Travel With The Setting Sun (OPEN)
Who: Genjo Sanzo (
smithandwesson), Son Goku (
bakazaru), Yusei Fudo (
planetary_bonds), Jae-Ha (
razzledazzles) & Anyone Else Interested!
What: Sanzo is one of Olympias Top 10 Most Wanted and he is on the ruuuunnnnn
When: The Entire Month of October
Where: Anywhere between Olympia's Residential district to The Outlook depending on how far he gets.
Warning(s): Besides some violence nothing yet! Will update as it's needed.
[Hearing the emergency announcement (and his name attached along with it), Genjo Sanzo was quick to react. He was used to living on the run and natural instinct lead him to take cover as soon as possible. Thankfully he had allies who were not going to turn on him any time soon for this sham of a monarchy, and thus knew he only had to stay completely out of sight until the majority of the chaos rolled over.
And so he was quick to take to the streets, escaping the back door of his apartment into the alleyways of the residential district.
Like Hell he was going to make it easy for anyone to find him, and he knew there were enough small empty homes in this architecturally crowded district for him to lose himself for a few days to a week or two without worry. Goku and Yusei all the while would make sure he was secretly provided for and informed while remaining as inconspicuous as possible. It wouldn’t be until halfway through the month, when the chaos cooled down a little that Sanzo would even dare peak his head outside.
When he does he is wrapped from head to toe, intentionally looking filthy while draped in torn robes, cheep sunglasses covering his eyes. He did his best to look as much like a homeless vagrant as possible and avoided all the streets that were more prone to having people wandering about.
He was on a mission after all-- And with enough luck and help from those who were willing, he trudged forward in his attempt to escape the city.]
OOC: Sanzo will be doing his best to keep as much on the down-low as possible. He will be avoiding all major roads, all stores, and all common routes that the city guards are known to travel. He is armed in case anyone may find him out and is in enough of a high tension setting that he will shoot on sight the moment he thinks someone is even slightly suspicious. That being said! I am open for all forms of CR and interactions! Whether you’re a normal civilian passing by on accident, an ally willing to help, or an enemy here to bring him in or worse! If you wish to do something but wish to plot it out more feel free to contact me on Plurk at

It's none of your business and the less you know the better.
[Can't you see he's trying to look out for your safety in a backwards sort of way? Hurriedly stashing a couple of easy-to-eat things from the fridge before into his arms before kicking the door closed and marching right up to you.]
Move.
[If you don't get out of his way he will move you himself you brat.]
no subject
Considering it's inevitable that I'll have people searching this home later looking for you, I'd say it's partially my business to know.
[Brat's stubborn, just like the day you shot him. You wanna get him outta the way? Fine, but he's gonna make you drop that food in the process.]
It's not just you that I'm worried about. There are others that were mentioned...
no subject
[His scowl grew all the deeper as he watched the kid continue to stubbornly block his way. This wasn't good. He had to move and fast, so now was not the the time to just stand around and explain all the bullshit that happened.]
It was a job. At least that's what I'm assuming considering the other names that were announced. Or it could be a fight. Or a theft. Or a hit.
[Really he knew way too many of the people mentioned and did way too many "illegal" things with all of them.]
But whatever the fuck I did it had nothing to do with the fuckwads who caused this mess. And I have no intention of spending the rest of my life in a prison cell or worse because of something I didn't cause.
[At least, not intentionally.]
Now move.
no subject
[Then...it can't be. That other guy's name was mentioned, so is it the same one Rocket told him about before...?
Yusei doesn't move, but he visibly lets the tension out of his body, shoulders slumping to indicate that he'll let Sanzo through at this point. It almost looks like he won't question anything else and just give up without a fight, but instead it takes a few moments before he speaks again, his voice lower than before. Sanzo might have even pushed past him by the time he asks his question.
Hell, the way he says it, it almost sounds like he's asking himself the question.]
The...carriage to Wyver?
no subject
[Well, whatever. He's going to do his best to push past you now. He's answered your questions so he's going to get back to packing.]
Took up the job. Didn't think much of it, just that it would make a good quick buck. One of the names on there was someone who took it up along with me. If we both screwed up it was probably because of that.
[Although he wasn't sure why either Giovanni or Rocket were mentioned. Either there was another job they all took up together or they all had enough the same mindset to take the same job.
Was it because of the fighting rings maybe?]
no subject
[Sigh.]
That...only makes things more suspicious. He's abrasive and cocky, but I don't think he's a bad guy. He'd take a suspicious job, but not something that would put this place in danger...
no subject
[As usual, Sanzo doesn't hesitate to get philosophical in the matter, sighing as he makes his way into the hallway to further dig around for the basic necessities he'd be needing.]
It was a job plain and simple. As far as I was approached, it was described as nothing more than a basic reconaissance mission. Stop the "bad guys" from bringing weapons into the city. That was all.
[Which, in turn, only further proved his point. The people who he thought at the time were the bad guys were actually the ones the city perceived as good guys.]
If we completed it we got a nice sum of money in the process. Something which every one of us are currently striving for in order to get our new lives going in this city.
[Perhaps now was a good time to dig around in the closet for that cloak he bought a few weeks back.]
no subject
[Even if he did make it sound more like mercenary work-get in, eliminate the target, get out. Hm.]
...Could you...tell me more about this mission?
no subject
[Sanzo nodded, his shoulders easing as he found the large beige cape. It was brand new and just about ready to face the wear and tear he was about to put it through.]
It was advertised to us like an illegal weapons trade. Some asshole flirting about in the red-light called us over and started talking about having some money to give for a job. Said caravans would be attempting to sneak past the gates in the middle of the night and we had to stop the pricks before they made it further into the city.
