[Majima lets out a small laugh and drops into a lower stance. His feet tense against the mat beneath him as he gets ready to strike.]

[At that, he rushes forward, fast enough to almost blur, and throws a punch towards Alan's solar plexus. If it hits, good. If it doesn't, he'll have a better idea of how the guy can move.]

[ He has learnt to be wary of those who speak it as their mother tongue — even as they are the ones he understands immediately and intimately. Violence can rarely be quelled, only tempered. ]

[ It doesn't hit — Bruce blocks it and redirects, countering the force. His blows are testing for his opponent's speed and strength, like a dog snapping at another, judging when to go in and really fight. ]

[It's a relief, in a way. No one he can flatten in one punch is worth being called a sparring partner. Majima ducks out of the way of a heavy fist, close enough to hear the weight of it as it cuts through the air. Makes sense, he muses through growing adrenaline-- the more weight you have, the harder you should throw it around. It's a good trade off for the speed you don't have. With that in mind, Majima slinks back a few paces, where it'll be easier for him to close a distance on fast feet.

He watches Alan like a hawk for just a few seconds, his eye flitting across him for any tells of a next move. From there, he closes in again, going for a leg sweep this time. He'll have to wear his opponent down before getting into anything tricky.]
