Whether it was the Orbiters enhancing something she already had or something new creeping into her system, Jessica Jones was now capable of more than just 'falling with style'. Her morning with Clark and how well that had gone (/sarcasm) was making her a little concerned about having to leave the house. As to what that meant to others?

They might come across a scowling woman clutching onto a doorway. Or a tree. Or maybe she's reached out and grabbed someone -- perhaps a little too hard? Anyone noticing this might also notice that during these times, her feet might not always touch the ground, and if she's grabbed onto someone, that someone might feel an odd upward tug.

God help anyone that makes her jump. She'll remember you. She'll owe you.

"I can always use more of something else to drink." Not like she wouldn't pay him when he got in. She still had a lot of that money made from the stupid snake, mostly because she didn't spend a lot on anything else. She was used to living frugally.

His question, however, was amusing, and she gestured with her hand, taking him all in. "You went from sexy beefcake to almost average. You avoiding someone?"

"I'll see what I can find," and he will, honestly, though he's starting to wonder if it wouldn't be cheaper just to put some of his grandfather's lessons, lessons he'd sworn to his mother and father he'd never listened to, to work. There wasn't any law against moonshine here, to the best of his knowledge.

Maybe for Christmas. She might like that. And he always enjoyed homemade for presents.

"And this is part of that 'being able to stay in one place' thing," he says as he grabs his keys and his phone.

Hey. She had specifically said no presents, Clark. She sipped her drink, watching him get ready to leave. "Enh. I like the other way better. It's more... you."

This was like a costume. Like when she perked up and spoke all valley girl in the phone to get someone to meet her or to con someone into letting her have access to something she shouldn't.

"There's a reason I don't wear it in the house," he says before throwing off a salute and slipping out the door.

Yes, definitely some homemade moonshine.

What was Jessica going to do while he was going? Laundry, of course. In fact, with him out of the house, she could slip out of her whiskey jeans and toss them in with the rest of her clothes and a few towels and bits of whatever he had lying around that needed cleaning. See? She could be helpful.

Now he could come home to a place that didn't smell like a bar floor. She'd be reading in her room for the rest of the day, not really up to testing going out until tomorrow. Enjoy your shopping, Clark.
