[ frankly, archer is the diametric opposite of cayde as far as his job as security here is concerned. from looking at him, there's never really any doubt that he's here to do his job, and that alone; from the way he silently glowers at patrons, it's also pretty obvious what that job is. if anything, he has more of a dissuasive presence than anything else - an unspoken assurance that if you try to start anything, it won't go well for you.
thankfully, that changes when he's off the clock. though he's no less surly as a patron, he at least doesn't seem to be actively daring everyone around him to step out of line. he's usually content to just quietly sit drinking alone at the bar, either in front of or behind the counter; he's probably not supposed to be back there making his own drinks, but he always finds himself there regardless. ]
Your shift just starting? [ he's at the bar now pouring himself a drink when he notices cayde arrive... or maybe cayde was always there... i don't know, maybe archer isn't as attentive as he likes to think he is. either way, archer's shift just concluded, so he presumes cayde is here to replace him. ]
Thankfully, it's been quiet so far today. [ now it just needs to stay that way. ]
[Cayde’s been here a little while, but for the only robot around, he blends surprisingly well. He's coming back to sit with a drink of his own when Archer addresses him, and Cayde nods.]
Clock starts in a few minutes.

[ he raises two fingers - that's how many people he's had to throw out. granted, the day shift always tends to be a bit less rowdy than the night, so even three incidents isn't exactly a "quiet day" by most standards.
archer just swirls his drink a bit, before finally taking a sip. ]
Though perhaps this is just the calm before the storm. It's been a little too uneventful for my liking lately.
