shima
Hey, smell this.
[Whether he revealed himself previously and Shura let him tag along or if he just now got close enough for her to notice, Shima will find a couple twigs shoved right under his nose. It's not a familiar scent to her, but close. Like sandalwood, but with a citrus note to it, but with everything else stinking up the tent, she can't tell if her nose is getting confused.]
What does it smell like to you?
[no pressure or anything]
no subject
--Ah, uh. I guess it kinda smells similar ta some of the incenses our temple used sometimes?
[He leans back slightly before he gets a twig up his nose.]
What're ya looking for anyway?
no subject
Shura hums in response to his answer, bringing the twigs back to her nose for a final sniff. If it wasn't just her thinking it smelt like some incense from back home then it was worth a shot to try using it.]
Good enough. Hey, mister! I'll take these.
[Ignoring Shima's question for the moment, Shura has to spend some time haggling over the cost of the twigs as well as the price of a small brick of incense. The final amount she agrees to isn't anything to sneeze at, but it's still cheaper than trying to buy from somewhere close to the main temple. As soon as the goods are in Shura's hands, she's quick to hand the bag over to Shima, because what else are men for on shopping trips but holding bags??]
Take this. I'll explain it later. D'you know of a junkyard nearby or something like that?
no subject
I mean they gotta dump their trash somewhere, I guess?? These guys in Wyver seem really inta harmony with nature though, dunno if they'd make it a habit ta let stuff build up...
Ya could try up in the old city?
no subject
[She'd find something eventually, but wouldn't it be just damn convenient if she could just walk in and get the junk she needed? Spending money on training dummies was pretty pointless when Rin was just going to destroy them.]
We'll check that out later. Come on, there's another place we gotta stop by.
[Is she going to ask if Shima had plans for the afternoon or anything? No, of course not, why would she when he's the one who's been shadowing her for the last hour.
There's just as much to look over at the next stall, but Shura has an easier time picking out what she needs. Chalk powder was chalk powder, after all. But the large bag is substantially heavier than the twigs and incense, and that gets handed to Shima without a second glance.]
We'll hafta go into the jungle to do this. Ya haven't forgotten all of your seals, righ'?
no subject
E-eeh?? I'm coming along?? Are seals actually gonna have any effect on like... normal jungle animals? Though I guess nothing here's really that normal!
no subject
[The jungle's not a far distance from the last stall, but man, it's a hike! Good thing she has someone to do the heavy lifting for her.]
I haven't set up a good barrier the hard way inna long time. I dunno if I even can anymore. That demon of yours--did he come with you?
[Shura mostly only knew about Yamantaka's abilities from what Yukio had told her, but what better way to test the strength of the barrier?]

Tonight's special: a barfight between a hulk of a man and a guy thin as paper. For all that the smaller man looks ready to be blown away by an errant gust of wind, there's a wild spark in his eyes that catches her interest. The rest of the crowd dismisses him, loud shouts and cheers all echoing the bigger man's name.
She tips her head to the left, towards another bar patron idly watching the fight. ]
Hope you didn't place any money on the big guy.
no subject
Nyeheh, you sound pretty confident. He your man or somethin'?
[The little guy looked too confident, facing a big guy like that. There was always the possibility that he had been planted there as some kind of bait.]
no subject
Still— ]
Might be, if I had any money to spare.
[ She sighs, swishing her half-empty drink, conned from a long-gone overly helpful drunk. Lucky her, there's plenty of drunks to be had tonight, and her gaze flits from one to the next with interest. ]
Think of them [ with a nod to said drunks ] would mind parting with a few coins?
no subject
Hmm, maybe. See him? That one in the red shirt near the back?
[Shura motions towards the edge of the crowd. There is a man there, looking a smidge less rowdy than his companions.]
He's been whinin' about how he can't find a cute girl to drink with. He'll probably drop a few silver for you if you play your cards right.
[She was going to try and weasel some silver out of him herself later on, but if she was right about the little guy, Shura might get a bit more out of it.]
