[it doesn't escape clarke's notice how uncomfortable clary seems to be and she can't help but worry with how she is being afflicted with the illness even after answering her question] Yeah, no kidding. I've dealt with worse— that is pretty much all the news I've heard though.

[clarke reaches to place a hand on her shoulder giving it a comforting squeeze] Now how about you try to lie down for a bit?

That makes me feel a little better, at least.

[ she huffs out a laugh, a sound that's only vaguely amused (and, for the most part, more at ease with the knowledge of what clarke may have experience with). there's nothing humorous about the situation, not in the least, but she's adamantly making an attempt to keep a level head.

the same level head that sees her exhale harshly through her nose as she reclines as clarke has asked, until her shoulders collide softly with the mattress beneath her. ]

That much I can do.
