[It was not something he expected anyone here to understand in all honesty. He was alone in this, and many other things. At least he was somewhat accustomed to the isolation.]
My people used such a slumber as a substitute for death as it were. When you are destined to live indefinitely, life can grow weary. When one felt the time was right, they would put themselves into a slumber, or hibernation called uthenera. If Mythal does not wish to awaken, then I have doubts she shall.
[That did not mean he did not wish her to, but he no longer had it in him to hope for such things.]
If she had wished to say anything to my Sentinels and I, she had nine ages to do so. My fate is what it is. My duty failed, my people gone, and the one who I would once turn to for guidance remains ever-silent.

[ There's always the possibility right? If Goddess could be killed, why not trapped or imprisoned?
Of course that's assuming they follow any sort of logic where Abelas is from, but Rhys can't help but try to think of a reason for that predicament if for no other reason than to try and make him feel better. It just seems like that's what he should be doing? If Rhys believed in a god that vanished he imagines he'd be pretty bummed out too.
It's weird to try and offer Abelas comfort though, and it shows in his demeanour. ]

[Abelas remains quiet for a time and simply observes Rhys. The human obviously gained nothing by saying such things, and however awkward the attempt was, he was trying to offer comfort. It was a small kindness, one he often did not expect to find from others, certainly not something he expected of this one.
But it was a kindness all the same, and he would not so easily dismiss such a rare thing.]
...but thank you all the same.

All the sourness and moodiness in his behaviour makes a lot more sense now and it's harder for Rhys to just write him off as being an ass. ]
You're...welcome.
