Who: Jeanne d’Arc Alter (
lahaine) & You?
What: Event catch-all
When: Shortly after the explosion & announcement
Where: Various; home and streets
Warning(s): Violence and gore+, other than that, typical edgelord brooding...
I.
[ The scent in the air could only be described as nauseating to most. Flames licking away at flesh, consuming the remains of what were once human until they were nothing more than piles of ash, carried away by the wind. Violent flares of colors, red, orange, yellow, violet rose and fell as they washed over their prey. The crackling roar of the inferno mixing with the terrified screams of the now damned created a symphony so terrifying and depressing, it would drive most mad.
Yet there, standing almost gleefully amongst the carnage was a woman shrouded in black. There was an odd way that the flames refrained from encroaching on her person, keeping a careful distance as she made her way through the charred ruins. Almost admiring the work.
Her luck had never been her highest attribute, and with that said all she could do now, was examine what was left to examine. Exasperated, she would lazily kick around some of the smoldering debris with her foot, rattle some litter with her sword or cease the burning of some flames with her own control over fire. There seemed to be nothing of note here and it was questionable if those she had just sentenced to death were really all that deserving. As in, were they really once associates of this mysterious “Shady Man?”
A soft noise, a shuffle, alerts her to the presence of another. Gold eyes flashed dangerously. ] You should be worried, I am not sure how much patience I have.
II.
[ This was sort of impromptu so feel free to plot with me on plurk
heles or something! ]

You're wrong. [ Those two words are said with such conviction. ] Maybe some people are like that, but there are far more that aren't. There are those of us that are good. Or have you forgotten, I came running to help. Without my armor. Without my weapon. I still came.
[ Because Reinhardt really doesn't have self preservation when it comes to charging in to help. ]
So it matters. It matters to those who are now ashes and to those that were left behind. And it matters to you, I think. If it didn't matter, then why burn them at all? Just leave them to their petty lives.
[ He uncrosses his arms. ] And because it matters, you know I must report this. You can't just go around burning people and destroying property.

[ An aside added as a mumble. ] Obviously at least as big as you.
[ His words seem to leave her mostly unfazed, an annoyed look on her face was the only indication she was listening. At mention of reporting this, she would start to laugh. ] Hahahaha! What is anyone going to do? What sort of judgement could be passed upon me that is worthy of fear?
[ She feared nothing (or so she claimed), especially knowing that she had already be judged in the ultimate way. No mortal standards of repercussions could ever compare. ]

[ She laughs and he only frowns more. ] I don't know. That's not for me to decide. If it was for me, as a knight of the code, I would end you right now. Stop your wanton destruction for good. But it is not for me. It is for the courts. You have committed a grievous crime here and I arrest you for the crime of murdering innocents. You can come with me quietly or I can pick you up and take you there.

[ Wiping some dampness from her eye she would glance around, taking note of the escape paths presented to her. He was a towering and large man, but it would likely mean he was not as nimble as she. However there was no way in heaven or hell (if they existed) that she could grapple with him.
And then, she would pull herself together. Looking him dead in the eye, all humor seeming to cease. ]
No.
I'll tell you whats going to happen, old man; I am going to walk out of here and you are not going to bother me. We won't speak of this again. [ There was a growing dangerous aura that seemed to surround her as she presented her demands. ]

And Reinhardt just stands there, glowering.
How many times have those who sought to hurt others laughed at him only to fall to him later? He has lost count. So let her laugh. He is serious. He knows he is right about this and that she shouldn't be using her immense power to hurt others who have done nothing but try to live their lives peacefully. ]
No. I am not your father but I am sure if he were here, he would agree with me. This is no way for anyone to act. You did wrong here this day and you must face the consequences of those actions.
[ She looks him dead in the eye and says no. Says no and tells him what for. Reinhardt can only breath out a small sigh. He feels the danger surrounding her, but he doesn't fear her. He is a knight and he has faced death far too many times for her to shake him. ]
So, it is the hard way then. I am very sorry for this.
[ The huge man steps forward. His intent is to just grab her and drag her. Of course, he has no idea what he's actually dealing with here. What is an old human (abet a very ridiculously strong one) compared to a Servant? ]

Her fierce glower was now accompanied by a slasheresque grin, as if imploring that the crusader just try and come closer to her. Grip tightened on La Pucelle, and heat began to radiate from her fingertips. ]
Tch, don't think I will go easy on you because you're a protected class! Let's see what you've got, old man!
[ Without any more of a warning, she would bring the blazing black blade up in a vertical motion in front of her, while leaping back some to keep an apt amount of distance between them. If he lunged at her through the steel and flame, she wouldn't be surprised in the slightest. Perhaps if he ducked down enough, she could use his head as a stepping stone to get past him and flee the scene. ] Hahahaha!

[ The fire should be something that would make him rethink his life choices. But he's already decided. He knows this woman is a danger and must be stopped before she hurts more people. He might die with glory today, but he will do so trying to stop this threat from getting worse.
Still, he wishes he had his hammer. His armor. His shield. This wouldn't be the first time he went after someone without any sort of protection at all. Honestly, he should know better.
So he does lunge. He drops that shoulder and charges through, ignoring the way the fire brings the smell of burning skin and hair to his nose. Ignoring whatever wounds she might cause. What are a few more scars on a body that already has so many?
But his head is ducked down. She is small and to tackle her against a wall, his shoulder needs to drop all the more. His head is definitely in the perfect position for her to step on and run. Heck, with as strong as Reinhardt is, he might barely feel her weight as she does. But he'll know what she's done immediately. Too late to change course easily. As always, in a contest between Reinhardt and the wall, the wall wins. He smashes into it, dazed without his armor. Managing to turn just in time to be able to shout at her departure. ]
COWARD. YOU HAVE NO HONOR!
this is what happens when you go in w/o your team fam <3
[ His words as she began to exit the alley had no real impact on her. Coward? Honor? Tch. Eyes closed briefly as she responded on her way out. ]
Ain't that the truth.
[ Though really, she hoped she wouldn't meet him when he was actually armed. That could go a very different way... ]
