Who: Anyone interested in taking some mercenary jobs via Aranea Highwind's offerings. She will be texting people she's made contact with in her initial mercenary network post. However, newcomers can find jobs posted in Wyver.

Aranea Highwind will ICly be contacting characters and offering them jobs based off the assumption she will receive 30% of the cut. Due to the change in settings, Aranea has waved her fee and is allowing people to keep the full cut of the payment to help them get on their feet.

JOB #1 — DRAGON RESCUE

With the infection in Wyver, a local dragon-nursery is in need of workers to help tend for sick dragons. They will need baths, feedings, and even surgery in some cases. Will you answer the call and provide the support Wyver needs in this trying time?

OUTCOMES:
- The nursery will pay you 100 silver for a day's work.

JOB #2 — REDEMPTION FOR FAMILY

An elderly woman named Vetmir has somehow got in contact with Highwind Hire, hoping to find her son's killer. Her son was murdered weeks ago by a former lover. The woman is hiding in The Old City, Alora, is often seen among the trading market near the evening making a living a drug trader.

OUTCOMES:
- Vetmir promises 140 silver with delivery of a locket her son gave Alora.
- Sparing Alora's life will earn you her side of the story, where she had to defend herself after a drunken encounter with Vetmir's son. This earns you 40 silver in appreciation and the locket, which nets you Vetmir's 140 silver if delivered back for a total of 180 silver.

JOB #3 — BONES FOR A CURE

Criny, a medicine woman is looking for a large supply of Puox bones from their camouflaged exterior. This crucial parts are needed to craft some potions to help relieve aches for the sick. While definitely not the cure, Puox is needing someone to travel to Murkwell Hollow and someone to help assist in potion making.

OUTCOMES:
- Anyone who brings her 6 bonespurs from Puox will receive 170 silver.
- People who help in potion making will receive 30 silver per potion with a maximum of 6 potions a day.

JOB #4 — SEARCH & RESCUE

Jillam, a street vendor, has not seen their fruit supplier in a few days. Worried they were lost in The Undergrowth, they are enlisting a search and rescue. Traveling to the Undergrowth will prove difficult — gather a small party for back up.

The vendor cart is abandoned with a broken axis, the fruit still good but the driver missing. Exploring further will allow the players to rescue Qun from a man-eating plant.

OUTCOMES:
- Anyone who participates in the search and rescue will receive 200 silver.
- Players can attempt repair the carriage and return the fruit back for cut of the food for free.
- Players who explore for the vendor will be able to fight a large man-eating plant similar to a venus flytrap with sentient vines. If Qun is rescued, you will receive an additional 100 silver.

Scary for Venom perhaps. Being bum-rushed by a dozen baby dragons would be a dream come true for Reinhardt. "Then when this place kicks me out for the night, I will ask." After all, it's not when his shift here is over. It's already over. It's been over for hours. He's here on his own time because this is the most wonderful place.

"No, no you won't. But that's all right, isn't it? It's nice to know that one of these noble animals trust you enough to sleep on you." That or Venom is very very warm. He knows he is, which is likely why he keeps having so many milling around him. "I take it like magic, you have things like this where you are from too." He's sort of jealous if that is so..

That kind of shocks Venom. The moment his shift is up (or when the dragon in his lap wakes up from his nap), he's cleaning up and bailing. But he can't fault the man for growing a little attached to them. They do have a charm to them when they're babies. The lap dragon has even grown on Venom a tiny bit.

It must be the warmth since a couple more are sitting in front of Venom and staring him down. "Ah, yes. We do have dragons where I'm from. But they're not quite like these. They grow much larger and are occasionally a food source, though you have to be a skilled chef to prepare their meat."

Reinhardt notices the two sitting in front of the younger man and giving him the eye. He chuckles and has to abandon his baby to reach out to pull them to him, so they could lay on either side of his legs while he returns to his dragon. The food on his plate is nearly gone. He feels a little sad about that. Not because he won't be eating tonight, but because it means the little dragon will no longer have food.

Which is fine because he can't help but gather her and a half dozen other milling dragons into his arms to hold them. Protect them. His frown is deep. He knows meat is meat. He has no room to talk since he loves wurst but...dragons. "No one is eating these little ones. I will give up every meal I am given. I will create a soup kitchen here before I allow one of these to be eaten."

"O-oh, I didn't mean it like that. Besides, I'm not much of a meat eater myself." Venom wouldn't call himself vegetarian as he does include meat in his diet. More like he doesn't take that much pleasure in eating it. That's reserved for cheese and bread.

"I have no desire to eat them at all." He finds himself petting the little one in his lap as he stretches in his sleep. Those tiny wings flap and fold as he nestles himself right back in, telling Venom he's going to be there even longer.

He still keeps his armload of hatchlings close to him anyway. Not because he doesn't trust this young man but because now that he's got an armload of baby dragons he doesn't want to put them down again. Though the little silver on his lap whines a little at being neglected for a little.

