[ JJ's eyes go wide at the question, mouth falling open slightly in surprise at how blunt and abrupt the question was. It also hit a little too close to him, because if the illness was a result of the attack, then it's unlikely that their end goal was just to give everyone a case of the sniffles.

Is he dying? ]

No. [ He answers hesitantly, before his smile comes back with his confidence. ] I'm selling suits! Are you interested?

[respired]

I am not.

[ Koltira stares JJ down, clearly not believing him. He takes a few swift and decisive steps closer, one hand raised, and then presses his cool palm against JJ's forehead. ]

Why do you lie? Is it out of fear?

[underwhelms]

[ Well, he's being candid at least. The touch is—unexpected, and JJ's not entirely sure what to make out of someone appearing out of no where and grabbing his forehead, but admittedly it feels nice against his heated skin.

He remembers now, Koltira had created an entire castle out of ice. ]

I'm not lying. [ He boasts, thought he makes no move to step away from Koltira's hand. ] It's just a cold. I'd have to be pretty weak to die from a cold.

[respired]

Humans perish from lesser illness all the time.

[ Especially if there are no priests about, and Koltira sure as hell hasn't seen any.

He drops his hand of his own accord, his expression still grim. ]

In any case, you should not be here.

[underwhelms]

Are you worried about me?

[ JJ smiles slyly, even as he starts to feel uncomfortably hot now without Koltira's hand to cool his head. The sudden change in temperature leaves him disoriented, smile a little strained but persisting still. ]

Is it because of the incident at the beach? You're sweet...

[respired]

[ Koltira looks at him, deadpan, his expression emotionless. ]

I feel nothing for you. I do not know you. But honor demands that I do not stand by and let the innocent--or the foolish--throw away their lives.

[underwhelms]

[ Koltira's less-than-positive response does little to damage JJ's mood, given that if anything was going to bring him down, it would be the weird mash up of uncomfortable sensations he's currently experiencing. He and Koltira don't really know each other either—he's confident that he can win the stranger over.

He's just charming like that. ]

You don't really sugarcoat anything, huh? Well, that's okay. A good deed is a good deed...

[ He cants forward, slightly unsteady, so that he can put a hand on Koltira's arm, expression turning slightly more serious. ]

But do you really think someone could die from this disease?

[respired]

[ Koltira glances at the hand on his arm, but doesn't do anything to displace it. JJ is fever-warm, and he can't deny that he likes the sensation. ]

Why would you think otherwise? The lot of you grow worse by the day.

[underwhelms]

[ Koltira doesn't really pull any punches. JJ draws in a quick breath at his answer, his hand tightening on Koltira's arm for a second before he pulls it back, embarrassed by the reaction though still alarmed. ]

Because... wouldn't there be more of a commotion? The government would be doing something. Citywide alerts?

[ He feels like city official would be doing testing on them or something. Not just walking around as though nothing had ever happened. ]

[respired]

I have no trust in such things.

[ He's seen average humans die of simple diseases all the time, especially in the absence of a priest or quality first aid. And this is not a simple disease. ]

But perhaps they are confident that they can cure the lot of you before the worst sets in.

[ He grabs JJ by the wrist. ]

In the meantime, you should not be upright.
