❪ introlog: #2 ❫ THE CALM. -- the overflow.
You have spent the last few days on Thesa Station, taking in the knowledge that your world is no more. Perhaps you’ve made some friends (or maybe an enemy or two). Either way, you aren’t expected to spend all of your time on the Station. El Nysa needs you, after all, and you promised you’d help the planet thrive. Are you ready?
Submit any AC eligible thread of participating in this log's prompts for Two (2) Olympia REP points HERE. TRAVEL LIGHT ![]() You're really lucky, new refugee. Because of the efforts of those that came before you, your own descent into El Nysa will be quick and relatively painless. You get to reap the benefits of others' experience. Those that came before you are all well-versed in the art of teleportation now, and descending into El Nysa is simply a concentrated thought away. A teleporter has been placed in the common areas to help the new refugees descend, but for this first time, you're going to need a little guidance. You're going to need to take the hand of someone who has been on El Nysa for a while now and learn the ropes. Hold on tight, Refugee, and don't be afraid when the blinding light hits you. The actual journey will feel like a sudden whiplash— painless, but sudden, and maybe a little nauseating. Keeping your balance may be difficult, and it’s possible you might end up toppling onto your poor partner. Hopefully you’re at least thankful. You have landed in a back alley in the Residential District of Olympia. HOME SWEET HOME ![]() Immediately, you notice that everything you've been told about El Nysa is true. There are people of all races here, and although no one bats an eye at your appearance as you enter the district, a member of the Royal Guard asks for your passport. They have a keen eye, and can tell that although you may be a new refugee to their city, they've never seen you before. Certain rumors of an outside force making preparations to do some major damage has them particularly on edge. It's a good thing the Orbiters made sure you have an Olympian passport ready to go. You present it, and with a small nod, the Guard says nothing more and slaps a patch on your chest; to your surprise, it reads: Hello! My name is... No matter how much you try, there's no removing this sticker. "It'll come off tomorrow," says the guardkeep. "Lots of refugees here, limited housing. It's an easy way to get to know the people you're living with. Though, if you ask me, why are we accepting so many foreigners when so many want to watch this city burn? Well, I don’t give the orders." If someone greets you, the message on the patch will magically change: Secretly, I _____, _____, and _____!There's no telling how they'd known these things, but it likely has to do with Zasere. AGAIN. It may be a good idea to get situated in your new home and set down some ground rules with your roommates. There is also, of course, much of Olympia to explore. FLONA COVE
Word around the city is that one very cute and enthusiastic Olympian, You Watanabe, has been asking around earnestly for the nearest place to find some coastal fun. It didn't take long before a few locals pointed her in the direction of Flona Cove. Maybe it’s a good idea to check out the area. There are only a few more days left of summer, after all. Even if you're not the beach type, exploring a new area certainly can't hurt your understanding of El Nysa. Flona Cove is just a quick train ride away.
![]() BEACH PARTY: Chances are, you've heard about the beach party being organized by You Watanabe, whether it be from her directly or someone who knows her. A lot of careful planning has gone into it, and it looks like a great time, so why not check it out? EARN SOME SILVER 1. While many of the locals came together to offer their hands to provide a bit of entertainment for the surge in tourism, that isn’t to state that they’re fully staffed. Have a few hours to spare? They're willing to pay for your help. Maybe you’re just the cooking champ they needed? The lifeguard who showed up just in time? Or the star salesman at their humble accessory shop so desired? OOC
An AC-eligible thread for 2 OLYMPIAN REP POINTS may be submitted from this log. SUBMIT THE THREAD HERE by OCTOBER 15 11:59 PM EST.

But his focus remains on the sea.]
Aa. [He understands the difficulty of association, though not through the impossibility of explanation but the tendency of those tangential memories to creep in slowly until they've flooded.]
Do you enjoy the reminder? [Bittersweet, he imagines - though his own nostalgia isn't so serene.]
no subject
And yet.]
There's a lot I truthfully don't want to think about. But some things are nice, and I think I like this reminder.

Sea foam bubbles at his feet, sand eroding under his sandals; he watches with a distant stare.
He won't interrupt her rumination, instead letting it ebb back into the sea alongside the tide.
Only after silence settles in does he speak again.] Would you return to it, given the chance?

