Entrance
Make sure to prepare well. It may be the only thing that keeps you alive. ]

He can't really believe it. His very own first Adventure Party! ]
When are we going?!
[ He's likely asked this a dozen times now. He looks like he's about to just rocket boost himself into the tomb, that eager to start this quest. ]
no subject
He lets out a small laugh as he goes over, patting the large man on the arm. ]
Soon, vhenan. We just need a few more preparations. We can't go in unprepared. I'd prefer us all to come out alive after all.
[ Still, it felt simpler with them all doing this together. Like the fate of the world didn't depend on what they found in there.
Which is a nice change of pace. ]

The mage appears at his side to give him a steadying hand. He pulls his helm off to grin broadly at Sen. His excitement positively sparkles off him.] I'll make sure we all get out alive. I'm the shield, ja? Whatever monster is in there, I'm sure my shield will hold out for all of you to get your hits in. [ A pause and a giddy. ] I hope it's a beholder or a litch!! I bet it's a litch in there, guarding the treasure! [ Another pause and a clang of two hands clapping together once. ] Or better. A litch beholder!! Ah, Senren, I can't wait! Are you sure I can't at least upon the door and take a peak inside?
no subject
Anything that isn't a litch would be preferable in this instance, Reinhardt. I hear they're not pleasant and dangerously powerful casters. Still, if we do encounter a thing like that I'll be sure to keep it from getting at you as well. We're no good without one of our juggernauts.
[ He's beginning to wonder if it was a good idea to ask Reinhardt along. This definitely felt like letting a child run amok with a toy he didn't understand.
But, he's not about to quash that dream and Reinhardt would at least know when to take things seriously. He raises a hand though to at least try and pacify the enthusiasm but with a small smile there. ]
We don't know if the door has been magically sealed or armed with some kind of trap. We'll need a chance to look at it before taking a peak. Wouldn't want any of our heads coming off.
[ and he's just going to step forward to give the man's armoured forearm a pat. ] After all, I'm especially fond with you having your head on. [ wink. ]
no subject
He heaves a small sigh and tries to calm himself a little. Tries. He looks from Sen to the group and back. Once again, Sen has a point. It might be trapped. Reinhardt isn't here for the traps. He wasn't brought because of the sneaking. He's here for one reason and one alone. He's there in case things get hairy and they need a very large hammer. ]
I like your head where it is too. So I'll wait. But I'm going to do a patrol quick, to make sure no one's around, following us to jump us while we're in there.
no subject
As for patrolling he nods, collecting his staff as he does. ]
Hm. Good point. I'll join you on that. The others should be fine to get everything else ready while we do so.
Who knows, we may have to fight off a group of evil cultists that followed us up here. That'll add to fun don't you think?
[ Which he'll bump Reinhardt's side with his own with a grin. ]
no subject
I look forward to standing shoulder to shoulder in battle with you! [ Not literally, because that means picking up Sen and he needs his hands for his hammer and his shield. ] It does sound like a good warm-up for the adventure ahead.
[ Even if there is nothing, it'll get his mind off the excitement of what's behind the door. The distraction is definitely want he needs before he does go off to do something deeply foolish like storm that door all on his own. ]
no subject
That's why I wanted you to come along; we made a good team last time.
[ But he still leans over to their ear and just whispers; ]
Besides, every party needs to have a handsome knight at the forefront. [ If winks were verbal well there would be one.
But he stands back up straight before moving off to start patrolling assuming Reinhardt would start following. ]
In the dungeons
ota
[ SLAM! The ceiling above him had shook and dropped a wall down towards him. It would've crushed him and whom he was with if they hadn't been fast enough to avoid. The only downside? They were now separated from the others. He stands up looking at the wall, his hands feeling the surface of it with an aggravated expression. ]
Just perfect. Who knows how thick this wall is. I'm not even sure we could get through it or the others would still be there.
[ There's a sigh of frustration, as he folds his arms over the other before looking over; ]
Any ideas?
Depths of darkness
[ Was this another trap inside here? Darkness. Darkness that no light could penetrate. He fumbles about, a hand on unseen wall as he begins to walk through blindly. He moves slowly in the dark, no sound but the beating of his own frantic heart. Would something jump out at him and tear him to pieces in this darkness? Or would it be a slow, tortuous process of letting his own mind eat away at him fearing the unseen before it finally got him?
Either way he wanted out. His breathing his a bit more rapid when he finally hears a loud noise behind him- or was it in front of him? In either case he whips his head towards it. It's instinctive what he says, but tries to sound commanding;]
Who's there? Show yourself.
Separated
[ A narrow miss from getting flattened is a good thing, but being separated in here for very long from the rest of the party is not remotely appealing to Vex'ahlia.
While Sen checks the new wall, Vex turns away, and begins a careful examination of the other walls around them. ]
Watch your step, for one. Could be a floor trigger, all it takes is excess pressure and we could have some other trap to dodge. But there could be a release in the wall somewhere..
no subject
No panels here. Just perfect. [ He turns back towards Vex and down the long hallway that lay before them. ]
I think that's our only way forward. With any luck will run into the others. If not...well hopefully we'll all make it out.
no subject
[ There's a muffled indignant reply from the other side of the wall, but Vex doesn't wait to hear it. Her wall search was equally fruitless, but at least they have some light on their side of the wall. ]
Let's backtrack to that three point cross-road a few minutes back, see if one of the other directions will bring us back around to them.
no subject
He doesn't normally do anything stupid, does he?
[ Like asking if the sky was blue or if Lich's were evil.
Regardless, he raises his staff to the air, allowing the end of it to glow and light the way ahead. ]
All right, lead the way, Lady Vex. If anyone's tracking skills can find our way back it's yours.
[ And he extends an arm out for the young woman to lead them on. ]

