[ It's still something that JJ can barely wrap his head around, but Lukas is so casual about his distance with his family and the idea that he might never see them again. His voice doesn't betray any hidden turmoil or regret, though JJ had never been particularly good at reading people or seeing under the surface.

Maybe he's just accepting the reality as it is, and they are separated from their families, loved ones or not. They have each other now, and Lukas' words do bring a smile to his face, hand slipping further up to give Lukas' thigh a gentle rub before falling away. ]

It should make you happy. When I get better, I'm going to buy a guitar and you can listen to me play. And then I'll find an ice rink, and you can watch me skate.

[ Surely that will make Lukas very happy...

He leans forward, mouth opening again despite the fact that he's obviously capable of feeding himself. Though, he can't help but speaking again. ]

Yeah, and are you going to give me a bath later too?

[ Stop touching him I'm losing my mind. ]

A concert and a show? Well I definitely am not against it. [ He's the observing type, anyway, so Lukas might actually enjoy watching with mild contentment.

He's spooning another thing of soup before holding it out to JJ once more. ]

That was the plan, yes, so you'd no longer be sitting in your own filth.

[ Lukas is too nice. JJ's been fairly grumpy around the other man as of late, mostly because he doesn't take very gracefully to being sick, but even he can take a moment to appreciate the care he's being shown. It's hard to make it as an artist in the world (apparently, if you don't already have wealth and your parents' fame to help you), and JJ knows how precious a willing audience is.

He should probably smile cutely or something, but instead he just smirks like the jackass he is as he leans forward to accept the next spoonful. Except this time, he doesn't let the spoon go, teeth closing around it so that he can pull it out of Lukas' grasp. It stays there between his lips like a large toothpick that he chews on thoughtfully. ]

It sounds really gross when you say it like that.

[ He does feel gross though, looking down thoughtfully at his palms, sticky with sweat. ]

But you're right. I want to shower. Hey— [ He shoves an arm out. ] Help me up.

Lukas releases his grasp on the spoon relatively easily, his hand staying there for a moment before it finally drops somewhere on his lap. What he offers JJ isn't something as shiteating as his own grin, but certainly far from what he'd give someone he'd only see in passing. ]

Because it is gross.

[ He breathes out softly, something akin to a chuckle, and he reaches to place the bowl down first before he's taking the man by the arm. ] Are you certain you'll be able to stand for a whole shower?

[ He's not sure if Lukas is taking a jab at him, but he's going to assume that he is. And he doesn't take offence to it, smirk widening into an amused grin as he laughs—Lukas is kind of stuffy and poker-faced, so JJ can't say that he would mind seeing him have a little bit of fun. ]

I'll sit if I can't stand.

[ Because his stamina is arguably awful, and it's not uncommon for him to launch into a coughing fit that leaves him dizzy and disoriented. It's easy to forget that when he feels so clear-headed now however, and he's quick to give Lukas a sly smile as he stands up with the other man's help, leaning heavily on his side and dropping the spoon onto his bed as he does so. ]

Unless you're just keen to get in there with me. You know I'm engaged, eh? This meat's off the market.

[ He might be sick, but that's not going to stop him from continuing to be the worst. ]

[ He's dirtying the bed even more... fuckin' Lukas is going to have to clean that, too. Though he voices no complaints, keeping those to himself as he focuses on guiding JJ towards the bathroom. ]

I wasn't implying that in the slightest. [ Said hollowly, his eyes nearly squinting. ] You and I share similarities in the fact that neither of us are available. [ He might feel nothing towards his partner but whatever. ] And besides, I'm not interested in you.

[ They manage to get to the bathroom without any complications, hopefully, and Lukas is just going to... carefully sit JJ on the edge of the tub or something. ]

That said, feel free to undress because I'm certainly not going to bother staring.

[ Okay, well, that's unnecessarily candid. JJ's smile goes slightly tight at the comment, deciding not to mention that the comment hurt his feelings. Normally JJ wouldn't be that bothered by the opinion of one person, people have different tastes, but he has been a little sensitive, given his general state of unattractiveness.

It's doesn't happen often, but JJ's put to silence, and he pulls off his shirt without any further remarks. His stomach has grown softer throughout the month, both from lack of appetite and exercise. It's not easy to look at the state of his body, and he supposes to it should be the same for Lukas. A puffy face with smears of dried blood particularly sexy. ]

Are you dating someone?

[ Which isn't surprising, Lukas is good looking and nice, there's no reason he wouldn't be in a relationship.

His arms stay limp for a moment, tired from the effort to pulling his shirt off, and it takes a beat before he's untying his sweatpants. ]

[ I SAID WHAT I FUCKIN' SAID ON PLURK!!!!!

Of course there's little Lukas can base off in that fraction of a second where JJ's face shifts, but putting consideration into his own words he begins to realize that they may reflect negatively in another person's perspective. He doesn't aim for an apology immediately, in case he's reading into things too much (despite it being described as a positive trait of his), though his brows do curve with a puzzling look before his expression slowly relaxes. ]

I am engaged. [ He begins running the water, and like any father he ensures that the water isn't too hot for baby JJ. ] She is in stasis, as are the rest of my comrades excluding Clair, though our relationship is for family purposes, more than it is a decision we've made ourselves.

[ And he continues to make it sound depressing, great. ]

The bath is ready.

[ Okay, there's no way the bathtub would fill up that fast. It takes me like five years to get a bath ready.

But whatever.

JJ's almost excited when Lukas mentions that he's engaged, but of course the mood is swiftly killed when he continues and informs JJ that it has nothing to do with love. ]

Oh. [ Sucks, man. ] I can understand wanting to make your family happy...

[ He can. It's not like JJ doesn't know that his parents hadn't exactly approved of all of his decisions in terms of his career and past times, so he'd done his best to try and please them in other ways. But he can't imagine ever going as far as marrying someone he didn't care about because of them. ]

So you don't love her?

[ IT FILLED UP FAST THANKS TO MY THIRST!!!!!

And for once Lukas pauses. It's not unlike him to carefully calculate a response rather than speak on impulse when it comes down to information about himself, especially when answering questions he himself isn't absolutely sure of. Despite his past conversation with Python what he felt towards the woman he supposedly is meant to marry is still fogged by his attempts to connect with the emotions he's grown cold to over the years. ]

I'm unsure.

[ Is what he answers with, tone flat, but rather than continue to sit on something depressing during their conversation he decides to switch it up: ] Does your significant other share the same hobbies as you?

[ The answer is mind boggling to JJ, who couldn't stop loving Isabella if he tried. It would be easier certainly, when they're separated like this, and the ache that comes from missing feels like as much of a disease as the actual infection chipping away at his health.

He mulls it over, unable to wrap his head around the concept that Lukas might not even love the woman he's going to marry. How are they supposed to build a future together like that? How would they find happiness that way?

Drawing the string for his sweatpants, JJ slides them off without much hassle, sinking into the water shortly after. ]

It's not like JJ to be so subdued when he talks about Isabella, but the warm water has his body temperature spiking, the sudden warmth leaving him a little dizzy. The tub is also hardly big enough for someone of his height, his knees poking up out of the water, and he has to cup some water in his hands to draw over his face and hair, smoothing it back and enjoying the way the water cools over his too hot cheeks and forehead.

He can't move past the idea of marrying someone you don't love. ]
