They're here now, and so long as their rescuers hold up their end of the deal and keep her loved ones safe, then she'll play their game and carve a life out for herself here. [clarke didn't really have anyone her age to really that had similar enough interests to hers or have the same medical knowledge she did out of the rest of the her people so having someone to talk with about it was nice as well.

she just nods, her expression softens in understanding because it's something she is all too familiar with. her father, wells and even her mother...the latter she is a bit fuzzy on though because she has no idea if she did actually see her mother or not before she passed out and ended up on thesa station] Yeah, I've lost people people too— so I can definitely understand that.
