Warning(s): Nothing at the moment, but I'll add them as things come up. Mephisto and Jae-Ha are in the middle of some 18+ shenanigans in one thread but that's probably getting cut short.

haru;

one - searching for supplies;
[Haru's up in the Old City today, taking a look at the marketplace. She doesn't seem too perturbed by the state of the Old City itself; sure, it's... definitely got a sort of dangerous feel to it, but she's pretty capable of defending herself if need be.

The axe she's got strapped to her back is something she knows how to use, after all.

That being said, she's not really anticipating a fight - it's more of a precautionary measure. She's calm and polite with the merchants as she looks through their wares, though eventually, she has to stop and ask someone for directions-]

Um, excuse me. [You! Yes, you! Help a girl out.] You don't happen to know where there might be someone selling gardening tools, do you?

[Do they even garden here? Man, she doesn't know. There's plants every which way down in the jungle itself, but they don't really seem organized - it's a very wild feel.

Which has its own charm, of course, but...]

two - foraging for foliage;
[Midway through the month, Haru decides it's about time to get her butt in gear. She's more or less decided that she will be returning to Olympia eventually, but she doesn't want to forget the nice parts of Wyver, either...

So.

She's got a pack full of supplies and a simple sketchpad in hand. You might catch her throughout the city, taking sketches of the various plants that are growing there -

Or you might catch her looking at one or two of them, puzzled.]

Hmm... I wonder if there's some way of harvesting seeds from this?

[If she can, she'd like to grow some of these back in Olympia - though she's not sure they'll take to the climate there.

...eventually, of course, she'll wander to the Undergrowth. She has, at least, stopped to grab her axe, but now she's lingering at the entrance, checking over her supplies.]

Well, no time like the present...

[In she goes!]

three - many hands make light work;
[Haru's spent a decent amount of time in Wyver - but, toward the end of the month, she joins the volunteer efforts to help get Olympia back on its feet. It's only fair, after all - Olympia was kind enough to take them all in when they first arrived, and she can't in good conscience leave them to flounder now.

So. If you're on the road to Olympia at the same time as her, she raises a hand and calls out -]

Hello there!

[Safety in numbers, after all; maybe you can travel together!

On the other hand, if you encounter her once you're both back in Olympia, you can find her basically anywhere in the city - helping move supplies around, working on general cleanup, et cetera, et cetera. She's pretty strong for a girl her age.

Of course, everyone needs to take a break sometime, and she's no exception. Catch her while she's taking a breather and getting a bite to eat, and she might wave you over.]

Are you hungry? I have enough to share.

one - bad decision time;
[So. Uh.

Here's Yona. Here's Yona at Falmi's Ring, watching some of the fights with interest while clutching a few coins in one hand. Gambling probably is not the best habit for a princess to get into, but she's heard that if you get good at it, it can be a way of making money quickly. And since she doesn't have a steady job yet - she's mainly been doing odd job around Wyver for some coin - this seems as good an option as any.

For now, she's observing the fights. Her eyes are fixed on a slender man currently in the ring, ducking and weaving to avoid his much brawnier opponents' moves. He's quick on his feet and his strategy seems to be wearing his opponent down.]

Hmm... He's doing pretty well...

[Maybe she'll bet on him in the next fight.]

two - practice makes perfect;
[Thunk.

What's that sound? Well, that's the sound of Yona hurling small throwing knives (which she, uh, "borrowed" from Jae-Ha, sorry Jae-Ha) at a tree trunk. But it's better than the alternative! The sound means she's hitting her target and not, you know, missing and nearly throwing a sharp object at your face.]

Hah! I'm getting better at this.

[She's run out... looking proud of herself, she hurries over to pull the knives from the tree and heads back to the line she's drawn in the dirt for herself. Time to get back to work... Oh, hey, there's a person.]

Oh, sorry! Was I bothering you?

Oh, oops!

[Looks like she missed. Maybe you're an unfortunate passerby that is now going to have to dodge the knife? Maybe you got hit. Who knows.]

three - fangirl mode, activate;
[By now, Yona's a pretty common face at the stables, especially now that the week of the full moon has passed, the dragons are back where they're supposed to be, and they're not trying to... you know, eat them.

Today, she's hanging around and peering at them when she gets the chance.]

They're so beautiful...! I wish I could ride one.

[But, uh, she's broke. Alas.

Alternatively, if you catch her in the West, you may see her watching some of the dancers with interest.

...later in the night, you might catch her in a secluded part of town, trying to mimic the moves on her own. She's not quite ready to join in the dancing herself, but she would like to learn!

She's a little unsteady on her feet, though. It's a lot of twirling and jumping.

Heck, she might even stumble out and smack into you if you're not careful.]

[Someone promised Yona a date.

She's patient enough to give it some time read: several weeks during which i just crashed out on my couch after work instead of tagging, but eventually she gets impatient, hunts down Vane's contact information (don't ask how she got it), and sends him a message for him to meet her.

When she arrives at their agreed-upon location, she scans the crowds for him - and hurries over one she spots him.]

Vane! Over here!

[defenses]

[ per their agreement and his end of this bargain, he had upkeep all sides of his promise. hence, when he arrives, he's carrying quite the sizable basket. he had prepared since earlier in the morning and he had confidence in what he's brought. sort off. he isn't sure if it fit the recollection of the meals she had prior to arriving here, but all the same...

he perks up from his thoughts once she calls to him. ] Oh! Right on time! [ he says just as cheerily as he lightly jogs over to her. it's more crowded than he expected, probably in light of the all the festivities, but at the same time, he doesn't mind. it gave the streets a certain character and charm.

moreover, it sort of distracted him from the underlying concept that... this might have been a date?

when he manages to mark his position right in front of her, he speaks once more. his eyes scanning her over, before he hums in approval. ] Yep! You look all better now! Your face color has really improved. Big Brother Vane is relieved.