I tagged along with some brat who was saving up money to date his gay lover in order to gather some information on when the trade would occur and then I made it to the location with the group of ‘em and shot some fuckers down.
Worst part is that I only got half the pay since the douchebag promised to exchange some of the cities information with me if I took half the gold offered.
Shows how much good that did me.
[With that he walked over to the nearby dresser, pulling out what appeared to be his personal stock of 200+ pistol bullets.]
no subject
[Yusei sighs in something that sounds like resignation.]
If I know authority, they're not going to accept that you were, uh...tricked, into murdering people.
[Hell, if it had been someone close to him that was dead right now, Yusei's not sure if he would have accepted that kind of excuse. It's only feeling a twang of familiar pain in his shoulder that keeps him from being surprised that Sanzo would casually shoot down someone at a moment's notice.
He's still a little in shock, actually. It's taking all he has to keep it back.]
Let me guess. The information wasn't even worth it.
no subject
He’d admit to the things he does without hesitation, but fight to the very end for his own survival. After all, as long as he kept living for himself then he was doing what was right for him.
Or at least that was how he always saw it.
“If you meet your god, kill your god.” It was his favorite scripture to live by after all.]
Truthfully, it couldn’t even be counted as information. As far as all what was given to me, every suspicion I had was absolutely false.
[He sighed. Loading his gun and placing the rest of his bullets into a bag before slowly turning to Yusei.]
Look kid. This may be the last chance we see each other. I am not involving you in this bullshit as you have no horse in the goddamn race for all this. You can tell them you saw me if you wish, but I will be gone before they show up anyway. Knowing Goku he’s going to end up coming along just because the dumb brat doesn’t know how to keep his nose out of others business.
None the less, gotta say. You weren’t the shittiest roommate I’ve ever had.
no subject
Goku's from your world, isn't he? I wouldn't imagine something like this would keep you two apart...
[Yusei frowns, however, the longer he listens to this. He certainly isn't going to say anything to the authorities about Sanzo being here (they can go fumble about incompetently on their own time, not his), but despite that he knows well that the monk can't stay. But to have to leave so quickly...these kinds of departures always unsettled Yusei. It's true that he has little to no chance of seeing the man again once he flees town. For all the trouble the man's brought into his life, he wasn't a bad roommate, or a bad person. Isn't that enough for Yusei to feel uncomfortable with the idea of not seeing him again?
He hesitates before he speaks.]
...No. We'll see each other again. I'm sure of it.
[And why's that? Surely it's not because you don't want to let go.]
no subject
Don’t get too cheesy now kid. People would start to think you have some sort of victim complex or something. I did shoot you after all.
[Was he smiling a little from beneath that cigarette in his mouth? No way.]
Goku will still be around. He’s not the one on the run after all, and save for you and whoever he went blabbing his mouth to, not many people know of our connection.
I’m sure he’ll keep you updated. At least until we finally manage to make our way out of here.
[Sanzo turned away, making his way towards his bedroom in order to get the last of his stuff, and perhaps grab Goku in the process.]
And don’t make a mess just because I’m not here. You’ll eventually end up with new roommates and they deserve to be respected.
no subject
If you say so. Still, considering his status as your roommate, they'll definitely be keeping an eye on him as well. [He scoffs at the idea.] It seems like authority is the same everywhere, liking to waste time. If they have the resources to keep tabs on all of us, they can spend it tracking down the people who actually are responsible for all this, don't you think?
[...Yeah, he's still pretty bitter about the whole mess that Godwin and the Public Security Maintenance Bureau put him through. Even if he wasn't, it's not like he had a healthy respect for authority in the first place.]
Mm, well, I'll find out if they deserve it soon enough. [He's really accommodating...but he's not that accommodating, if you get his drift.]
no subject
[He smirked, seeming to find amusement in Yuseis natural urge to rebel whether he needed to know both sides of the story or not.]
Besides, the people in charge here seem to be pretty adiment on the thought of who the villains are in all of this. All because of a single vague confession. Doesn't seem those in charge are the smartest pickles in the jar.
I also feel like they won't be changing their mind soon no matter what others may say. They're determined those of us that are named off are guilty and the hunt wont end until they have us all brought in.
[But whatever, it's not the first time he's on the run and he's absolutely certain it won't be the last.
He pauses just as he's about to walk into his bedroom. His hand stopping just as it brushed against the doorknob.]
Hey kid.
no subject
[Aww. He rolls his eyes a little as Sanzo continues to belittle the authorities.]
You'd think they'd know better than to take the word of a criminal completely seriously. Then again, it'd be easier for them to just lock people up without question, hm...?
[Yusei chuckles, but sobers up as Sanzo stops. For all their banter, this isn't really the time to be joking around.]
...Yeah?
no subject
He had parted with plenty of people throughout his life, many times never sure if he would or would not see them again. So it felt strange that he was having a hard time parting once more.
Perhaps it was because of all that had happened the past few months. Or perhaps it was simply because of how repetitive the pattern had become. But whatever the reason was, he paused.]
You do well for yourself. And keep working on those fucking machines of yours. Maybe get some damn culture into this city with those innovations of yours.
[And most of all, take care of yourself you infectious brat.]
no subject
...Yeah.
[You know what, old man? Sometimes you're alright. Sometimes. Mostly when you're not being rude and shooting people, so not a lot of times, but sometimes.]
You stay safe as well. I don't want to hear the higher-ups bringing your name up again unless they're granting a pardon.
no subject
[What can he say? He’s always been a “self preservation first, everyone else’s needs second” type of guy. As long as those in charge of Olympia stayed out of his way you won’t hear anything.]
See ya kid. It’s been eventful.
[And with that he’s going to turn away. Opening the door to his bedroom in order to collect the rest of his stuff as well as his monkey.]
