Catchall log for December
Who: Tarrlok and you
What: Talking politics, random meetings, etc.
When: All month
Where: Olympia, Wyver, Thesa station
Warnings: None
This life of doing odd jobs did not suit Tarrlok. He was paying for cheap lodgings in both Olympia and Wyver at the moment. Although he was leaning toward Olympia purely for its climate, he didn't want to commit himself to one nation over the other until he knew enough to make an informed decision. Nor did he think it was a good idea for anyone else to do so. His broadcast early this month was sincere. He did want to work together with a group to achieve that objective. There was a slight self-serving aspect of it, in that it gave him direction and put him in a position to gain influence in the future. However, it would do the same for anyone who was part of the group.
He'd made a point of making himself available to anyone who might have seen his broadcast and wanted to talk, being out and about in both Wyver and Olympia throughout the month. Although he did want to find work that was more steady and politically inclined in the long term, he was fine with making himself useful with physical work in the short term. He liked to keep himself physically fit and this was at least an opportunity to do that.
(ooc: I've got some open prompts, but if you want a closed prompt, feel free to send me a private message or drop me a line on Plurk at FightingSpirit)

December 3-7 Wyver - collecting firewood
Having grown up in the Northern Water Tribe, Tarrlok is well aware of how to prepare for winter and keeping warm. He's sharing his knowledge where pertinent, while making his refugee status quite clear. It seems unwise to have anyone mistake him for an Olympian in the current climate.
At the moment, he's collecting dried wood for fires, and turns to someone who appears to be on a similar errand.]
I wouldn't use that branch.
[He points.]
It looks like it's rotted through.

So he raises his brows when he hears Tarrlock, looking up with the branch still in hand.]
Will it not burn if it is? I don't see the trouble.

[His childhood was spent in a very cold climate, and it was only in adulthood that he moved to a country with a more moderate climate and more modern amenities.]
December 3-7 Wyver - preserving food
He doesn't know how long he'll continue to have two residences. He'd rather have one nicer one than continue to go between. But for now, he's in the process of collecting buckets of water. His end goal? Make a giant freezer made of ice beside the tiny one bedroom cottage he's renting and store the food he's hunted there.
Perhaps you recognize him as that guy who made the broadcast about getting organized. Perhaps you're just curious about why he's carrying two large buckets of water. Either way, he turns back when he notices someone folowing him to inquire.]
May I help you?
December 8 - Thesa Station cafeteria
But first and foremost, he's hoping to speak to the Natha Orbiters about his plan to organize the refugees. Ideally, he'd like the Natha to direct people to this group to help get situated once they have a formal name and they are better organized rather than simply being an idea.
He hasn't had much luck in finding anyone, so at the moment he's simply having a meal. It's uncanny how well Roman has managed to replicate Water Tribe cuisine. When he spots someone, he pauses from eating his noodles to wave them over.]
Hello. Care to join me?
December 9-12 Olympia - helping out
He's not in the least bit shy about his use of waterbending here, where there are natives who use water magic. His waterbending seems to be nothing more than an interesting variant to the locals who've paid it any mind at all.
At the moment, he's using it to help clean up some of the graffiti people left on the walls while Olympia was mostly evacuated. He frowns at someone's rather large drawing of a dick.]
Tsk. You'd think people would find better things to do with their time during a crisis.
