He doesn't have to be anymore than a fruit seller.
[It can be perceived as suspicious, as most things can, but someone fussing about not getting his fruits and wanting someone to check up on his guy--
Maybe he's stilling more than fruits? Maybe this is exactly what Duo was implying.]
...Well we gotta do is find out what's up and report back.
[Not that he's one to shy away from adventure/M. Night Shyamalan-esque adventures...]

Ah, so now we're just regular old good guys goin' in after someone? [ Now he's just being a jack ass for the sake of being a jack ass, honestly, but what else could be expected out of Duo Maxwell? Still, whatever, he's up for a little gallivant in the woods to see what they can find and what not. Duo moves his braid up on to his shoulder, a bit to keep it out of range of low hanging branches and what not and also.. just because it's easier that way.
Having a baby's worth of hair hanging off the back of your head can be a head ache. Literally. ]
Then let's go. [ If they're gonna work it out together, at least. Inedible parts of his fruit tossed aside with a bit of a careless motion - (hey, it's biodegradable) - Duo starts off, making sure to keep an eye out for anything that looks overtly man eating. ]
Been a while since I've had to wander around in a place like this, honestly...

Did you used to get stranded in the woods a lot?
[Could be a boyscouts things, but Duo's a special person with a special case; pot, kettle, etc.]
It doesn't matter, as long as you can track.
[Make some sense of the path they're treading. Thankfully, he's pretty good with that.]

[ You're lucky Keith - that's pretty much an every day question for Duo back home, but here he tries not to think about it too much or too heavily. When people start wandering in to complications and thinking too hard about it is when things got messy.
Duo can't help laughing a little as he asks about getting stranded in the woods, making a little hand weighing motion as he thinks about it. ]
I mean.. in a way. Mostly using it to go undetected. [ He did have a big ass Gundam to hide most of the time, after all. ] Not necessarily stranded, but I sure as shit wasn't moving quick.
You tellin' me low key that you can't track, or seein' if I know how?
no subject
Seeing if you know how. [In a tone quieter than Duo'd been using.] But it's fine if you don't.
[Which might've come out more condescending than intended.]
no subject
.. Yeah I know how. Gimme a little credit here. Though my people trackin' was for different reasons than missing persons cases at the time... [ He doesn't go past that, though, not feeling the need to explain to him the ins and outs of tracking high profile people or even the movements of military groups. It's all a bit much to plop on a kid's lap like that, even if Keith is almost his age. The heavy particulars of being a kid terrorist weren't something that he wants to discuss with randos he's just met not too long ago.
Give him a couple months and some perspective on Keith's war and maybe he'll be a little more free with it. For now... ]
Hey wait... you hear that? [ There's some movement a bit off in the brush, and Duo ducks behind the nearest tree, thankfully small in this place full of fairly large foliage. It looks big enough to climb if a change in perspective is necessary, but for now Duo stays grounded. ] Doesn't sound like... distress or anything..
no subject
Might be an animal.
[Murmured, only just audible. That theory holds up for approximately two seconds as something comes sailing into their direction; only then does he duck out of view.]
no subject
Are there monkeys here along with dragons? [ Duo murmurs the sarcastic question with a bit of a brow raise, eyes darting back to where the projectile came from for a moment, then back to where it's landed. It... looks a bit like a .. seed? His head tilts, but he doesn't move any closer to it, for fear of some bonkers alien planet shit, surely.
The braided pilot can't make out too much more than some movement from whence the seed came, which is irritating, and he looks up to the branches above him, contemplating. There's the possibility that this fruit seller is the one trying to ward them off, thinking that they're something else coming to get him, but more than likely this might be someone trying to intimidate them from continuing. Looking around for options comes to a halt when he notices the seed beginning to split open, slowly but surely, which sends the braided boy scrambling. ]
Shit! Get away from that thing!
no subject
And then, concentration crumbles.]
What thing?!
[Whipping his gaze around to focus on Duo, then look to the object that was thrown, back to Duo. Whatever's hatching....it's a disturbing sight just on principle, and he's more or less frozen in place watching.
So much for getting away. He wants to step on it.]
