Hello my name is .... House #19 ... and all that entails [ Open ]
Who: Will Graham (
this_ismydesign & OPEN
What: A most Awkward Name Tag | Meeting the Housemates & Neighbors #19 | Thesa Station
When: Various times
Where: Olympia and Thesa Station
Warning(s): None for now!
A - That damn Name tag - OTA
Will tried to demure and out right avoid the name tag, particularly as he observed what happened when it was placed upon others and their inability to avoid the damn thing.
And he failed.
'Hello! My name is
Will Graham
I am in House #19
Are you my housemate?'
'My hobbies are dogs, fishing, and thinking about how to kill people
What are yours?'
He just stared at the damn patch for a long moment. Well it could certainly have been worse, however this didn't keep him from giving the guardkeep a flat look.
"Thanks." His tone was ... anything but gratefully, as he turned to walk further along into this new town. A house and housemates. This day just got better and better.
B - House #19 - OTA Housemates and neighbors?
Will stood in the center of the small space and slowly looked around. In all honesty, it wasn't any better or worse than his little house back in Wolf Trap, with the exception being that he was possibly going to have actual housemates, rather than a pack of dogs to share the space with.
Shrugging, Will started towards one of the rooms, attempting to choose the bed that appeared to be the furthermost away from the common area or the other beds.
Once he secured sleeping space, Will made his way outside of the house to start looking over the structure. Perhaps it was unwarranted but he wanted to ensure that if any rain or other sort of weather rolled in, the roof was intact enough to not yield any nasty surprises inside.
C - Thesa Station - OTA
While many people were busy exploring their new planetary home, Will took the first available opportunity to go back up to the Station.
He had a couple of goals up here. First to check on those still in stasisensure Hannibal was still safely asnooze and second, to see if he could find any records, data or evidence of any sort to help provide a better foundation of understanding for what was going on down on the planet.
Surely he wasn't the only one making use of the transport pads?

B
He's ushered along to his new home, house #19. And it appears someone else is giving the house a once-over, like he's checking for any structural flaws. His own name tag's emblazoned prominently on his clothing (no matter how much he tried to hide it), and he really hopes it'll go away soon.
"Hello there," Venom starts, approaching with caution. It's mostly because he doesn't want to scare him. "I believe we'll be living here together."
His nametag? "Hello! My name is Venom. I am in House #19. My hobbies are Tea, Chess, and Reading."
no subject
"Hello," he responded. "Will Graham, but Will is fine."
He wasn't a particularly chatty man, even at the best of times. Let alone when he was distracted.
no subject
The brush isn't expected, but Venom perseveres. "I take it you're looking around our new dwelling. It looks rather sturdy." He's not very good at this, but he's doing his best.
no subject
But he wasn't to the point of completely blanking someone. Not yet, anyway.
"So far I would agree with that assessment. But it's what I can't see that concerns me."
no subject
"And do you require assistance?"
no subject
Either way, he kept that speculation to himself.
"No. I'm about done. Are you ... ah, settled in?"
no subject
"For the most part, I suppose. It's quite a spacious house. I wasn't expecting it to be this size." Except for the additional beds. It appears there are going to be more roommates. He almost offers tea out of habit but he hasn't even gone shopping yet.
"Can I get you anything? A glass of water?"
no subject
It didn't work it's way through his distracted thoughts, that Venom might be trying to be sociable, until after he'd declined. A moment later, he turned towards the man and tried on a small smile.
It was more a grimace, than a smile but hopefully looked appreciative enough.
"Thank you, for the offer."
no subject
"You're welcome," He replies, standing there awkwardly for a moment. "Ah, if you need anything, I'll be inside." He'll be keeping his ears open for any kind of unusual noises and such.
b.
What are we looking for?
no subject
Leaks.
