Aranea will ensure he never tells anyone how a plant fucked her up this badly. The thorns slice into any exposed flesh she has, be it due to her high rising shirt bare arms — she finally feels the grip loosen when he gets his weapon involved this close. Her form takes a heavy fall, a thud as she catches herself. Her lance is a foot or so away, she scrambles up to pick it up and honestly? Lets him keep going slash crazy.
It's clear he's the victor in this.
So, she takes an aerial approach, using the power in her ankles and calves to leap all anime stile into the air. With a harsh downward throw, the lance impales the plant through the roof of its snapping mouth, causing it to flail uncontrollably.
Maybe it's almost dead? ]
no subject
While the plant itself can't move from one point to another, it seems it's still formidable in that it has a high tolerance for pain. At the very least, now that it's flailing uncontrollably, Qrow uses the chance to get the vendor to safety!
Well... as safe as possible. He carries the vendor up a tree and tells him to stay there for the time being, until the plant is dead. ]
You wanna do the honours?
[ Of killing it, he means. She might have something personal against the plant and all Qrow wants from it is money.
Their enemy may continue screeching and flailing, but doesn't look like it'll be putting up more of a fight now. ]
no subject
Aranea's too busy getting some revenge with that sweet javelin-like throw right into the creature's top. It's mouth was snapped shut, pinned now by the spear that rips into the plant. Her eyes focus on the vendor with Qrow doing a good enough job to save his life.
That's good. That's enough. ]
With pleasure.
[ The lance disappears into nothing and reappears within moments into her grasp, it takes all of a few short moments before she's back into the air, time keeping herself secured with her lance. Truthfully? She looks like she's poledancing a little. :/// With enough force to uproot a few bushes nearby, the lance drives down deep into the plant and turns it into green mush.
The impact is enough for her to stumble back, sighing heavily as she catches her breath. ]
Vendor alive?
no subject
At the mention of the vendor, he jumps up to the tree to get the man down. Once they're both safe on the ground, Aranea would probably notice that the vendor looks like he's about to cry. He can't seem to say anything, still shivering from the fear of almost getting eaten by a crazy plant. ]
... We should get out of here before another one shows up.
no subject
Last thing we need is a giant palm tree attacking us next. Yeah. I remember the way we came — got a nice view of it as I was getting dragged off.
[ She turns, kicking the stupid plant one last time before stomping off. Whether Qrow or the vendor follows her remains to be seen, but a shower is definitely calling her name.
Possible timeskip? ]
no subject
Qrow maintains some distance as they walk back to her apartment, not really interested in staying close. He wants to show some concern but he also doesn't want to make her think like he's babying her. It's why instead of sounding like some doting uncle, he offers a suggestion: ]
You up for a celebratory dinner? Guess it can be my treat.
[ Well, if she's not feeling sick or awful and after her shower, anyway... he also needs one, tbh. ]
no subject
Once the vendor was taken care of, she's going to definitely shower first. Well, that was the plan. She stops outside of the little apartment door, looking back at him. ]
Sounds like you're keen on me or you got some guilt about how that went down.
[ That she can observe. ]
But, won't turn it down. I'm starving. Just... no salads, alright?
no subject
It's— [ He looks away, feeling awkward. He shrugs his shoulders to try and break the tense atmosphere. ] It's nothing like that.
It's our first time working together, is all. Besides, this is a lot better than your heel being on my chest.
no subject
Aranea does note the jiggle, but she'll chalk it up to an older building. She's not the gentle gal you'd probably expect (ahaha), but fortunately, the doorknob does not rip off. It was good enough for her. Into the darkness they go as she immediately begins pulling off her armor, leaving a sap-trail towards the bathroom. Aranea keeps talking and will speak louder the further she gets. ]
If you play your cards right, it won't be the last time. Your weapon was pretty impressive, never saw anything like it. [ And she pokes her head from the doorframe, her bare shoulders visible — it's clear she's about to hop in the shower before they leave. ] Aw, I would rank that higher than this. I wouldn't mind doing it again, pretty boy.
[ Who knows if she's teasing. ]
no subject
'course you haven't. [ There's a lot of pride in him as he says that, and his confidence is being inflated by the compliment, too.
He relaxes on his bed (the couch) as he waits for his turn to shower. In the meantime, he can recharge his Aura by relaxing. ]
Built it myself. I'm the only one who has it.
[ But... ah........ Aranea don't tease him like that. He's totally considering all of this a tease. ]
What - step on me again? I don't think so.
no subject
Oooh. Add that to your mysterious back history, got it. How long did it take to make? It's gorgeous.
[ He hears the water turn on and she once again pokes her head out. ]
C'mon, you knew you liked it.
[ A tease and she's in the shower. For like 15-20 minutes. She'll emerge a bit later with more casual close, shedding light armor for casualwear. At least she wasn't covered in sap anymore. :/// ]
no subject
Not as long as you might think.
[ But he ends the bit of the conversation there, moving back to the couch so he can get ready for his turn to shower. He nods at his weapon on the couch when he enters the bathroom, signaling that she can look at it if she wants. ]
Just don't pull the trigger. It's a shotgun.
no subject
Before he knows it, she returns and is casual enough to walk out in a towel. There's a focus on the weapon, primarily for the craftsmanship and what strength it may have. Aranea's not subtle with how she dries her hair with a second towel, but she shoots him a look. ]
Nah. Gun's aren't my speciality. I mean, it's impressive, but there's standard on touching other people's equipment. Even with consent, you know? I'm a lady and I appreciate a guy who knows what he's doing with his.
no subject
Tell that to my niece! [ He's practically shouting as the water in the shower begins to fall on him. ] She keeps touching it and playing with it like a toy!
no subject
Has she reason to fear a weapon? I once use to play with fire when I was younger, but the first time I was burned — I learned to respect it.
[ She has no clue on how his relationships are, but - ]
Can you really blame her, though? It's pretty cool!
no subject
She actually made her weapon because mine inspired her. Hers is a sniper rifle, though, not a shotgun. No sword, either.
[ Man, if Ruby were awake and here, Qrow would be a lot less broody. She's a good kid. ]
Gotta be careful with your weapons, though. Mine's a part of me.
no subject
[ It's a jab at how his guilt and mood seems to swallow him at times. Still, she understands how a weapon could mean something to someone. Aranea's quite fond of her lance. ]
How old is she?
no subject
[ He doesn't take long to shower, and he comes out in just his pants. His hair's been towel dried for about five seconds before he hangs it on the rack.
Once he's back on the couch, he grabs a dress shirt he bought some time during his stay in Olympia. He actually doesn't own much clothes, repeating most of what he has majority of the time. It's not something he finds that he needs... it's really weird. ]
You got people from your world awake here, or are you the only one?
no subject
[ A light tease. He shifts gears about her, and she shrugs. ]
Just one. The friendliest disaster ever — Prompto. Know him?
[ She... conveniently does not bring up Ardyn. Mainly because their association is tolerable at the absolute best. Aranea ditches to her room, going to get dressed as he finds himself out of the bathroom. ]
no subject
[ He purposely says the wrong name. Prompty is Prompto's nickname, so. You know. ]
He's definitely a disaster.
[ Sorry, Prompto, wherever you are.
After buttoning his shirt, though, he clips his weapon to his belt and pockets his hands. ]
I'll wait outside.
no subject
[ It doesn't take long. She doesn't spend time to doll herself up. It was dinner, right? A casual thing. She's back out, locking the door and giving him a respectful nod. ]
Clean up pretty decently.
[ Said with a coy grin. ]
