[Not that abilities aren't close enough to magic, but they're much more one-sided, if nothing else.
Still, Atsushi can't exactly argue with the fact that Mikazuki is being healed, and he's the one doing it. Trying not to think about the "how" and "why" too much - he doesn't want to risk turning this magic off again, whatever it is - he slowly but surely heals all of Mikazuki's injuries, as much as he can. The big ones don't heal fully, but even there, there seems to be some effect.
And then he sits back, staring at Mikazuki's healed skin.]
[ Truthfully, Mikazuki has become used to just slotting anything that has very real and very clearly implausible results into must be magic, but it seems he was right this time. He stays leaned over where he is, flexing his hands a few times to watch how the once-fresh wounds move beneath his skin. Some of them are still open, mostly the deeper puncture marks, but it's already enough for him.
After a moment, he takes a slow breath, adrenaline-lethargic. ]
You say that, but...
[ He's looking at something real enough, isn't he? ]
[Simple conclusion or not, it's hard to argue with the facts. Atsushi should be glad with what he's accomplished - and he is! But he's still more confused, and wondering if this is temporary, and -...
He really needs to stop that, and learn to accept good things when they happen. He used to be getting better at that, but when the source of the "good" seems to be himself, that makes it another story entirely. It's easy to accept good things from other people, and never expect more than what he's given, not even blaming people if their attention turns sour; it's different when good things come from within him, because then he needs to keep delivering.]
Yes... [It really is magic. And he really did it. It's hard to believe, but he forces himself to take a breath, to release it, and try to let go of his doubts at the same time.] I'm glad.
[He forces a tiny smile. Whatever the reason he got these powers, and however long they may last, he was able to help a friend. That makes him happy - and it will likely make him happier, the more he learns that he can count on this new magic.]
... You're really feeling all right? There's nothing strange?
[ Without believing in luck, Mikazuki is still grateful on some level that this was the result. Atsushi's doubt being pressed out from beneath his acceptance is a tangible thing, and Mikazuki thinks that that's good. That's how it ought to be. And being mostly devoid of manners still doesn't stop him from coming out with a earnest, well-worn but equally dogged: ]
Thanks.
[ Pulling his coat closer, he shakes his head. ]
Nothing strange. She just took a lot of blood, but it's nothing.
[ That he's not used to, really. It'd slow anyone down, even him. ]
[Perhaps predictably, it's that simple "thanks" that finally makes Atsushi cheer up properly. He helps people because he wants to, and if they're friends of his, so much the better. He doesn't need thanks... but it still feels damn good to get that kind of appreciation, even if he doesn't need it. No - because he doesn't need it, maybe.
Losing a lot of blood is never nothing, but that's the kind of attitude Atsushi has come to expect from Mikazuki. That's why he tries to be very firm when he offers:]
... Where do you want to go? I'll walk with you.
["To make sure you don't collapse," he doesn't say; "I'll still carry you if I need to," he doesn't point out, either. Simple, practical, but without a lot of room for discussion. He hopes he can get Mikazuki to agree, that way.]
[ For him, it's nothing so deep or troublesome to give. A thanks for a job done to the best of his ability, a gift he didn't have to share, no matter how much of a surprise it was. Giving a look around, he seems pretty deflated as compared to his usual boyish energy, no matter how monotonous that energy normally is. Something about that water really took it out of him as swiftly as it spiked his lack of inhibitions. ]
Back to Wyver. It's not as safe for me to stay here.
[ Which he doesn't make sound as sobering or offputting as he could — or should. ]
Then I'll take you to the city borders, if nothing else. [Going into Wyver could be a problem for Atsushi at this point. He can be brave when he needs to be, but he's not reckless for no reason.] Maybe I can rent a horse...?
[Oh, Atsushi gets it. She just likes to -... THAT IS REALLY NOT NORMAL!! Of course Reign drinks blood too, and maybe there are others, but there's still a huge difference between asking for permission and just feeding on people.]
That's no reason to beat you up for it! Jeez... [He should probably be more upset - and he is! But there are so many strange people here that he doesn't have the energy to project more than weary annoyance.] She should have just asked.
[ Mikazuki is far from someone who expects anyone else to put their hide on the line for him, but he's come to recognize that Atsushi probably will whether he likes it or not, and he's a little too tired to argue with him over it, at that. It's with begrudging acceptance that he realizes he can't really outpace him like this, either.
With an offhanded rise of his shoulders, he counters that statement, equally flippant in that monotonous way of his. ]
It was the water.
[ One of the many effects of the lagoons that goes crashing through inhibitions. ]
She was just stronger.
[ Not too proud to admit it, since all the evidence is right here. ]
[That's what it was, huh? It may or may not be a good reason, but it's a good enough excuse. Water can do all sorts of things here, Atsushi has come to find. If only the effects were obvious at a glance!]

I'm okay. This isn't much.
[ A truth, for the most part. ]
