I can't wait to get on the road again
Who: Genjo Sanzo (
smithandwesson), Soldier 76 (
personalwar), Yusei Fudo (
planetary_bonds), Giovanni Rammsteiner (
ofobedience), & Open!
What: A pair of wanted fugitives escape Olympia captivity and attempt to integrate and blend in with Wyver society.
When: October 19th onward
Where: The Undergrowth & Wyver: The Old City
Warning(s): Nothing to note!
[Sanzo had never been one to handle forced captivity well. It wasn’t his first time of course, but the moments in which he had been stuck under Olympian Watch was perhaps the longest he had lasted before making his move (a whole ten days, wow). So it was without hesitation that he started thinking of ways to get out the moment the cities evacuation to Wyver was mentioned throughout the prison.
Escape was simple enough. He had met up with someone who had been in the exact same fucking situation he had been in, and finding an opening when the guards weren’t fixated on watching them was surprisingly simple. Getting into other caravans and finding their weapons was a bit more tedious of an endeavor but they had eventually managed to find what they needed and soon enough were able to get out and lose themselves once more amongst a countries worth of people as they were forcefully placed into a new land.
He was wearing his cloak again. Once again shrouding his appearance as much as he could as he wandered about. Between gathering food and supplies within the Undergrowth like many of the other Olympian refugees, to lurking around the less crowded markets of the Old City, Sanzo was working his hardest to gather his bearings and once again survive. He had no home now, and what little money he had gotten he had stolen from the guards before his escape. It was almost nostalgic, as if he were once again the brat he was so many years ago, with no where to go and no lead to follow. He was once again wandering aimlessly like a street vagabond, a shadow of the high priest people once thought him to be before he ended up here.]
(OOC: Sanzo is once again on the run and this time trying to escape from Olympia’s manhunt for him for good. He can be found inconspicuously running from place to place but if looked at close enough one can make the distinction between him and the wanted posters that were once all around Olympia. He also currently has a temporary camp set up with Soldier 76 while they attempt to settle into Wyver. Otherwise he can be seen hunting for food, purchasing cheep goods from some of the shadier shops and panhandling for money along the streets.)

Let Sanzo find out in due-time what a true "big-guy" is like.None the less, Sanzo lets out a small grunt of approval as he watches 76 breaks open the crates. Immediately slipping past to rummage around as he saw fit through the various supplies.
It took a bit, of course. They were far from the only prisoners being transported. And it seemed it wasn't only the prisoners but quite a bit of the guard's supplies and armory involved as well. But, after his fifth crate in, he paused. His rummaging stopping.]
Ah.

Finally, Sanzo seems to hit the jackpot. There's a whole crate full of things, so 76 can't be sure what's caught Sanzo's attention, and right now he doesn't particularly care.
When he speaks up, it's with a snarl. ] Grab it and let's go.
no subject
[Despite the snarling Sanzo was quick to quip in. Slowly pulling out a small black armband with a gemstone on it.]
Found something of mine, not what I was looking for though.
[None the less he pockets it before quickly going back to his rummaging.]
Must mean that my gun should be in this box somewhere.
[Is that shouting that can be heard in the distance?]
no subject
With a growl, 76 goes on one knee and uses his free hand to help with the search, picking random items out of the crate and tossing them aside so that they can unearth the gun faster. When he sees a glint of metal, he glances over to his partner in crime. ]
Is that it?
no subject
Ah.
[It's almost amazing how quickly the tension seemed to have left his body as he looked over the small snubnosed revolver. Popping it open and inspecting it curiously before spinning the barrel and pushing it closed.]
.... Bullets.
[Really Sanzo?
And go figure the shouting seemed to be getting louder.]
lmk if this is okay!
Guess you're going to have to resort to pistol whipping people. We gotta move.
[ There's no more discussion on the matter, not when 76 stands and makes for the carriage's exit. If Sanzo resists him, all he'll do is pull harder, and he definitely has the advantage when it comes to brute strength.
Just how hard do you want the handcuffs to dig into your wrist, Sanzo? ]
Totes cool by me!
He wanted to have bullets for his gun, but not enough that it was worth a sprained wrist.]
If we run into any of those guards when we get out of here you better hope they're not carrying any fucking artillery on 'em. As well as hope that civilization is real close by, cause hunting is going to be a bitch without a working weapon.
[None the less, despite his own bitching, he allowed 76 to drag him along. Hesitantly looking back at the wagon as he was pulled out of it.
The guards sounded close, and there were many of them this time.]
Seems someone must have seen either our empty cell of the passed out guard.
no subject
We'll live. Just come on.
[ Again, it's not like Sanzo has much of a choice in the matter, as 76 barrels out of the wagon and then drags them into the cover provided by a nearby bush. He lays flat on the ground, tugging Sanzo down with him. He can feel vibrations through the ground from the thundering footsteps of the approaching guards, and when they get close he holds his breath.
They just need to wait for them to move on to one of the other wagons, and that will give them the opening to run in the opposite direction. ]

