[ After the successful retrieval of her hat, Juvia planned a special day with Lance (and by proxy, her roommate) to work on making gifts at her quaint little house in Olympia. Even though she's not all too open to houseguests, she still makes an effort when events like this crop up.

It's why she's meticulously cleaned an already clean house with Rin, set up everything she's done so far on their coffee table, and prepared a few pillows on their couch in case their guest gets uncomfortable.

Juvia rearranges the clothes on the table just one more time, staring a little too intensely at it. It's clear from body language alone that she's thinking a little too hard about how to answer the door. ]

Rin, Lance should be coming any minute now.

[ Y'ALL THINK RIN KNOWS THIS BIG WORD??? He repeats back (incorrectly) in unison with Juvia, giving concerned, confused glances between the two of them - especially since Juvia's reaction is so bizarre. ]

[ he yelps, jumping back nearly five whole feet away. ]

To, to think that you would assume such naughty things about Rin and Juvia....

[ IF IT WAS REALLY GRAY SHE WOULD BUT THATS DIFFERENT!!!!!!! ]

Ju...Juvia can't take it, this tension between all of us!!

[ DONT MIND HIM WHILE HE YELLS!!! AND HIS FACE TURNS BRIGHT, BRIGHT RED. ]

We're not dating - or anything else!! Juvia has Gray, and I already - [ FLUSTERED PAUSE. ] It doesn't matter!! Why would you even think that!?

[ there's that name again, gray, who the heck is gray—

wait what tension??? ]

Y-You said you were living together! Just the two of you! I dunno, it made sense at the time!

[ WHY IS EVERYONE YELLING ]

[ All the yelling and shrieking just gets Juvia more riled up, face turning into a nasty shade of red as she drapes herself over the counter. ]

M..made sense..... Does, does it really seem like that?! Have people been thinking that this WHOLE time?!!

[ She turns desperately to her roommate. ] Rin, how many people have you told?!

[demonly]

I didn't think it was weird, so I told everyone!!!

[ He'll just. Pull his hands down his burning face, staring (a bit sadly) at the amount of spilled lemonade on the floor. ]

Maybe Lance is the only one who thinks that...there's no way everyone thinks that!!

[competing]

[ at this point, lance just wants this entire moment to End. ]

Y-Yeah! It's probably just me! I'm a total weirdo!

[ Juvia stares hard at the glass of lemonade somehow left untouched by the chaos of what just happened. Everyone will think she is a floozy, a no good homewrecker....

Lance and Rin trying to cheer her up does little to help her frozen state. ]

Yes... Everything is fine. No one else could possibly think that.

[ Rin's just gonna. Grab a towel hanging beside the cupboard so he can mop up what was spilled, wanting to give himself something to do in this awkward and heavy silence. ]

I knew ya were acting weird for some reason...

[ MAYBE IF HE JUST... CHANGES THE SUBJECT ]

Ya watch too many romance movies or something?!

First of all, you can never watch "too many" romance movies, [ lance says around a petulant huff, crossing his arms. what's wrong with loving love!

but alright, okay, they should focus on... other things now...

he'll tentatively shuffle closer, glancing to juvia again. ]

So, um. Wanna show me what you've got so far?

[ The mention of romance hits her like a truck, it almost snaps her out of her stump, if not for the constant swirl of Regret that today happened the way it did. ]

Yes.. Juvia can show you what she has so far. [ She sluggishly turns to face Lance, drifting around Rin as he cleans and into the living room. ] They're over here.

[ Juvia gestures to the coffee table once they're free from the kitchen. Among the basket Lance brought in, there's various little articles of clothing, all intricately made with blue yarn, spread around on the remaining space of the table. ]

I tried doing more.. but we both got caught up in preparing for today.

[demonly]

[ Rin finishes cleaning the remaining mess, rolling his sleeves up so he can wring the towel out and hang it up over the sink. There's still cookies in the oven, which he checks on for a quick beat before finally joining the two of them in the living room. ] Yeah, Juvia seriously wouldn't stop trying to clean as much before ya got here.

[ He doesn't say it with the intent to embarrass her, just thinks its funny because...Lance doesn't seem like he would care. Don't mind him while he sits on the floor to look at the table more closely. ]

But this is frickin' cool... I wish I could do stuff like this.

[ But he can't even draw stars regularly so??? He doubts he can learn. ]

[competing]

[ lance looks each piece over with a critical eye but an overall air of approval. ]

You wanna learn? It's not that hard. My grandma taught me when I was like, eight. And I could barely keep still then. But I picked it up again when I was a little older [ to try and impress a girl, ahem ] and it was like riding a bike!

[ he straightens up to give juvia a thumbs up, though, lips spreading into a bright grin. ]

This stuff's amazing, though, Juvia! Way more intricate than I could ever do... I mean I can probably throw in a sweater or two, heh.

[ A small whine of Rin escapes her mouth when he mentions her preparing for Lance's arrival. It's embarrassing!! But the tinge of red on her cheeks only manages to grow stronger as she waits for Lance's opinion.

It's terrible, honestly terrible, the way she shifts closer to their guest until he finally speaks. Until he finally gives his approval. ] Thank you..! Ever since we moved in, Juvia has been preparing these.. But I learned young, too, how to do things like this. [ there's something so.. so calming knowing u have a comrade in arms..thank u lance and rin ]

I would love it if you could add more, Lance. [ She clasps her hands together in front of her. ] Maybe, we can teach Rin how to help, together?

[demonly]

Oh - ya don't have to do that! I'd probably just end up wastin' a buncha yarn, anyway...

[ Everything on the table already looks so nice, he doesn't wanna mess it up by adding an inexperienced piece. So, he just peers a little more closely at the clothes, pursing his lips and quickly reminiscing about how hard it had been for him to learn his craft at a young age. Juvia and Lance sure are cool... ]

Can something like this really be that easy?

[ lance just waves a hand in the air. ]

That's the great thing about yarn! You can't waste it so long as you don't cut it. Just give the end a tug, and you're right back where you started.

[ but thanks for thinking arts and crafts is cool, rin. ;A;

he turns to juvia then, slinging an arm around her shoulders in an effort to loosen her up. ]

Isn't that right, Juvia?

[ She finds herself nodding along to Lance's words, hoping Rin is encouraged enough to not be all too scared to venture into this big world of knitting with them.....

Juvia doesn't expect the arm around her shoulders-- it does the opposite for a few seconds, making her stiff at the contact. She manages to relax a little when she decides to smile in his direction. ]

Yes. He's right. It will be very easy having the both of us help you, Rin, if you wish to learn.
