad before. In fact, this was something entirely new.
Sitting up, Phoenix took a moment to look Miles over, his expression stained with worry. He was tired, groggy even. Part of him really wanted to just curl up back to sleep. But he knew he had to care for Miles.
Now more than ever.]
Here... Do you want something to drink? I can get you a glass of water.

He shook his head and grabbed the bottle next to him, drinking down the cool water he kept by his bed.]‘
I’m sorry.
[He said finally, still visibly shaking from the adrenaline.]
I-I can’t stop them this time of year.
They get really bad. I should have warned you.

[The tiredness in his voice was slowly beginning to fade. His focus now seeming to adjust as he woke up a little more.
Regardless, he wasn't exactly sure what to do. He knew how hard this time of year was for Miles, and he fully understood why as well. He also understood that that sort of pain couldn't simply be healed with a pat on the shoulder or a hug. And so he sat there, watching him, making sure that Miles was calming down as quickly as he appeared to,]
I remember you mentioning you had nightmares...
[Even though that was so many years ago...]
You wanna talk about it?