[ The dryness of her tone makes it difficult to discern how serious she means that, though she does absently tug at the singular earring on her right ear.
The inside of a tomb isn't exactly terrain she's most experienced with, but she still gives a polite bow in response before straightening and leading back the way they came. It takes a couple of minutes to find that bend, and Vex is glad they had thought to mark the way with chalk before. Retrieving a stick from a pouch, she draws a crude X on the stonework as a reminder (not this way!), before examining the center and left side passage.
Eenie meanie miney.. ]
I say straight on.
i rolled a d20 on perception and Sen got a 10.
[ Because he really doesn't want to find out WHAT exactly invokes that codeword when he's not in the room.
At the direction, he turns down the center passage keeping his eyes forward. Unfortunately, for the both of them he doesn't look where his hand touches on the wall....as it slowly sinks in. The noise behind them is deafening, loud crashing and grinding noises under foot.
He looks back quickly to Vex and then behind as he see's it; the floor was beginning to fall out from the path they walked and it was quickly progressing towards where they stood. ]
We need to move!
[ Don't mind as he reaches over to grab Vex by the wrist and yank her with him as he goes into a full sprint. ]
Oh no! But at least it wasn't a 1?
The cautious stalk forward by Vex proves fruitless when the corridor's hidden triggers are in the wall this time. The scrape, then rumble, of stone sliding and collapsing away is hard to miss, even if Vex does freeze in surprise, but Sen seizing her wrist jars her out of it. ]
Oh shit oh shit ohshit...!
[ So goeth the mantra as they charge down the hallway. There's an exit directly ahead and one to the right, and Vex points to one of the doors; so far straight on hasn't been too friendly but that side one's open. ]
Run, in there! Hurry!
no subject
When Vex points out the door, he's already beelining to it. He slams himself bodily into it, throwing the door wide open as he charges into it. He spins at the door frame, extending a hand out for Vex to grab in case the falling floor caught up to her before she made it. ]
no subject
To say she's a bit breathless is an understatement, and she peers back at the collapsed floor and the descending darkness in dismay. ]
You know, I get the feeling people really weren't welcome as visitors here.
no subject
That or this was their way of a welcoming party.
[ He turns and yes, another long hallway. There's a look of aggravation as they've probably now been thrown off course. Still, they're alive, but touching the walls and floors definitely dangerous.
It's there he gets the idea as he looks over to Vex. ]
Did you happen to bring your broom with you?
no subject
[ This place is a veritable maze of hallways, and Vex is beginning to miss her endless rope quite a bit. They'd be able to tie the string and follow it back otherwise... She's stirred from this IfOnly of WhatIfs by Sen's question. ]
Always, dear--Oh! [smart! And a safe way to backtrack if needed too - no fear of falling, so long as there's no reverse gravity spell involved.] Let's mount up. Can you make that light of yours any brighter? I don't want us flying into something hanging low that snuck up on me.
[ Asked, before pulling said broom from her back and making a spit-like sound to bring it to life. ]
Treasure Rooms
Either way it's never as easy as it should be when claiming treasure that was never yours.]
