if you hold me tight, we'll freeze together
Who: Sidurgu Orl (
abyssalflame) and others [open/closed]
What: October things
When: 10/1 - 10/15
Where: Wherever he needs to be?!
Warning(s): Sid is a grump and has many edges.
1)
[Perhaps you're just slow on your quarry, or perhaps you've let them go for one reason or another. Perhaps you're mid-conversation, about to get some pertinent information from them.
But Sid has been tracking this particular associate, none too patiently, and wastes no time driving an enormous blade through their midsection from behind once he feels they're no longer paying attention. A body drops to the ground and off his weapon, which glows under the flow of blood which he makes no effort to clean off. There's the faint sound of a steady dripping on the ground.
He's quiet for a moment, eying the corpse, then casting a glance at whoever happens to have borne witness to his attack.]
If you have a problem, say it. Otherwise, consider it a favor.
[Either he's a terrible kill stealer, or he just slaughtered someone you were planning to interrogate. Either way, he doesn't seem to care what the reaction is, steely-eyed and holding himself tensely.]
2)
[Wildcard! Please feel free to throw a scenario off the top of your head, or ping me at
quko to plot!]

[As he goes to try and walk, though, he finds his balance is shot, and has to grab X'rhun's shoulder in an effort not to topple back over again, coughing a bit of the excess smoke from his lungs. As surly as he's acting about it, though, at least he's actually accepting the help.]
...Right. I can't die here. I have someone else whose future I have to think about, too.

[ Thankfully X'rhun is pretty sturdy for a short guy, so they don't go crashing back to the ground when Sid leans on him.
That was... an oddly personal little bit of information, especially coming from someone who has previously been so standoffish, and X'rhun casts a curious look at the Xaela. It's not his place to ask, he knows. Maybe one day. ]
I don't believe I ever got your name.

[A pause to tilt his face away, still trying to maintain the illusion even though he's well aware it's likely already been broken. His head is swimming, though, and it's hard to think in a straight line.]
Call me Sid.
[He wonders; X'rhun is clearly no conjurer, and he's not a Hearer with a stick up his ass either. But raising someone from the brink is no simple feat, something he's learned from both Fray and Rielle in the past.]
That magic you used... even some conjurers aren't worth their salt in reviving someone. That strikes me as odd, considering you've no cane on you.
no subject
[ Usually he would accompany an introduction with a flourish of some kind, as is his wont, but with a heavily armored Xaela using him for support, he refrains. ]
I am no conjurer, that much is true. I am a red mage, though I don't expect that to ring a bell. There are very few outside of Ala Mhigo who are familiar with the practice.
no subject
Ah, that imperial mess.
[It's said with emphasis not on disdain for Ala Mhigo, but for the imperials. Despite having met with so few in his years, it's hard not to hold them in poor regard by default when the encroaching invasion was the root cause of their migration to Ishgard in the first place.
...Perhaps not having met with them is exactly what his family would have wanted, though.]
Then, likewise, you probably know little of Ishgard's dark knights.
no subject
That's former imperial mess to you.
[ Obviously, there's nothing malicious in his tone. It's a jest, with a hint of pride. Ala Mhigo met the Storm as a free nation, and though that does little to ease the weight of the loss of all of Hydaelyn, he still counts it for the joyous occasion it was. ]
I cannot claim to be familiar with the dark knights, even in passing. Am I to assume that you are one?
no subject
[Though, any hint of mirth vanishes again when he hesitates in his next step, then decides to say what's really on his mind.]
You know, I hope you realize you're embarking on a fool's errand to keep saving the skin of someone who can't keep it together.
[Based on their last conversation, anyway, even if he still doesn't entirely buy the reason given. He turns his head and mutters something indistinct.]
...Thanks. You're still a fool, and I can about guess why you did it, but...
no subject
Sid decides to make it personal anyway, albeit going in a different direction, and X’rhun casts another look up at the dark knight. ]
Mayhaps I am, but you’re still alive, aren’t you? That’s enough for me.
Besides, were you not the one who told me you had someone you had to live for?
no subject
Yes... well.
[He'll not be doing that again, though it shouldn't have been necessary in the first place, either. Still, the whole thing bothers him the more he thinks about it, and while he suspects there's more to it... maybe it's all just exactly what it seems to be, too. Why would someone attempt to bring an enemy down without a sense of desperation to the fight?]
I still can't bloody well understand if she was having a child's tantrum, or if she hates herself badly enough that she's just looking for a decent way to die.
[Perhaps he shouldn't ask questions he knows the answer to, somewhere in his heart.]
no subject
[ He shrugs one shoulder, the one without the weight of an Au Ra leaning on it. People do things for all sorts of reasons— for Sadu, it was sport. A hunt, a game, and as loath as he is to admit it, he’s still bothered by that. ]
Mayhaps you should ask her yourself, if you cross paths again. But considering the state she put you in, I wouldn’t try to do that right away were I you.
