[ Despite being involved in the brunt of whatever detonated in the market district, Juvia still takes it upon herself to help those immediately around her. Even though her desire to find out who is directly responsible for this is strong, her need to be useful overpowers it.sick leave
While still semi functional, with no dire signs of sickness, she chooses to assist in disposal of anything contaminated. For the hour she is Alive catch her roaming around, offering to pick up slack for anyone slowing down or needing an extra hand. ]
[ ―but it isn't long into helping with the recovery efforts that the symptoms hit her. It starts when her already clammy hands are suddenly, to be frank, clammier. Skin is paler than usual, and mouth suddenly dry. The crate of food she holds slips from her fingers and lands harshly on the floor. She thinks it's because she's not paying attention, which, is true. Juvia is still thinking about the confusion and fear that hit her during the attack.wildcard
But it's when she has to step aside because she simply can't pick up the crates anymore does she realize something is wrong. In a panic, she separates herself from the collection of people in the market district, taking off her hat only to place her hand up against her forehead. ]
Juvia.. Juvia can't tell the difference.
[ She mumbles, stopping once she's far enough by herself to check her own temperature. ]
[ if you want to plan out something specific, or throw something at me, feel free to! my plotting comment is over here and my plurk isenoshima if you want to contact me directly c: ]

He's not sure about who has exactly what abilities, but he did speak to a doctor and knows there are others offering their talents at least.
"Still, that was specifically the potions. They may have other healing methods with little to no side effects. There were some waterbenders with healing abilities in my colony, but none of them are...recovered from the storm just yet."
(ooc: Sorry for the delay! Was on vacation!)

At the mention of waterbenders, Juvia immediately perks up.
Literally-- she hasn't met many people with powers, much less a possibility of someone having some like her own. "You come from a colony of people who can control water?" she says, bewildered and in slight disbelief. "Does that mean you can do it, as well?"

He's been keeping a large waterskin on his hip so that he'll have something to bend with even if he's nowhere near water. He opens it and lets a small stream of water come out. Moving his arms in a simple motion, the water curves and twists into a figure eight shape, flowing like that for a second before Juvia's eyes before he lets it return to his waterskin for future use.
"My colony originally had four communities - each one with a spiritual connection to a different element: water, fire, earth and air. A fifth one was made about seventy years ago, that blended the four communities. I was living in that fifth one when the storm struck, but I was originally born in the Northern Water Tribe."

"Juvia has never met anyone who could use water like she can," she suddenly forgets about the growing fever in exchange for extending her hand, palm up, letting water seep out and rise from her skin into the air. Juvia mimics his movements with gentle sways of her arm, the water following it. "There aren't many tribes in my home, but there are people who can control those other elements as well. Much like I can."
The water slows to a stop, suspended in air as she takes a breath. The sparkle in her eye is a dead giveaway at how excited she is-- "What was it like?"

"So the water is right within your body? I have to carry around a jug or a waterskin instead, or be near a water source."
He could manipulate blood, but he's not going to mention that.
"Although even ink or sweat can work in a pinch."
As for his home, he has some very mixed feelings about it. His home life wasn't the happiest, and some of it was directly related to his waterbending. Her excitement is evident, though, so he can stick to the more pleasant and neutral details.
"The Northern Water Tribe is a very cold place, with many structures made at least partially from ice. There are far more nonbenders than benders, but there are still enough waterbenders around that it's not difficult for children to find a teacher. About seventy or so years ago, there used to be very rigid rules. Female waterbenders were only permitted to use waterbending to heal, and male waterbenders were not allowed to learn to heal, but those rules relaxed after a waterbender girl named Katara challenged the status quo."