After a few minutes, the shouting continued to the point that it was practically beside them. A group of five guards approaching, one of them leading the group. He seemed to point to the passed out body of the single guard on the ground before pointing off in the direction of the cages and then pointing off in the direction of the nobles caravan.]
You search out forwards! See if they ransacked anything else! The rest of you fan out! They couldn't have gotten too far seeing as it was before the last time we moved!
[And with a simultaneous salute did the guards spread, two towards the caravans, two fanning out, and the apparent leader standing there for a moment to scowl at the mess.]
Looks like we should have probably hidden that guard.
[Sanzo mumbles out begrudgingly. And here things were going so smoothly up until this point.]
What do you say? Should we get the fuck out of here before more security finds out? Still looking forward to getting rid of these restraints.
no subject
Not his problem, though.
When Sanzo whispers to him about what his plan is, 76 just nods, continuing to watch the guards in the immediate area around them. All he's waiting for is a long enough opening where no one is looking in their direction, and as soon as that comes he pushes up into a crouch and then yanks Sanzo away from the wagons.
Making a one-eighty, he pushes both of them deeper into the woods. He has no idea where they're going, but right now he just wants to put a safe distance between them and the Olympians. After that, sneaking their way into the city shouldn't be too hard. ]
We're almost in the clear. Just keep up.
[ The undergrowth and tree cover around them gets thicker with each step that they take, perfect for blending into their surroundings. ]
no subject
[Wow. Way to rough around with the
not toodelicate mercy big guy. He had a feeling he'd be feeling it in his neck later on with how much you've been yanking him around. But, miraculously, they seemed to make it far enough into the topiary that the guards and Africans could no longer be heard. Nothing but the cool breeze rushing the trees and the birds chirping somewhere high up above.]
Great. We're away from the assholes who want to keep us chained up. Now what?
[He was still whispering despite himself, not wanting to take any chances despite being in the clear. Still, now they were in the middle of no where with nothing save for the clothes on their back and a useless gun.]
Hope you're used to some real survival. Cause we're probably stuck living it old school for the next while.
no subject
That's about to end, though. ]
First thing's first...
[ 76 grabs for the chain of the handcuffs with his free hand, pulling and exerting pressure on it until it breaks. Each of them still has a broken cuff on their wrist, but 76 can live with that for now. ]
Don't be so dramatic. We just need to find another route into the city.
[ They'll need to make a wide circle around where the wagons had been to avoid any search parties, but the jungle should work in their favor. ]
no subject
Like.
Seriously.
This asshole just broke these chains like they were made of paper.
So why the hell didn't he just do that from the beginning?
None the less he was just happy to be free. Sanding up and rolling his shoulders before taking a step to look around.]
The entire country is in exodus. With it there will be guards scouring not only the woods in hopes to find us, but along many of the major pathways to help aid the move. You really wanna take that risk?
I'd much rather stick to the woods and attempt to cut through.
no subject
They can argue about the best way to get into the city, and when to do it, all they like. But the fact is that they shouldn't be teamed up for this part anyway. ]
Either way, we're probably better off splitting up at this point.
no subject
[With that Sanzo shrugged. Truthfully now that he was free and able to stretch his shoulders a bit all of his crutches were starting to come back to him.
Damn if he couldn't go for a cigarette right now...]
Can't stop you from doing what you want to do. Personally, I'm looking forward to an open barbecue under the stars with some freshly caught game.
[Of course, the lack of bullets would make it harder... But he'll manage.
He always has.]
My first time heading to Wyver, but I'm sure we can't be too far. Looking at how we've been traveling up until now it seems to be straight south.
no subject
Good luck with the hunting. Just don't get yourself killed after all that.
[ There's no telling what's out there. Based on what 76 has seen in El Nysa's wilderness thus far, he wouldn't trust this jungle.
He gestures at Sanzo, not quite a wave and not quite a salute, but it's something. ]
See you on the other side.
no subject
[With that he tossed what was the closest thing to a smile he could ever possibly give. A snide looking smirk perhaps?]
I could wish the same of you. Don't get your ass captured again after you just got out.
[And with that he turned away, tossing a wave back towards his accomplice in crime as he started making his way deeper into the woods.]
See you in Wyver. Maybe we'll grab a drink sometime.
