[clarke hadn't really expected bellamy to easily agree with her idea of sticking together and basically moving into the same house yet here they were doing exactly that. she had just picked out a place that was roughly a bit bigger than the typical start housing since she had the money for it and had just packed up a few things at the sanctuary dorms to bring with her.

unlike most people she didn't have too much to really bring with her and she knows the same was for the bellamy too. she leaves her things in her room and settles down on the couch with her sketchbook while bellamy is trying to familiarize himself with the house and similarly get settled in since they are going to be staying here for now]

[It's way more room than he's used to, that's for sure. The beds are nicer, too. It almost feels like too much, like they should be sharing with more than three people, but he tries to tamp that down. El Nysa has more resources than Earth and the Ark combined. After wandering the apartment, familiarizing himself with the layout, he joins Clarke in the living room.]

How'd you find this place?

[this place was a lot, more the offered starter housing but even that was something that clarke wasn't quite used to either despite being here for a couple months already. she looks up when bellamy joins her, shifting her focus away from what she had been drawing to answer his question] I got some help from my roommate Elena— [she had never really done this before so she had mostly been asking her for help with stuff like that in general]

We both had to look for new places to live after the month of free housing was up and we found out from a few of the natives there were places we could rent in this area.

[He makes a quiet, caught somewhere between thoughtful and surprised.]

There's enough in this city to feed and house the entire coalition.

[It's clear he still can't wrap his head around it.]

The entire coalition? [clarke looks at his with slight confusion but she does understand his reaction overall despite how the comparison went over her head. it was still like that for her too even after being here for a couple months already because it was a lot more than anything that was offered between the ark and even on the ground.

there were no rules about rationing the food, they had beds to sleep in behind four solid walls of an actual house even for the rent she had to pay but it was safe and that was more than anything they were used to] Yeah, this is definitely a lot more than we're used to, huh?

[He knows, of course, that she doesn't remember everything, but he's so used to talking to her so openly that he keeps tripping over moments like this. He frowns, but she changes the subject, so he drops it.]

Yeah, it is. More food than anyone could need.

[clarke isn't quite so used to this especially since from her perspective they only just started to get along. bellamy might be talking more openly but she doesn't really recognize that or the fact that their friendship was mutual beyond what she figures he was just going along with her suggestion of living together just because they know each other from home.

normally she would have further questioned his words instead of dropping the subject but from how she seems to be having problems with her memories, it's probably something that would have confused her more] Yeah, even with how many people there are here— it's still weird despite how I've been here for a couple months already.

[it feels too much like being in the mountain, having to settle and accept being there, she was just as skeptical of this place but so far she didn't really have any answers or know what else to do especially for their friends who were still captive in stasis. she shifts slightly on the couch, moving her art supplies with her in a gesture to make a bit of room for him to sit down beside her while they talk. if he would even want to that is.]

Seems like you're settling in pretty well.

[She's got an apartment and a job and friends—that's not nothing. Most people wouldn't be adjusting nearly so well, but really, Bellamy isn't surprised. Clarke has always been a fighter, and she's always had a way of connecting with people.]

[clarke leans back against the couch when she notices that he settles down beside her. she looks towards him and although he might not be surprised she was adjusting, she was definitely surprised by his words.

she doesn't like the idea of settling in especially when she doesn't trust a thing about this place] It's more like I figured I'd need to blend in if I'm ever going to get more answers about our situation here.

It worked at Mount Weather at least before I found a way to escape.

[It makes sense. He knows she's not going to be able to fully relax anytime soon, and maybe not ever.]

We'll figure it out, Clarke. There has to be somewhere here who knows what the hell is going on.

[clarke just nods at that because it's something she'd been reassuring herself with since their conversation a few days ago when she learned he was actually here] Yeah, I know—

I've been checking out the library here to see what I could learn about this place, the history of it or any other information it had. [she glances at her sketchbook which is just sitting in her lap and she turns to hand it over to him] Here, you can take a look through this. [technically it's not too obvious right away what she is specifically handing it over for especially since from first glance it has a lot of random sketches filled with people she has drawn or a bit of the scenery in olympia and the things she has seen on thesa station as well ]

[Bellamy takes the sketchbook almost carefully. He's quiet as he flips through. It's hard not to think of it as something personal, so he doesn't skip past anything, not even the sketches that don't seem relevant.]

What did you find?

[clarke hadn't been able to indulge in drawing for her own enjoyment while on the ground, even while in mount weather she had only taken advantage of the sketchbook and art supplies given to her by dante wallace so she could draw her own map of the place.

everything was always for survival and technically this wasn't any different with the approach she was taking with this place. technically it could be considered personal but clarke wanted to share it with bellamy and besides she could use his perspective on this too for anything she missed.

the drawings in her sketchbook and even the notes had the purpose of ensuring she was familiar with her new environment. there were a few pages that had maps, drawing of various animals and a bit further in she kept detailed notes on a variety of things she made note of on thesa station, the names of the orbiters that brought them here, the names of the higher ups in olympia, different job offerings and notes about quests that were offered in the last couple months. she even had a section on the cities of olympia and wyver being at war along with a few scribbles of theories she had about their situation here since looking into the library] Unfortunately there wasn't much I've been writing it down pretty much everything seeing if I could make any connections.

We don't really know what we're up against here but with these drawings— I figure we can at least familiarize ourselves with the environment and the wildlife around to be better prepared.

[He keeps flipping through slowly, pausing to study each map, to read each name over and over a few times, committing them to memory. It's a lot, and it's useful, but more than that, it's exactly what he expected from Clarke.]

What's going on with Wyver and Olympia? No one's been able to explain much of it to me.

I still need to look more into it but they have been enemies for a long time— probably why they keep separated into two different sides.

[she lets out a sigh because she is just as frustrated by the lack of answers and feeling a bit like she is disappointing everyone that she doesn't have it all figured out yet. she looks in thought for a moment before she turns to bellamy] Maybe next time when I go check out the library, you can join me? I could use the help in adding more stuff to my notes.

I haven't had a chance to look at it yet.

[But of course he'll go with her. That goes without saying.]

We'll check it out tomorrow.

Yeah, tomorrow sounds good to me. [she just nods at that before pausing and looking in thought for a moment before she continues slightly changing the topic while she's at it]

Anyway, I've been meaning to ask you though— from what you told me earlier, how far behind are my memories compared to what you remember?