"Well, I do eat meat, so I know I have no room to talk, but not these little guys." He grins more as the little dragon on Venom's lap gets more comfortable. "You might be there for a while. But if you need to go, I'm sure I can add to my little pile."

That dragon pile is slowly but surely growing, and Venom doesn't envy him one bit. One sleepy dragon is enough for him, thanks. And speaking of the sleepy one, he yawns and stretches before sitting up to paw at Venom's chest. When Venom's about to pick him up, he hops into his arms again. Reinhardt wasn't kidding when he said this one was a cuddler.

"I must be really warm..." He mutters as the dragon re-settles. "It's all right for now. I can spare some more time before I go." He must be getting soft if he's letting a tiny dragon call the shots.

Reinhardt doesn't think of it as softness at all. He is anything but soft and he's got the little creatures all over him. The blind little silver has finished his plate and makes a move to crawl under his shirt for extra warmth. He lets it.

"It's good of you to do this. I'm sure once that one has rest, it'll be just as energetic as the others. You're helping it heal even quicker doing this for him. But if you must leave, I would be honored to take your place. I seem to have gotten some room on his lap."

That offer is so, so tempting, but seeing the little dragon all curling up to him... Venom feels kind of bad for wanting to move. "N-no, I think I'll let him finish his nap. I'm sure I can make the time pass by quickly."

He proceeds to scan the area for something to occupy his time and... is that a children's book he spots? Hopefully Reinhardt won't laugh at him as he points at it.

"May I see that book, please?"

Reinhardt would never laugh. Not for this. In fact, he just gives the smallest little smile and nods. The little dragons climbing on him are going to go for a small ride as he leans over to grab the little book.

He then leans back and over to carefully hand the little book over. "Here. And if it's not too much trouble, could you read it out loud? I'm sure these little ones would love to hear it too. And I wonder what sort of stories they have in this world."

The request has Venom tensing up. He almost wants to tell him that dragons don't understand humans, but looking at the older man with all of those tiny creatures climbing on him like unruly children... it kind of melts his heart. "All right."

Somehow, he manages to move and open the book without disturbing the one in his arms. He clears his throat and begins his story:

"Many years ago, there was a castle deep in the forest. They said a king lived there, but now it's a witch." Venom went on, noticing the one he's holding has perked his head up, like he's listening.

Reinhardt grins hugely at the fact that Venom is actually going to humor him. He settles in with his gaggle of babies. Some of them have gotten comfortable on him. The little silver snoring away inside his shirt and more coming over to surround him and enjoy his body heat.

As the younger man read, he leans forward, clearly enjoying the story as much as the dragons seem to. He knows it's just because it's a nice voice making sounds. He doesn't know what dragons do and don't understand. But it reminds him a little of the story he had told. Of Aldersbrunn and Junkenstein's Revenge.

It reminds him even more of the stories of his childhood. By the time the handsome prince shows up, he's grinning. "I'm surprised. The stories are so much like those I grew up with."

"It does seem that way, but I've noticed both here and Olympia have several stories about dragons. Before we came here, I just finished a trilogy of novels with a dragon protagonist." Venom conveniently leaves out the part where the novels were aimed at children.

He continues the story, and it has a very warm ending with the handsome prince making friends with the witch and bringing peace to the forest. The dragon in his arms has woken from his nap and decides to nip at the edge of the book, causing Venom to gently pull it away. "I'm sorry, but that's not for eating."

It seems the former assassin has grown a bit more fond of the creatures as he doesn't seem to mind another one crawling up on him. But his own shift ended a while back, and he should go. "I believe it's time for me to head out..." He nudges the two to go over to Reinhardt because he's larger and has even more warmth to offer.

"I might return tomorrow. We'll see."

"Those sound like great books. I'll have to look for them when we return to Olympia." Though if he's honest, Reinhardt almost doesn't want to leave Wyver. He doesn't want to leave the little dragons. He's already attached. But he has to go because he promised Jack he would look after Lena.

He laughs then when the dragon wakes and he carefully reaches to the one that Venom was taking care of to lift it and add it to his growing pile. If he's not completely buried in a pile of dragons by the time the shelter closes, he'll be very disappointed.

"Well, if you do, I'll be here. I'm going to make this a daily place to visit." Mostly with his slim rations to share with the little silver. "If not, take care of yourself, young man."

Now that Reinhardt is properly covered in even more tiny dragons, Venom gets to his feet. He takes a good, well-earned stretch. "You as well, sir. And you..."

He points to the one who was sleeping on him earlier. "Please behave yourself for him. He's a very nice man." It earns Venom a sort of bark from the dragon, and it's almost the cutest thing he's ever heard.

With that, he leaves Reinhardt to the dragon pile, quietly glad that he stopped by to help.
