[ The thing of it is, Clark hates lying. He's spent his life living in such a way where hopefully, he doesn't have to lie because those questions don't get asked, or not to him. He's not the worst at it, which grates at him, but neither is he the best at it. But he tries not to do it. And the one lie he hasn't allowed himself here is to lie about his species to those who are clearly also non-humans. Those who don't have the choice to look different deserve, in his book, the truth. ]
