locked to house 27
Who: Clark (
monuments), JJ (
underwhelms) & Roman (
twofates)
What: Housemates, etc.
When: Upon arrival to Olympia.
Where: House 27
Warning(s): Nudity
[ The situation isn't ideal. The house is small, and cramped, the neighbourhood is kind of shady, and the view is pathetic, but JJ makes himself home nonetheless. When he's in there, told that this is his new (temporary) home, there's another wave of nausea; another reminder that this reality is permanent. That this is his new life now.
So he takes a moment, noses around to claim a room, sets his bag down before he sits on the bed and just cries.
He babbles to himself, lamenting about how he misses his mother, misses his siblings, and his fiancée; that he misses worrying about his diet plan for the week and project deadlines at school. He cries for a while like that, glad to be alone and unjudged by everyone else here who's seen much worse, people that have fought wars and maybe even killed.
It feels good, and though his heart is still heavy when he gets up again, lazily stripping off his clothes as he wanders over to the bathroom for a shower—and thank God there is one—he somehow feels better. He takes that time to build his confidence back up, outline a plan for his stay here: how he's going to get a better apartment; the steps he needs to take to build an ice rink. The hot water is therapeutic, and he only draws away when he hears the door come open. (There isn't much in the way of soundproofing in this dinky little dormitory.) ]
Hello?
[ Given his experiences thus far, JJ thinks it's only fair that he creeps out of the bathroom cautiously, hair and body still wet, a towel held in front of his crotch for some semblance of modesty.
Which he promptly abandons once he sees that it's just another guy that's wandered in. ]
Hey. [ He smiles, bright and easygoing. ] I'm JJ. Are you lost or something?

House number 27 is reminiscent of the some of the places he had viewed in Metropolis when he decided he'd moved there. That's not also including the time he backpacked America, then north to Canada, eventually the North Pole. No doubt he's already seen some things in terms of tight living. Naturally, Clark is already making himself at home, setting down his back and seating himself on the sofa. Dust scatters, making him sneeze with immediate regret.
Perhaps he'd been so caught up with having a place to sit that he'd entirely missed the fact that there is another presence in the place. He looks up from his sneeze, his glasses crooked, and sees the young man by the bathroom door. Which is when he scrambles to stand up and adjust his glasses - before abruptly turning the other way. ] Hello...!
Sorry, but um, I live here too. I guess we're housemates?
[ He'd shake his hand, but 1) he's too far away and 2) he's pretty sure the kid's completely nekko. ] I'm Clark Kent.

[ JJ perks up a bit at that. Because on one hand, he's used to have his own space and this apartment really isn't large enough to house more than one person (in his privileged opinion), but on the other—he's lonely, and he likes the idea of having company. It's reminiscent of when he used to live with his family only a couple of years ago.
Wandering further from the bathroom, he rubs the towel over his still-wet hair and his torso. By the time he reaches Clark on the couch, he has mercifully wrapped the towel around his waist, obviously curious as he looks over the new arrival and tries to gauge what kind of person he's going to be living with.
The definitely notices that Clark is jacked. ]
Whoa. [ He stands in front of the other man, hands on his hips and expression friendly. ] What're you, a wrestler or something? Football player?

and JJ's ego takes up the remaining space.Clark can't help but look down at his form when JJ points out his form— its true; due to his lack clothing options, he has to wear something more fitted than what he'd normally outfit. He laughs it off awkwardly. ]
I... jog sometimes? [ Who the hell knows, it's Kryptonian genes. ] Grew up on a farm. Lots of... steak.
[ Moving on, though. ]
You, uh, look like you're on the younger side. Are you, or were you in school?

[ Maybe he's being too forward with that kind of commentary, but that's how JJ tends to roll.
Despite the attitude however, he's fairly glad that he got a mild mannered roommate. Well, not "mild mannered", but at least a guy that looks friendly and not like an alien that eats dogs for breakfast. (Though JJ's being unfair, most of the people he's met haven't been mean, just uninterested in his life.)
He perks up at the question; he can never resist the chance to talk about himself. ]
I'm 19! [ Not that young in figure skating terms. ] I'm only a part time student because skating takes up most of my time.
[ Not that it matters now. ]

[ It doesn't really explain that they often name their cows for endearment, but anyway. At least they're on another topic now; talking about the boy is far better than himself. It's like interviewing a student, which he's had much experience with doing. Although, he doesn't want to keep him for long; the boy is still dripping from the shower, and he'd hate to keep him... standing... ]
Wow. You must be really good! You must at least have gone to Nationals.

[ JJ nods, somehow managing to come across both attentive and obviously uninvested in the topic. He likes animals as much as the next person, but he's no vegetarian, and he's not really interested in digging into the intricacies of eating an animal that you've raised.
He is however, quite willing to talk about himself. ]
Nationals? [ His eyebrows shoot up. ] Man, I competed internationally. I'm one of the best in the world.
[ Was. Past tense.
But he doesn't falter, instead leaning forward to peer at Clark, water dripping from the tips of his hair as he moves. ]
Are you from Earth?
[ He looks human enough. ]

He happens to walk through the door as his apparent roommates are mid-conversation, and he stands frozen by the door as he shuts it. He'd taken his shirt off to cool down, and doesn't feel any strong need to put it back on, not at all thinking there's a need for modesty. ]
Oh. Uh. Hi.
[ He's always pleased to see Clark, and even manages a small smile in his direction, but then he turns his gaze towards their young roommate, giving him a friendly nod of acknowledgment. ]
sorry for the late!
That's... that's amazing! I never thought I'd share with someone with such talent. [ He huffs a laugh. ] That's really cool... but yeah, I"m from Earth. A city called Metropolis.
[ And he'll be thankful for his human looks— even though he's anything but. Luckily, that's something he won't have to get into with the young man. Especially now that he's sensing someone approaching. Clark looks toward the door before Roman manages to open it, and immediately smiles when he sees the familiar face.
Apparently, he's also in the underdressed club. Had Clark missed the memo or something? ]
Hey, Roman! [ He gives him a little wave. ] You... uh, living here too?
