hi i am a closed log
Who: Chuuya Nakahara (
vacuum) & Archer (
fakers)
What: nothing's happening
When: some ... time. maybe today. maybe tomorrow. maybe this is just a dream.
Where: the fancier part of town.
Warning(s): none. nothing is actually happening.
[ Who would have thought a conversation he started by insulting his too-talkative, too-judgemental co-worker would have this kind of outcome? Chuuya sure didn't expect this, but it's been a long, long time since he's had anything remotely close to a date, so that itself is an exciting thing. With his penchant to go out of his way to deliver his best efforts (aka, 'being extra'), he has a very romantic and date-appropriate place planned. This will go ... perfectly.
So there is a part of him that suspects Archer's still only doing this to mess with him, but he's determined to have a good time. And if that turns out to be true in the end? He'll also be true to his word, and kick that dude's ass. These are his honest efforts! He won't stand for them to be trampled on, like he's had to endure so many times with a certain other person.
Best not to be thinking about that person while he's out here, trying to have a lovely evening. That would only make the food taste sour.
Though he likes to act like he has so much experience in this sort of thing, the truth is -- he actually doesn't. That's why it's such a novelty, and he's excited. The effort he puts in can be seen from the minute he meets up with Archer -- he's got a crisp new shirt and blazer on, and even his hat is new. If he had a car like he used to, this would probably be where he tries to show if off by picking his date up at his house. Too bad he doesn't, so he walks to Archer's house and knocks at his door.

while this entire idea had mostly came of a joke, borne of chuuya's bashfulness over their devices, archer was still more or less taking it seriously. at the very least, he had taunted chuuya into this, so he had to at least deliver on his own end. if he was to make fun of chuuya for this afterwards, he couldn't let the entire thing fall apart from the get go.
things like "dating" had never mattered much to emiya earlier, but he'd somehow found himself in these situations often due to eroge protagonist powers. all the same, that was almost an entire life time ago, so perhaps it didn't even count... he was a practically a different character. to put it generously, he was rusty.
he's at least wearing a dress shirt and suit, if only because his wardrobe isn't particularly varied. he had a few outfits that he relied on for his every day business, and... really, nothing beyond that. so the best he could do was wearing the nicest outfit he had (which he'd probably gotten at some point in order to do something for shades darker... who knows). ]
There you are. [ because archer is a complete weirdo, he isn't actually in the house. he'd been waiting on his rooftop, just watching the surrounding area. which probably means he walked chuuya walk all the way here? i don't know, archer is really bizarre.
and in this case, he just wanted to know exactly when chuuya arrived. his roommate(s) isn't present either way, but he'd still avoid them meddling. so with a hop, he lands down next to chuuya, with a goofy anime swish of air. ]
So you were serious about this. [ that much is obvious from how chuuya is dressed. thankfully, it seems more self-deprecating than anything else, since archer is also dressed up. ]

It doesn't take him long to sense the living presence from above. How? Because he's anime, and animes can somehow sense when other animes are snooping around. He isn't particularly surprised to find Archer greet him from the rooftop. It isn't even that strange to him, because he tends to enjoy flaunting his abilities as well (when he's around people who already know of them, anyway).
Archer's looking quite nice. He's happy that the other man actually listened to him and seems to be putting a small amount of effort into their meeting. The first thing that comes out of his mouth, though? That's definitely not what you say on a first date. Chuuya crosses his arms, clearly displeased with the statement. ]
Are you going to tell me you weren't? [ If this is a joke after all ... he's going to beat yo ass. ]

but yes, those weird anime senses do come handy at times like this. if archer had expected a reaction from chuuya, he doesn't really get one. in truth, chuuya didn't really seem the type to be easily rattled, so that more or less confirms what archer had expected. his leap down was less about flaunting and more... who even knows, archer is strange. ]
That's not what I meant.
[ instead, archer just gives the other man and appraising look up and down. though he doesn't really say anything, his expression seems approving all the same. ]
I simply wasn't sure how seriously you were taking this.

I don't half-ass anything. What's the point of doing something if you aren't aiming to impress?
[ He may not act like one with his surly and aggressive personality, but he can be quite a perfectionist. It certainly shows in his bartender work, how often he tries to get the presentation of those martinis just right and how far he would go to obtain those rarer wines. Some might say he tries too hard, but that's not a negative trait in his eyes.
He offers Archer a hand ... to take. ] Now, shut up and come with me. We're going to have an awesome time.

Then consider me impressed. So far.
[ without a doubt, archer's likely had more than a few drinks chuuya has prepared... and he can tell the difference between him and some of the other bartenders. creating a drink may seem simple on the surface, but its the little touches that truly make all the difference.
he cocks an eyebrow at the outstretched hand, clearly a bit surprised. but after a moment's hesitation, he takes it. why not? ]
You're certainly not without... confidence. [ is that a good thing at this point? he's not sure, but he's committed to seeing where this goes. ]
