[ actually, he's not sure that's really the case... she doesn't do a very good job of it if that's what she's going for. ]

Either way, it would be a shame if your hair was damaged because it wasn't properly cared for.

[ but that's going to take so much effort and learning for her to do. ]

... Some people have complimented me on my hair, so I suppose that's true.

[ he pauses at that, glancing back at her. ]

Well, it is attractive enough. [ that's about as high as praise from him gets so... just take it. ]

I think that is the first time you've said anything like that to me.

[ which is nice. she'll take it without any complaints besides just pointing it out. ]

Is that so? Hm... well, I've never been the type for empty flattery.

[ he'll at least manage a small chuckle. ] So you can at least be sure I'm being genuine.

Are people not always genuine?

[ teach her, sensei, about how people can easily lie just to be 'nice' to people. ]

[fakers]

[ for a moment, he thinks she's joking. it actually takes a long, hard stare before he realizes she's being serious. ]

No, more often than not they aren't. People will always lie, cheat and steal to get what they want. You'd do well to remember that.

[ though thankfully before he can start filling her head with more cynicism, they arrive at the water. ] For now, just wet your hair. [ she can do that much on her own, he assumes. ]

People make no sense.

[ She doesn't understand their way of thinking and how could she? It isn't like she was designed to think like that. Giving a single nod, A2 will walk into the water and lower her head down into it. SHe makes sure to dunk her head in enough that every fiber of it is no longer dry. ]

At least you understand that much.

[ he watches her douse her hair, and part of him wonders if that's perhaps enough. but no... at some point she has to understand how to properly take care of her hair, so he removes the bottle of shampoo from his bag and opens it. ]

I'm only doing this once, so pay attention. You should be able to do this yourself in the future.

[ and that said, he'll proceed to lather his hands with shampoo, slowly so she can see exactly what's happening, before beginning to apply it to her scalp.

...this isn't weird, not at all... ]

I'm a quick learner.

[ She only ever needs to be told once and then it's store in her memory bank, basically. That means Archer has no need to worry about her forgetting how to do this. The main problem will just be her actually going through with it. ]

I'll be able to do this just fine in the future.

[ What he uses, the shampoo, makes her curious when she see's it lather up and she shifts her head just a little when she feels him touch her hair. ]

[ for all his whining and protests, he actually is quite meticulous about her hair care. after all... he's gone to all the trouble of doing this, he may as well make sure it's done correctly. ]

Hm, good. It'd be a shame if you got split ends.

[ is synthetic hair capable of that? who knows. ]

[ he's just like a mom. there is something calming about what he's doing, even if a2 isn't going to admit it out loud. ]

Split ends? Is that something hair does if it's uncared for?
