His hand is shaking subtly against Yamagi's hand. Forgiveness. It's given, but is it deserved? Shouldn't he earn it? Or maybe being a memory before had made it easy to forgive him as he's faded out of Yamagi's mind. The distance between them now feels like a lifetime with how young they all expected to die. Yamagi and Eugene might as well be in their senior years when he looks at how short the rest of their timelines have been cut. Maybe it just makes it easier, safer, to forgive. He's never had to worry about forgiving other people before. He can't imagine what it's like to forgive a grievance that seems so big to him.
