[ He nods, and moves to the side, leaving Keith's path to the weapons rack clear. It has escrima sticks, a few staffs, and wooden swords. He can have his pick. ]

What's your name?

Keith.

[Just Keith -- for now. His eyes follow that movement, studying the array of weapons suddenly at his disposal. He still has his knife, the Galran sort, attached to his belt. It's his preference to train with that, but some change may be in order. Just in case.

He'll step closer to the display, glancing between it and Alan.]

Should we train with the same weapon?

[First time and all.]

[ He nods. No last name doesn't matter much to him, nor whether it's a real name or not. Soon enough they'll know much more than names. ]

We should.

[ The test right now isn't how versatile they are against an enemy with a different weapon. That's for much later, if Keith stays. ]

The wooden sword?

no worries, welcome back!

[He'll give a slight nod at that, reaching for the sword nearest him. He's most comfortable with a blade -- wooden or not. He's less experienced with a bokken, but it can't be all that different from what he's accustomed to. Hand to hand combat.]

Should I be...signing anything?

[Like a waiver? They all did just arrive here with nothing but the clothes on their back; a waiver or any similar such paperwork would be kinda silly. Still, it's worth mentioning.]

[ Bruce glances at Keith's wrist, making a note of his grip. ]

Do you want to?

[ It's wryly said — health insurance is probably going to take a while — and he doesn't foresee any injuries unless Keith turns out to have an ability he can't control. ]

[He's having a similar thought; there are some people here with abilities, but given the context that they're in...

He shakes his head. He's been through worse without a contract.]

I'll pass.

[And he'll fall into a defensive stance with that.]

[ Another day, when he has a better sense of Keith, he might lunge without warning. But right now, Bruce doesn't spring that on someone so young. He moves quickly, but measured — the first few punches intending to feel out Keith's reaction time and preferred style. ]

[He'll be on the offense, keeping his distance. Similarly, he's not sure what this guy's strengths are. Keith's quick on his feet -- not a master swordsman by any means, but much better than the average Joe.

For the time being, he's keeping up, matching his strikes with blocks -- it's similar to fighting the training bot back on the Castle of Lions...]

[ Bruce keeps him on the defensive. He's holding back, but not using kid gloves — Keith obviously has some training. Once he's satisfied he's measured Keith's reaction time and basic technique, he switches, lets Keith come at him. ]
