Who: Cheryl Blossom (
sweetwater) & Bellamy Blake (
jettisons)
What: Cheryl makes friends!(?)
When: mid-Nov
Where: a market within Wyver
Warning(s): none
[ Cheryl's impatient to be settled somewhere again. she thinks she prefers Olympia, but Wyver isn't awful now that she's not ill. at the very least there's plenty to see in the market. most importantly: browsing through the stalls is a good cover for eavesdropping on people and getting a feel for who is who.
she's leafing through the pages of a leather bound book when she spies a familiar face - it takes a long moment to place him. ]

Bellamy Blake. [Cheryl returns the book to the pile it came from and flashes him a smile.]
Shouldn't you be out a hunting trip?

Let me guess. Concealer?

[ anyway... ] What do you do when you're not rallying the troops?
no subject
There isn't much to do here when we're not in emergency mode. You?
no subject
The same. A little bit of sightseeing, exploring the shops. Reading, sometimes, but I can't find anything I've ever heard of before.

[He finally closes the distance between them more fully, studying the books set out on the stall.]
What did you read back home?
no subject
Classics, poetry, French works that fall into the first two categories. And you?
no subject
Classics, sure. The Iliad's my favorite.

It's tragedy, isn't it? Millennia of literature that only remains in our memories, with these to replace it.

Guess we're going back to basics, unless you feel like writing it all down from memory.

The Iliad by Homer, translated by Cheryl Blossom. It does have a nice ring to it but not even I have it all memorized. Unless you have it memorized.

[Even that's giving them too much credit, probably, and it's clear he's not serious.]

THAT'S WHAT SHE SAIDway too much credit, but it's fun to pretend. ]Maybe we'll just keep it our secret. Others might not appreciate it the same.