Kanade
[Sorry Junpei.]
But no, it's fine. A little wobbly, but safe! [Probably anyway. Maybe one of these days she will end up fused with someone.]
no subject
Honestly, she knows she's just dragging her metaphorical feet towards the inevitable anyway. Having a guide (who looks to be in one piece) with more experience helps ease the nerves...although wobbling, a little or not, doesn't sound like a good time.]
I'll follow your lead, then. I'm sure you can picture our destination more clearly.
no subject
[She smiles and tugs Kanade towards the pad. It's actually kind of weird for Anemone to even be using it, but she tries not to let it show.
It wouldn't have to have a nervous guide.] Just so you know, when you teleport from Olympia, there's no pad like this. And you cannot do it around the locals. I guess it's really important to the Orbiters that no one down there knows about the stuff up here.
no subject
So I just...find a secluded place, and focus really hard to come back? [While the trip down takes such a big setup?] Sounds. Easy enough.
[She doesn't understand at all.]

wildcard
it's ... peculiar, being on the beach, but if anything he's adaptable. instead of combing the beach to talk to others, he's sticking to the towels he and his roommate brought. that, and he's more interested in watching gulliver than anything else. this strange, strange lazy creature. what a national treasure. he's aware that he has fur, but -- ]
... Will he burn or overheat? [ anemone please explain. ]
no subject
She rakes her fingers through his fur and sighs, a little thoughtful.]
Maybe should find him an umbrella or something. Just in case.
no subject
That would make sense, yes. [ he nods, slowly. ] I'll keep an eye out for anyone that may have one we could borrow.
[ but until then he's kind of just .... holding a towel a few feet over gulliver. for shade. what has this boy become???? ]
no subject
Well.
She thinks that if something ever happened, Akechi might actually make sure Gulliver is okay, and that really means something to her.
Friendship is hard. And weird.
And kind of... okay.]
He's resourceful. If it starts to bother him, he'll move.
[Which might be a surprise but Gulliver does move sometimes.]

it's time.... free food
Well, it was, and he did. Considering he's running straight into Anemone on his way to one of the food tables, things might have just changed drastically.]
Oh, I'm-- I'm so sorry!
no subject
Hey! [His apology clearly goes in one ear and out the other.] Watch where you're going, huh?
no subject
You're right. [this is painful to say, know this] Could I make it up to you? I'm aware the food is free, but there must be something to replace it.
no subject
She considers his offer, wondering what she could get out of this complete stranger, where there's a limit. But really, she just sighs (over-exaggerating, of course) and rolls her eyes, not that he can tell. It was free.] Ugh, whatever. If this is some warped scheme to try and get a date from a pretty girl though, it isn't going to work.

i googled weird beach games for this
Hey, you made it. Great, because I found a game we're going to play.
[He points, indicating an inflatable game setup not very far away that looks like it involves an awful lot of swinging and bad ideas. Are you ready to kick his ass, Anemone? 1v1 him!!]
this is the best
So it's only a little surprising when she does finally see him, and even more surprising at his game of choice.
The surprise quickly wears off though and she looks positively thrilled.
Truly this is Junpei's most awful idea yet though. Fighting a girl that used her limbs to move and direct her mech in active combat. Thankfully, she's used to overcompensating, so moving a weapon like that will be difficult to get the hang of, and keeping her balance will be the greatest struggle.]
This looks fun! I'm impressed, Junpei. I might have to go easy on you though.
no subject
Seriously? [Indignant!! He crosses his arms and frowns at her. Hmm.] Is this because I jumped out of the tree? I was fine!
no subject
She holds up her arms in a truly superior shrug and grins.]
I just know I can win. Are you sure you're up to the challenge?
[Guess what Anemone is really competitive.
She's also already walking over and picking up some head gear.]

Think you have enough food there?

One day maybe she'll understand how to People.]
Hey! [It comes out a little odd because of the stick, which wiggles between her teeth as she talks.] No, I don't. There's still some stalls I haven't visited yet.
no subject
[ But he feels like she knows that and answered on purpose, so he'll let it go. ]
Seriously though, that's like...a lot of food. You going to be able to finish all of that?
[ Anemone is so tiny, and her food so much. Where's she going to put it all?? ]
no subject
I'm definitely going to try! And if I don't manage it, I'll just make Akechi eat it!
[Or Gulliver. Who currently isn't with her.]
