(GENERAL OPEN POST! Party style, do what you like, tag around, have a good time.)
[This is the first time Venom's been in a bar that has a resident doctor. It makes sense considering the models' health and the possibility of fights. Honestly, it's kind of brilliant the more he thinks about it. During a particularly slow night, Venom takes a breather from his shift and makes some tea before wandering off. May as well get to know the doctor in case he has to deal with a rowdy patron. And said rowdy patron ends up with a pool cue to the gut.
Imagine his surprise when he comes around the corner and finds the office.]
[ John's in the middle of sorting a supply cabinet when a familiar voice greets him, and he turns over his shoulder to check and— oh! well, this is a face he recognises. ]
Oh, hi! —Yeah, I do. [ no shit, John. ] You on the, uh...?
[ bar, is what he's asking, but he let's it dwindle into nothing just in case Venom's job involves rendering Other Services. it's not his place to judge, and frankly he wouldn't care, but there's still some ingrained English prudishness in him and a subsequent willingness to let other people bring it up first. ]
[Venom wasn't quite interested in challenging his loyalty any more than he already had, so he chose this path. Not that he has anything against the models. Far from it.
It's kind of nice to have another familiar face working here.]
[ good, glad that went off without a hitch. at the mention of his night, though, John's mouth hitches at the corner. despite the odd hours and the complete ridiculousness of essentially the entire situation, John gets a wry kick out of his job. ]
Nothing broken yet, so I'd say slow.
[ broken... bones? is that a joke? isn't that a joke? who knows. John's smiling regardless. ]
[If it is a joke, it manages to get an amused snort out of Venom. He's sure John will soon see his share of broken something. Or injuries due to broken furniture, glasses, etc.]
Maybe soon you'll get your first patient of the night. Something to make it go by a little quicker.
[Because being idle was one of Venom's pet peeves as an assassin. Sitting there and watching a target and waiting to strike. And then it would turn into hours of watching and waiting. No more.]
Thank you again for the tea. [He presents his cup] It's been keeping me awake during my shift.
[ there will, inevitably, at some point this evening, be a first patient. that's the majority of the appeal of the job: all the joy of the emergency room with none of the pressure - and typically none of the less savoury bodily functions. ]
Oh! Yeah? Glad to hear it. I'm impressed you bring it in - I just pinch a steady supply of the bar's stock.
[ not afraid to admit that. Koralle presumably wants her doctor alert, so a little nightly dent in caffeine stocks can't be that much of a loss. ]
[That confession doesn't seem to affect Venom at all since he feels coffee and tea are vital to night shifts. He knows he's consumed quite a lot back home.]
I wanted to bring some in case we weren't allowed to touch the stock for ourselves. It's good to know that if I forget it at home, I'm not completely out of luck.
[And it tastes amazing. Like a little slice of earth in a cup.]
I feel like I should get back, but I'm positive there's no one at the bar.

John? I didn't know you worked here, too.

How's your night going?
[It's code for "it's boring out front".]
