[ their house didn't suffer as badly as others' did, but it still needs repairs — and more than that, they have lost some things they had, like clothes, and so Sansa is determined to make sure Jon and Father have clothes that remind them of home.

she's just coming back from getting some fabrics when she spots a familiar figure on the street ahead of her — and without really caring that shouting is likely going to attract some attention, she raises her voice, ]

Lena! Lena, wait! [ she's not about to waste a chance to see her friend again! ]

[ life as part of the guard is a busy one, and even more so with all the repairs which still need to be finished. of course, lena is going to take some downtime here and there because she knows it's useless to overwork herself.

there's no fun in that. she had just finished her shift and was taking her time heading back to her own place when she heard a familiar voice. her head perks up and she grins, waving her hand and making her way towards sansa. ]

Long time, no see!

[ she's just as happy to see Lena, smiling and reaching out with her hand to touch the side of Lena's hand briefly, a genuine gesture that means just how glad she is. ]

That's right... I hope you've been well. [ she looks well enough, but Sansa knows better than most just how deceiving looks can be. ] I was just about to head back home, would you walk with me?

[ there's a gentle smile at the touch of Sansa's hand, one that is hard for her to contain. ]

More or less, yeah. [ nothing worth complaining about. ] I'd love to! I just finished work so this is perfect timing.

Good. Then perhaps you can stay for dinner. [ it's just the answer she was hoping for, and she hopes the suggestion is alright... after all, she was already going to make dinner. gently, she links their arms, hoping that Lena doesn't mind her home's tradition. ]

You work with the guard, don't you? [ she recalls her saying something about it, before. ]

Of course. You're cooking, right? I bet it will taste amazing. [ there's just a little skip in her heartbeat now, excited to spend more time with one of her new close friends. ]

That's right. [ Lena nods her head. ] Been there since they first asked for more people to join.

I don't know about amazing, but hopefully it'll be edible. My father and Jon say it is good, but they might just say that to make me feel better.

[ she says this with a soft laugh — she loves them, but they are both terrible at this... she just hopes they actually mean it. ]

That's so brave of you. Is it very dangerous?

Have you never cooked before coming here? [ she raises an eyebrow, becoming curious about what life back 'home' for sansa would have been like.

there's a faint grin and she almost puffs her chest out in a proud manner due to being called brave. ]

Sometimes. I work in the theatre district so people can be a real pain there, either from people being stalkers or jealous actress' wanting to get the spotlight no matter what.

Not really, [ she admits sheepishly — back home, it would have been completely normal. here... not that much, she finds. ] In Winterfell, we always had servants to prepare the meals for us. In King's Landing, too. The royal cooks made everything, there.

[ so she never really had much reason to learn how to cook... until now. ]

That sounds hard, [ she says with sympathy. ] And like a lot of work... I could never do something like that. [ not least because she can't actually fight. ]

It's interesting to hear about times like that. Cooking just takes practice, it's hard to mess it up. [ so no judgement from lena.

maybe one day she can help teach sansa. ]

Compared to what I had to deal with back home, this is easier.

You wouldn't say that if you had seen my first attempt.

[ it was... well, let's say "a disaster" is about the right word to use. luckily, it didn't take her long to learn what she was doing wrong. ]

... yes, of course. At least there is no war, here.

Weeeell, in that case then it's just a learning curve. You have to start somewhere after all!

[ and if you do bad then the only way is up. lena nods her head in agreement because it wouldn't be nice if a war was here. ]

Finger's crossed one will never occur. But, if it does then I'll make sure to work hard to protect you. [ wink. ]