[ His sense of discretion eventually caught up with his mind and he blinked and looked over at the man who had spoke. Not that telling a stranger he was looking for leaks was any sort of state secret, but still. It was a minor relief to see the #19 on the man's tag. ]
Haven't found anything concerning yet, for what it's worth.
no subject
( He, obviously, doesn't seem all that bothered by it. It's a run-down, cramped looking house but it's better than anything that he had back in Darktown, where there was no sun nor rain. Just criminals and the wretched smell of the sewers permeating the streets. )
At least we'll have a roof over our heads now. Good thing, too — I was getting tired of pitching tents.
no subject
It was true, there was no sewer smell and to be honest, Will hadn't even considered that concern. He was glad not to have to consider it now.
Instead, he inquired after the man's latter statement. ]
Not a fan of the outdoors?
no subject
( Even if that roof happened to be a little leaky. Anders isn't going to get glib about that again, though, even though it would be amusing to potentially see this other man get annoyed with him. He nodded toward the house. )
What are going to do if you find one? Have you fixed a roof before?
no subject
So far, he'd been thwarted, unless he wanted to try to free climb and he wasn't so sure he felt that great an urge. ]
I don't mind living in spartan conditions, actually I prefer it. But I do like to stay dry, and I'm not sure what to think about all of us being herded into centralized locations.
[ With them all gathered into one area, what was to stop the Natha from executing an attack?
He really was a little ray of sunshine. ]
So I suppose I'm hoping to find evidence that these houses aren't just acceptable collateral damage.
a;
During all the excitement of reaching their destination he's managed to be separated from his siblings, so he surveys the crowd that's formed around the newcomers, hoping to spot them.
Instead he happens to spot Will's name tag when he happens to approach near to where Alec is standing.
"Please tell me you're contemplating the murders of the guards who forced these things on us. I can't be the only one."
Alec's own tag reads:
I am in House #10
Are you my housemate?
My hobbies are archery, killing demons, and sarcasm
What are yours?
no subject
"I suppose forcing us to wear these labels could be considered demonic," he remarked in a wry voice. "But I was trying to avoid thinking of ways to kill our hosts. At least, just yet."
no subject
Alec isn't the most trusting of people's intentions at the best of times, and now, while he's stranded on a strange planet, surrounded by strange beings, and the only thing he can hold onto is the word of some non-human entity that she'll look over the rest of his family...well. He's not in a very trusting mood needless to say.
"These tags might seem like a fun getting to know you experiment, but they're also revealing things that we might wish to keep private. Or at least not reveal during our first meeting with someone."
And how exactly they know these things is another question worth pondering.
no subject
"I'm starting to get the sense that rescuing us, or whatever it is that's been done here, was a spur of the moment decision and not as completely thought out as one would expect."
Which was yet another concern, no doubt.
"But there is no denying that it was performed by beings capable of feats I've only ever read in fiction," he continued, eyes glancing back to Alec's face briefly and then skipping away to the activity surrounding them.
"Safe to say we're in circumstances well beyond our control, initiated by beings with power beyond our understanding, and they have significantly more information on us, individually, than we do on them, collectively. Sound about right?"
no subject
Not that he believes the Natha are responsible for this. If they were, why would they save them at all? It's also clear that they weren't expecting quite how much life they'd have to sustain in one place. Sending them down here makes more sense then trying to cram everyone together on the Station. Especially if more people begin waking up.
"All the stories are true." It's how he and Jace had explained the Shadow World to Clary and Simon. Vampires, werewolves, fairies, warlocks, and demons...all real. And now so are other worlds, and alien lifeforms. He's beginning to wonder if everything classified as fiction isn't just based on some form of truth.
"That sounds about right."
no subject
He merely raised an eyebrow at the idea that 'all the stories are true', not a man to take anything on anyone's word but he didn't try to contradict Alex either. After all, the boy's tag did mention demon killing and so far the Natha hadn't put up any character traits that were directly refuted as being false.
"Then I expect we have a lot to learn about our new world. Haven't happened to see a library in your travels, have you?"
no subject
And exactly how much time do they have here before the destruction is likely to happen. Were they rescued only to buy themselves a little bit of extra time?
"Actually, I have." He hasn't gone inside yet, wanting to get a feel for the city first, but he marked the location of the library for research purposes at a later time.