[cutefaced]

[It's a date. Deal with it, Vane.

When he looks her over, she gives a little twirl before smiling brightly. She can't really blame him for checking, considering the condition she was in when last they saw each other. Therefore, she has to be as energetic as possible so he can see that she's just fine.]

I feel all better, too! That makes two of us. [Being relieved, anyway.] It's good to see you again!

[defenses]

[ ... and it works. visually showing him that she's all better, that is.

vane was pretty easy in that regard. while he his concerns are still present, they're diminished significantly by how vibrant she appeared. he smiles at that, before giving a firm nod in return. ] Yeah! Health is super important!

That's why I brought a whole spread! You're got to eat a lot to regain your energy. [ with that, he gently settles his hand on top of her head. he ruffles her hair slightly... before... catching himself. ah, he shouldn't ruin her hair. he smooths it out a bit. ] ]

A whole spread?

[Come to think of it, that basket of his definitely looks bigger than it needs to be if he was just bringing some chicken rice porridge along. She casts a curious glance its way, and bring up a hand to smooth down her hair when he ruffles it.

Her fingers brush against his; she drops her hand to the side and speaks up again, sounding a little flustered.]

What did you bring?

[defenses]

That's right! [ he says enthusiastically, his arm lifting slightly, as if he were displaying its contents. in reality, all she can still see is the basket. but, when he feels her hand reach up, he lifts his fingers a little, turning them upwards if just to touch her fingertips idly.

is that what she wanted? he tilts his head slightly. ] I brought porridge, but I thought you might want something heavier. So I also brought some meat dishes and dessert, too! But, ah... don't eat too much! I don't want you getting any tummy aches.

[cutefaced]

I'll be careful!

[The promise is accompanied by an eager little nod. She has no intention of making herself sick again; she'll probably try a little of everything, but won't eat too much.

...except for the porridge, if it turns out to taste as good as the porridge from her memories.]

Did you cook all of this yourself, Vane?

[defenses]

[ ... and those words alone are pretty much all it takes for vane to be convinced. still, he thinks he's made enough for the both of them to enjoy without... being overkill. in theory. well, vane did have a pretty healthy appetite himself. ]

That's right! I love to cook! There's something nice about providing people with something warm and nice to eat, isn't there? [ he gives a small chuckle. ] But, even if I say that, I just like all domestic chores. [ which, brings him to his next question: ]

What about you?

[cutefaced]

[Vane better eat for the two of them, or else Yona might be tempted to eat a little more than she should. But time will tell.]

...I can't cook very well. I never had to before.

[Sweats.]

But, since I came here, I was taught to make s'mores and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and that was really fun!

[she's useless]

[ there's no judgment on his side. he supposes even amongst new recruits not very many seemed enthused with the prospect of cooking. still, at her next statement: ] Oh? That's a good start! [ he genuinely seems to mean it too. ]

I love a good s'more! [ suddenly thinking of it. ] ... you think you could make that for me sometime?

Of course I can!

[man cannot live on s'mores alone, but yona definitely jumps at the chance to practice what she's learned, so. a s'mores party it will be.]

Just let me know when you want it and I'll make it.

You shouldn't leave an offer like that too open. I can always eat! [ for better or worse.

even in the state of an emergency, he could always argue having another turkey leg. but, still, he's happy at the idea that they're close enough where they can share things like this. it's why it almost feels too natural for him to hold his hand out towards her. ]

May I escort you? [ his voice drops a little lower as he soon gives a small laugh.

it was a good... attempt at least. he knows it doesn't really suit him though, and so there's a bit of awkwardness to his stance. ]

That means we can always spend time together, doesn't it? That's a good thing.

[She says, smiling, as if she doesn't think there's a single thing wrong with what she's just said. In her defense, she means it platonically.

When he offers her his hand, she giggles and reaches out to take it. Her grip isn't painfully tight, but it's not especially light, either; she has no qualms about holding hands with him.

It's fine.]

That's very kind of you to offer! Please, lead the way.

platonically or not, vane is touched by the sentiment. he's always been pretty easily won over by concepts of friendship and bonds. but, that's also in conjunction to ... his evident surprise that she says it. normally, it's him who moves all too quickly?? ] ... R-really? I mean! Yeah! I think the same thing.

[ because he does, but that doesn't stop how unsure he probably sounds....

regardless, he swings their arms a little as he leads her. ] Mm! You can leave it to me! I found this super good spot the other day while I was ... wandering around! [ aka, lost. ] Anyway, I'm really good at shortcuts!

[She gets you, Vane. She gets lost all the time too.]

A super good spot? What kind of spot is it?

[She's curious! It's a good thing he has some idea where they're going, because Yona isn't going to be of much use navigating here. But she'll chatter about things along the way, definitely.]

There area lot of really nice places in this city... I wish I had enough time to see all of them.

There are lots of plants there! Some reaaaally nice flowers, too.

[ then again, vane isn't all too picky. he could also, incidentally, be describing a ton of different places— but, whichever they end up heading to first ... will probably just be it. ] Oh? Then, we should do our best to explore together. What do you think? Two pairs of feet are better than one...

Though, honestly, I was really curious for everything outside of this place too. I feel like there's so much I wanna explore, y'know? Before all of this, I used to travel a lot, so!
