[ Working at the Sanctuary has given Elena a purpose and focus she hadn't known she needed since arriving in Olympia. Her dreams of being a surgeon are pretty much impossible here thanks to the very different kind of medicine practiced, but she's still able to help people at the Sanctuary, bandaging wounds and taking care of simple illnesses. She's been learning as much as she can from the other Daughters, and while she certainly doesn't agree with some of the methods, the resources available on El Nysa are... interesting, to say the least.

Having moved into the dormitory at the Sanctuary, she can be found there most days, though occasionally she ventures out to the poorer towns to help treat the sick. It helps that she can't catch the illnesses herself, so she has nothing to fear of being exposed to who knows what -- one of the best perks to being a vampire, really. ]

[Working and living at the Sanctuary has been odd for Mantis. Here, as on Ego's planet, she has someone to direct and guide her in her job, though there is far more freedom than she expected. Mantis has the ability to make her own decisions, to do what she decides or feels is right; it's terrifying and exhilarating all at once. She is only a nurse here, though some of Lysa's Daughters have taken it upon themselves to teach her how to counsel patients.

So Mantis makes rounds to patients who are not even strictly under her care, to simply speak with them.

When she sees Elena -- a familiar face, one she recognizes as a fellow refugee and co-worker -- she offers a small wave and a smile.] Hello.
